Bought the All Purpose MH rod loved it, so went out and got the 7'3" H Frog\Swimbait rod. I have to say these are sweet rods. Probably the best frog rod out there but I use it for so much more. They are as close to perfect for the money. The heavy powered rods are light and sensitive compared to my Denali, St-Croix rods. They are nicely balanced too. If your new to bass fishing and start off with these TCS rods, you are setting the bar high for your standards already.

Good video. I actually like a 6’6” for top water/small cranks. Loose some casting distance but pick up a little accuracy. And agree about 7ft mh is probably the most versatile rod for anyone just getting into bass fishing.

You seem high on Okuma rods. I am thinking about buying a couple based on your video. I fish Guntersville mainly. Worms, chatterbaits, sometimes frogs and swimbaits and Carolina rigs. So, based on that which two would you suggest?

Things have changed since this video was released. Can I get your true opinion, regardless of the fact you are sponsored by Ark. Which rods are better and why? I have 40+ rods, 20 which I got when my cousin passed away from Covid a year ago. Most of them are good rods but I prefer a softer tipped, parabolic bending rods. I’m looking to buy 3 or 4 $100-$150 rods. I also want light weight rods. Something for flipping, shallow cranking, skipping and a shorter rod for walking baits. If you could recommend a good medium powered medium action spinning rod I would certainly appreciate it. You make the best bass fishing content on KZbin. I really value your teaching ability and have learned a ton from you over the past few years. Thanks Ty!

I do have to mention that if you are at a small lake with smaller fish in it, I believe that a heavy power rod will rip the bait out of the fish, or the fish out of the water. (I consider 'smaller fish' to be 1.5 to 2.5 lbs.) I like to stick to Medium Heavy, maybe medium for smaller fish.

Some People set a hook with every hemorrhoid in their butt, and other anglers just set the hook with a gentle pull. So Let your individual style determine which power/action combination works best for you. Generally speaking a Gaff Hook takes a Medium Heavy/Fast, while Treble Hooks Pretty much set them selves so a Medium Power/moderate action wil get you longer casting distances...

7' mh. 7,6 h. 6'10" m with moderate action. That's the most important rods you can have. If you're tall then maybe use a 7' jerkbait rod but I'm 5'10" so. But action has nothing to do with power. A rod that's a medium heavy is a medium heavy power rod. It may have a fast action or a moderate action like the st Croix bass x rods which are amazing rods especially when using baits with treble hooks. And they come with a full 5 year warranty for just about $120. Peace and good fishing.

Hi sir. Love your channel and content. Watch you all the time. How about a video/instruction on getting a hook out of a gut hooked fish? I’m sure you are good at that. I hate to hurt a fish. I worm fish a lot and have to really be tuned in to the bite, otherwise I run the risk of a deep hooked fish.

Long time spin caster but beginner bait caster here in California.. I’m thinking I need a 7’ medium to medium heavy action till I get better at casting. (??) Currently fishing trout, and bass, sometime I like to do Stripers which I might need to get a heavier rod. What’s your thoughts?? so, what's it going to be for that 6" Magdraft? Everybody evolves and those in the know are no exception! You wouldn't have gone with Okuma or Ark if you didn't feel comfortable in recommending them. But now that I'm ready to jump in to that 6" Magdraft, is it going to be the Ark 7'3 Money Maker MH, or the Okuma 7'3 Heavy Frog/Swimbait? I'm going to buy one or the other based upon your current preference!

Those two rods have a very similar power/action even though one is listed as a MH and the other a H. I would go with the Money Maker, because that’s what I use now. But both are great rods

Love the TCS line up. 7'3" H I have had for a month or so and use it for my 4.76 to 5.75 paddletails. What are your thoughts in the 7' H? They label this as their jig/worm rod I believe. Mainly use 3/16 to 1/4 tx rig from the bank so trying to justify if the 7' H would be a good rod for that.

Just bought a okuma tcs 7’-3”” for my frogs/jitterbugs,can’t wait to use it. Also received a evx -b for Christmas in 7’2” med. hvy. Any experience with the evx-b lineup I’m going to use it as a bottom contact rod.

I will fish with the boat at a depth of 5 meters and in salt water. I will use "Zerek Live Shrimp", "Daiwa Duckfin Shad" and rarely "Fiiish black minnow". I will use 5-15gr lead weight. The fish I will catch is a maximum of 5 kg. usually 1-2 kilograms. What do you think is the BEST baitcasting rod in the WORLD for this?

I would probably go with the 7'1" personally. But it is going to depend on what you want to do with it. 7'1" is a great all around rod. 6'10" will be better for casting in tight situations

I have fished with almost every major brand over the years and I have seen most of them break down after a period of time, especially if you use them often. I try to completely clean my reels 2 times a year and that really seems to help with their longevity

Depends on what I am using it for. Typically a 7.1 - 1 is going to be great for lost situations. I like the Okuma Helios SX

The ones that I have on the Rods are the Okuma Helios SX. If you can afford it then I think it is great to start out with a higher end reel when you are just getting started, because a higher end reel is going to perform better. If not, then there are a lot of $100 reels on the market. I wouldn't choose anything less than that because then you get into reels that won't last long.

Don’t worry to much about what the manufacturer says the rod is for certain baits or techniques. If you can, go to a brick and mortar store so you can get a grip on the way manufacturers tend to make rods. A Heavy powered rod for one company is a medium heavy for another.

The heavy is a fast action rod and the m/h is a moderate or moderately fast rod. I don't know why so many utube fisherman creators confuse power with action
