Hemispheres takes a quantum leap! I too hadn't noticed the 3 people on Test for Echo.

I mostly agree with your rankings and I now (thanks to this video) have a new appreciation for Fly By Night, Presto, Feedback, and the first album (so much that I might rank it higher than last :0 ) I really agree with Power Windows and Hemispheres being low. Yeah, Snakes and Arrows is nice, but missing some impact or something. I think 2112 and Caress of Steel should be lower (with the latter just because of the color scheme maybe). I also don't think I noticed the three people on Test for Echo and I didn't notice the 21:12 on Clockwork (that's cooool). Grace

Yeah, the original color scheme for Caress of Steel was to be silver instead of orange. Man that would’ve been EPIC 👍🏻

@@AllAboutRush The picture or the surrounding sleeve? Either way, yes, it would've been more eye catching and not dark looking.

i went on your hemispheres down and up the list ride...it was exillarating i think alot of prog rockish albums of the time were gatefold with continuing the image to the back, think roger dean/yes covers/gatefold so one could argue that's how it should be viewed?

Hiya Omar!!! It's been a minute since I have seen your channel and associated video(s!!) I will grab my popcorn, a nice cool can of "Coke Zero," AND drop a hint as to what album, I think should hold the TOP "ELITE" SPOT!!!!! 🤔...⛧... 😉 BUT, that is just my opinion, albeit having been a "RUSH FOLLOWER" ( I don't like the word "FAN," as it comes from the word "FANATICAL," and the connotation of the word, it just doesn't sit well with me, mostly because I have never been so overzealous about something that I have become "FANATICAL...!!" ) So, perhaps I am the first to be a "follower" of anything...... Daaahhhh, I doubt it!!!😂 HOWEVER, in the Summer of 1973, and through a "little white lie" to my parents, in order to "fall under the guardianship" of my older cousin, to get a reissue passport for travel into Canada ( I had been there in 1967' with my family for The "Montreal Exposition" ) I was and as a seventeen year old teenager, able to see RUSH, who at the time was made up of, "John, Alex and Gary," playing in a bar in Toronto, ( things certainly were much more relaxed in the world then... ) and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the bar..... 🤔!!! And by the time "Hemispheres" was released, AND as astonishing as it was, I had lost a lot of interest in the band!! I still listened to their music, but I didn't look forward to every new album as they had become to mainstream, SORTA losing that mystique of a "world class, yet underground, and in every way asskicking club band!!" Listen.., to all the "fanatical" RUSH fans, I completely understand that had they not come out into the mainstream, we would have lost one of the best three piece, power-trio bands that has EVER EXISTED IN THE WORLD!!! Andddddddd, as a drummer myself, Neil certainly was a huge influence on my drumming growth!! Even drawing my own father in...... but seeing as how I grew up in a music industry family that had their pulse on the business, even he MOSTLY AGREED with me about RUSH losing their "edge," after mainstream sucked them in... and he was even less giving than I!!! Because, after the 2112 album, he felt they were well on their way to super stardom, however... being in the industry as long as he had, he could easily recognize the changes in both music and those that surrounded them... because that IS THE PART that changes every thing!!!! Meaning, that the band went from writing a few checks to "the machine" that keeps RUSH hurling forwards, to a much, much LARGER MACHINE, to do the same!!! Having said that, I will just sit back and watch this video as it unfolds!!!!! Good luck, and give it hell brother!! ANYWAY, KEEP ON KEEPING ON BROTHER AND SISTER RUSH ROCKERS!!!!!!!!!!😁 PEACE!!!!!!!!!!✌🏼

Hey bk! I can't match everything you said (pretty EPIC, by the way), but I will say that, if Rush was starting to be more 'mainstream', I think it was because they wanted to. I still think that, in the end, they were happy with each album as it came out, with perhaps a comical disdain for some songs ("Tai Shan" comes to mind, but I do like that song). But that swan song progressive epic, "Clockwork Angels", showed they still had "IT", even at the end of it all. 😎
