When researching ahead of an interview, I browse the company's website for their history and mission statement. Then I go through LinkedIn and try to connect with some of the people who are in that position or who will be leading the interview to see what their values and goals are.

@@AustinChowChow Hi Austin! That's a really really good way to go about it! So many people forget about trying to figure out the fit or culture ahead of deciding which companies they apply to (you should really be going for ones that align with your own values) and instead just apply to all openings they see. But it seems like you know the sort of culture you want?

Mr. Shu, I see you are audience-oriented. Your videos are captioned in correct English and punctuation. You'd be surprised how many videos I see that I could encourage my students to seek out for further information that are "auto-generated." I don't have the time to request of KZbin to convert them or ask the IT team at work to do this job. You've got an A from me for anticipating the audience's needs. Thank you for the information and videos that don't go on for 20-minutes, 30, or one hour. Time is important; and you show that you value your audience's. Good job.

Great advice! I’ve never thought of asking experts about their KPI to gauge what their day-to-day is like. In answer to your question, I look at their websites, check their social media accounts, and, of course, ask Google! I think the hardest part about the whole process is filtering out all the unimportant parts to get to the relevant information.

Hi Ross! Funnily enough a few of my fellow classmates from university are working in that exact same position (I think a few in NYC and another one in Ohio actually). From what I understand, it's an extremely client-focused and customer-centric role, so I'd highlight experiences (both personal and professional) where you went above and beyond when it came to supporting a user (i.e. client). Love the KZbin part :) If you're talking about how to structure (like the "Tell me about yourself" video or "Why are you a good fit for this role") I'd say the first 30-45 seconds should be about making that connection between the role and yourself, then around another minute or so on your growth mindset (with specific examples of course) and ending it out by reiterating your passion for the work you'd be able to do in the new role (of course your enthusiasm should be evident throughout)!

@@JeffSu I tried to change my career path to marketing since I’m much analytical and thought it was the right career path, but I quickly realized that sales is my true passion. The satisfaction of bringing the right product/solution to my clients is like no other. Being introvert actually plays at my advantage which makes me a better listener and builds trust with my clients.

@@56038ymw Wow, you literally just read my mind. I also realized in my 2 years as a salesperson that the BEST salespeople are the ones who are good at listening, not the ones best at talking. I'm so happy that you found a career path that you love!

I find this question to be silly. I also find it really wild that employers would rather not have an honest answer to this question as well. There is a 100% chance that the applicant is seeking that profession for personal growth and monetary gain, not so much the company's. If anything, a person who is honest about why want to work there is a better candidate than the person who merely says what the interviewer wants to hear. More often than not, it's better to have someone who will say what you need to hear than someone who would say what you want to hear.
