I’ve been riding since the mid 70’s and I thought I’d never have an auto bike of any kind. I tried a NC750X DCT and placed an order for a new one immediately. Two years and 21,000 in and I love it. I ride all year, virtually every day (don’t own a car) and I use the various riding modes to suit what I’m doing. I can understand the reluctance of traditionalists and I totally accept their views, but…….. I was a traditionalist until I tried it.

Good on the manufacturers the pool for riders is getting smaller, they need to go this way because if you tour long distances the DCT is the way to go. Less stress when your doing 5-600 mile days 2 up packed with gear. Yes I like shifting too, but some days it is annoying ….

Robotic transmissions (where servo’s shift and operate the clutch, called AMT’s) were crap on cars so that’s why DCT was invented. I don’t see why these older style AMT’s can be not crap on bikes. Honda’s DCT for me is the only true automatic, option.

Automatic & e-clutch? Don't care! I LIKE shifting. I bought my first motorcycle 60 years ago this November. I have enjoyed being a motorcyclist amidst a sea of car drivers. Easier shifting may make it so there will be more new motorcyclists out there, but I don't want more motorcyclists out there. I like being more unique than the average person. As of July this year it became law in the EU that cars, trucks and buses had to have speed limiter and other technology, bikes were exempt from this because the technology wasn’t there. This tech is easier implemented with an auto box available. Manufacturers are basically preparing because they can see the writing on the wall. So to answer your question, the EU.
