@Andrew LaCivita I have an interview comping up next week. I did some research and came to know that the interviewer in an introvert, while am an extrovert and am self aware that I sometime have tendency to go into details that are not being asked by interviewer. Can that make a bad impression during interviews ? Any other tips that I may utilize that can help me build a rapport with interviewer quickly and set the stage for success ? #Leadership

Wow I was just asked this question yesterday, and by pure luck I happened to respond to the recruiter the way you explained in this video. I didn't realize the level of intricasy involved in such an innocently packaged question. You ARE the god of HR sir, my thanks go out to you yet again.

Don’t be fooled by the question. Avoid being specific and instead vocalize why you’re excited about the role and its responsibilities!

I like the question: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? That's a question to be answered by not focusing on oneself, but instead, one to answer by keeping company focused. Well, where I see myself in 5 years (especially within the company) largely depends on the company itself.

With the current climate, the question should be ‘where do you see yourself in the next year?’ So hard to stay within a company for more than 2-3 years…toxicity, restructuring, bankruptcy…employees are little more than disposable wipes. The certainty of being in a job for the long haul that was around 20-30 years ago no longer exists. I would advise young people to learn real skills that can’t be done by AI and where they don’t need to work for an organisation, avoiding subjecting themselves to the absurd interview game, begging for a job just to earn money. Hunger games.

@Fine Weather As I eluded to previously in answering the above-mentioned interview question: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Is a scenario best answered, reversing that conversation back onto the job interviewer(s). In other words, don't invite yourself into a group setting , culture, or otherwise until first you've got the job and you are seen as an asset.

@@UrbanSipfly yes, I am in agreement with that - my point was that recruitment has turned into this game show where those who provide the ‘correct’ answers to questions that bear no relation to whether you can fit in or not, or able to do the job will ‘win’.
@UrbanSipfly Жыл бұрын
@Fine Weather Yeah, work as we know it today has become a matrix or an optical illusion of sorts where the reason for work is now hard to define. We all know that work is a necessity but to whose advantage?

hey Andy, #bootcamper here! this is great! I been getting this question when I tell interviewers/recruiters I am concurrently interviewing with other companies - "how likely are you to accept our offer if you are successful?" I would love to know how you would handle this question and why you think interviewers/recruiters are asking this question. Thanks!
