im starting to think there might be something wrong with my rat most of my best maps are at the very bottom of the list simply because the enemy cannot comprehend a junkrat flying right on top of them and somehow hitting every shot on the way down

It's called being adaptable with the character you play. Rather than accepting the consensus that junkrat is unplayable in those scenarios ;]. You try your best to mitigate your weaknesses
