Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzbin.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

I just picked up the Turfmaster HDX and love it. Turn it by pulling it when possible. It's easier to pull than it is to push so use that to your advantage. If you must turn it in the forward direction, use the drive system to help pull you through the turn.

I’ve been landscaping for 10 years with the same company and now I am ready to start my own gig. I just purchased a 2016 Exmark 60inch e series and was debating a walk behind or commercial push mower as my 2nd mower. I’m leaning towards the push mower because I can get it through any gate. I was looking at the toro you reviewed today and I am glad I seen this video. I’m gonna check out the cub cadet . I also heard bad reviews about about the Exmark 30 commercial push mower as well.

I tell you what I love my Toro TimeMaster for residential use. No its not as commercial grade as your TurfMaster but the self pace system works fine for me even on hills. I have no issues maneuvering the TimeMaster in the tighter spaces but it also weighs 35lbs less than the TurfMaster.

Im use to priming, choking and pulling the string to start and pulling and pulling the string only to have to go slow over thick grass. The first time I pulled a cadet off the trailer I didnt think much of this lightweight cub but it turned out to be a heavy hitting bear, no bogging, one pull, no prime, no choke. ONE PULL BABY YEAH!

Toro commercial 30 works phenomenal for us but it depends on the job. For commercial sites we don’t really use anything smaller then a 52” then use whippers for the rest. We remove the guards from our whippers so they can pretty much cut the same pass as a push mower. Only time the push mowers come out is when the whippers will spray grass on parked cars beside the islands. Residential backyards with narrow gates is where the toro commercial 30 earns its keep. They cut much nicer then a 21” mower due to the increased blade tip speed, no mohawks, double cuts, half passes. They cut full width passes even in foot tall grass, a 21’ would be having the fight of its life with that. For us it’s not just the efficiency the toro 30” gives, it’s the cut quality. We do fertilizer and set the irrigation for all our accounts, so have lots of growth to cut each week. The 21” mowers always leave mohawks on its wheel lines that appear after blowing. Plus 21” mowers need a decent overlap each pass, and have slow blade speed that slows down the walking pace in thick grass. The Toro 30” gets us at least double the efficiency of the 21”, and close to a 36” ferris in residential work.

For my 2acres of rocky bumpy lawn, I use 3 mowers. My favorite by far is the Scag SW48-14ka walk behind with sulke. Bought used cheap($900), the belt drives are cheap, the tranny is not bullet proof but cheap to replace ($175), the Kawasaki engine and the deck is a beast, but mostly it feels like you're driving a tank! And it gives a way better cut than my John Deere G100 54inch riding mower. Maybe not for the pros, but I love it! Finally, my 21inch lawn boy silver series mower from 2001 has been flawless for the past 15 years, despite me treating as a bush hog and abusing constantly...

I bought a Dixon Zero Turn Kodiak lawn mower some years ago and have so pent more time on my back than a busy harlot trying to keep the dammed thing running. Firstly the blade carrier a ( all welded construction) and i cut out a new one from 3,mm plate and welded it in place, It too failed with large cracks appearing after about ten hours running, i then replaced the almost solid rubber buffer that keep the tension on the blase drive belts with a spring, thus reduced the vibrations considerably. When the second 3mm plate failed i was determined that it would not fail again and so cut to shape and welded a 5 mm thick piece of metal to the tree mm top and refitted all the bearings. So far this has not failed. The other problem has been the drive belt from the electric clutch, if the mower was driven into any thick lawn the belt would slip and start to smoke. Genuine Dixon belts were more expensive than diamonds in Australia and the pressed tin pulleys were as useless as a bull with teats, also know one could tell me what section the Dixon belts were, perhaps they have them made to a special cross section as there were not A or B section belts. To overcome the problem of slipping belts i welded a twin drive pulley onto the clutch pulley and fitted a twin pulley to the blade carrier, this stopped th smoking and slipping belts. All i have to do now is locate the break in the electric clutch wiring and attempt to rectify this, other wise i will have to pay about AU $450-00 for a new one. This mower have been a heap of crap and i would b never recommend it to anyone.

I have owned 2 Toro recyclers. The 1st was a 6hp would chop up anything under it above blade height. Its death toll was when the exhaust system bolts would no longer hold. Ran it without exhaust and it melted the drive cover. Next was a 6.5 go that found its death when every nut and bolt rattled off that held the carb on and the motor mount the exhaust guard the top cover. The carb bracket snapped making it impossible to simply rebuild. Summers in Florida kill mowers but these were bought used cheep but were tough mowers.

My first commercial mower was a Bunton 36" with a Kawasaki FC460V engine. I purchased it new in 1994. Other than tires & belts, the only repairs I remember doing were spindle bearings and caster bushings which are arguably wear items. In 2014, I sold the machine to a "kid" for $750. He still uses it to this day. Not bad considering I paid $1500, used it for 20 years and got 1/2 my money back!

Well I can say from a NON commercial use, Our Toro 22 inch recycler has been flawless for the 9 years we've had it doing just our lawn at least once a week between probably early April to late November each year give or take. Cuts great and starts the first time about 2/3 of the time. the other third is 2 pulls, never 3. For individual residential use I would recommend it. The stock blade is ok, it'll leave alot of clippings in the super thick stuff but otherwise it's fine, we'll get a better mulching blade like a gator or something later.

Definitely is a decent machine. I’ve had no issues as of yet and it gets used pretty extensively. I don’t really like the mulch feature as it doesn’t seem to work overly well.. so I usually have to bag the grass I’ve always run high grade fuel which definitely seems to make a difference in the run quality, I now have to of these mowers a zero turn and a regular style and I would personally prefer the zero turn. Hope that helps

That's why the plastic wheel rims are white Stanley. Sunlight breaks down plastic but white objects are white because they're reflecting all wavelengths of visible light that composes sunlight. There's a black ring around the rim because we're used to seeing black tires on things and white would just discolor from yards. I have that cub cadet mower except mine is about 10 years old now. Only complaint is that if I don't get help picking it up, the cast iron deck will give me a backache every time I have to pick it up.

John Deere makes awesome ride mowers. Never used a push Deere push mower. Toro makes great mowers. A lot of the mowers at work (golf course) are toro. I would reccomend a toro sidewinder, but they are not comfortable, the scuff the grass with tight turns and going around trees and the decks are hard to wash. The sidewinder is nice because you can shift the deck left or right and mow up against something without getting the machine to close to it.

@@indman101 Some of the newer Briggs & Stratton engines just aren't very good. The older stuff was great, and used to be one of the major go-to engines for just about everyone except the commercial market that seems to have stuck with the Kawasaki, Kohler, and Honda engines. My Craftsman 21" push mower is still alive, if I recall its about 15 years old. I don't have it anymore, I gave it to a kid that wanted a lawnmower for mowing lawns this summer, he loves it, it works great, and its the high wheel type so its very easy to push. I now have a Troy Bilt 21" push mower, and recently picked up a thrown away Craftsman 21" FWD which after a new blade, and a new wheel on the front its working very well, I don't care much for the FWD self propel though, I think the RWD or AWD models would be better for myself, seems like the FWD just don't provide much in the way of traction, and if you are bagging after a while you are pushing it because the weight of the grass in the bag lifts the mower enough that the front wheels just spin and don't provide any propulsion...so at some point I'll be looking for a RWD or AWD model and that Cub Cadet may just end up being what I go with, except they're using Chinese no-name engines so I may go back to Troy Bilt, or Toro....I know Toro makes some great regular walk behind mowers as does Snapper, at least the Hi-Vac models are awesome very well built long lasting units...I haven't used a regular one just a couple Hi-Vac models.

I hear that a lot, yet I’ve never had any real problems with any B&S engine. Not sure about the newer ones coming out of China on the residential mowers. The commercial Vanguard engines are great. More power than my Kawasaki motor. Honda’s are good for push mowers and pressure washers. Kohler would actually be my number four pick.

The problem with the grandstand is the platform design. When I stand on it without power it starts to wheelie. Look at the wheelie the guy pulls in the video. The Standing between the wheel design is far superior on hills and you can get into ditches and other area that the platform gets caught on. I have the Ferris Z2. I love it. Fast and amazing on hills.

Stanley I have to agree about the toro turf master. I just started a new Lawncare job and my boss made my use the toro to push mow some back yards and the power to the wheels takes off to fast and trying to turn the toro it’s to hard to do. If they were smart they could do a zero turn wheels on the front of it to make it easier.

Everything depends on the proper size power tool that I need for the job I have, If I need a 30 in lawn mower I would go with the new exmark, but if I need a zero turn mower I would go with either bobcat or Husqvarna because there is no Scag dealer near by the area where I live other wise I would of gone with bobcat and Scag for zero turn and If I need a tractor mower for the job I would choose Husqvarna or troy built.

i love our 30 inch toro turfmaster every single place it fits it goes i rarely use our 21 inch toro anymore the problem with the drive wheels we have too but i just add a locking washer to the end of the cable when i feel its not pulling well enough anymore. ive also never had it break down over the 3 years ive had it. maybe you got a lemon or your workers are rough on it.

Best walk behind I've ever owned is the John Deere 14SB. I still have it for the hard to reach areas but the main machine is a John Deere GM2072R for the back of my tractor. Rear discharge with high lift blades leaves no windrow or clumps even in a most, tall grass. This mower is much quieter than my old GM272 mower.

My $800 Honda self-propelled mower eats through rear wheels (bearing housing wears out) 2 sets in five years. The cheap plastic hubs don't have enough meat to keep from wearing around the bearings. The wheels end up wobbling back and forth until I change them. I wish I could get steel replacements, but the drive gear sonic welded onto the plastic hub prevents that upgrade. ANYWAY... Are the Cub Cadet wheel hubs built beefy enough to hold up over time? Thanks for the videos.

@@DamianSaldanaSubscribe better is subjective. if you just mow your own flat lawn im sure it's "better". I have the timemaster and it's not better in the sense that it's made of cheap plastic and everything is breaking on it and it has a noisy clunky motor with no power. I also absolutely despise the personal pace system.

I liked this light-hearted video. A little humor, some good info. You did forget how woefully under powered the turf master is as well. And, I do love the Grand stand too, but at $9000 a pop, they better be good. My personal favorite is the Honda Masters HR215. Sadly discontinued, it had a cast aluminum deck, hydro static transmission, shaft drive from the motor (no belts), and blade stop to stop the blade but not the engine. There was also an electric start option, but the motor started so easily, not many opted for it. The new ones with plastic or steel decks are probably good; they have excellent controls as well, but they have belt drive. Not sure about blade-stop on those-they do cost enough to have it, but so does that Turf Master.

Well, I considered the Cub Cadet electric start vs. a Honda HRC216k3HXC and I chose the latter. The reason? I know the Honda will outlast the Cub and I was told by a Cub customer service person that the Cub DOESN’T charge the battery while mowing. You had to plug it in after roughly 100 electric starts. I don’t have power to my shed currently and I am somewhat limited to where I can plug it in. When you asked Cub to put a blade brake clutch on its mowers, I want the same thing. That’s another of the reasons I chose against Cub. Honda’s electric start mowers are only $100 more than the non electric and cost about as much as the Cubs PLUS they charge the batteries on board.

Stanley I will agree somewhat on the toro. I have the Exmark version commercial 30. Great mower but the wheels need to be a bit better and so does the drive system too. But the biggest dilemma is for us that have a ton of gated yards that are at that 36 or less for gates. Sure beats a 21” mower though. I would like to see you do a review on a Vantage 36” if you could ever get one. That’s a small size but I know Exmark is redoing some of their stander lineup right now.
