How is the stretch in these garments? The unrestrictive feel is why i have stuck with Under Armour despite other brands making more and more hockey specific products.

interesting material with impressive features! but: the combination of the top with pants cost 150$ + shipping. it's sure a high-tec material which caused a lot of R&D costs in advance. but the price is way too high for a regular recreational player, considering that one ususally uses multiple base layers. i think zenkai also tries to justify the high price of the pants by adding the velcro and cup but as i said before, one usually ends up buying several base layers and each base layer will have a velcro and a cup which is not really necessary. right now i use 4 base layers which is just enough for one week for me. That would cost me over 600$ to replace these by zenkai. crazy! also i'm not very sure about the idea of not washing these base layers after every usage. it doesn't sound good or healthy to me.

Hockey tutorial I have a question about runners. I want to switch to runner of brands that actually focus on blades. I was wonder which brand is better Byonic blades or steep steel? Thank you
@HockeyTutorialOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Step Steel make the highest quality runners available to date BUT they sit very high on the ice. This isn't something that everyone likes. Byonic have great quality steel which doesn't sit as high (plus I really like the colours) It really depends on what you want. Currently, I'm using Byonic but also have Step Steel. I hope this helps.

Is there any place in Europe where you can buy these? I would like to try them but ordering from the us will make them even more expensive (if even possible, their website does not offer that option).

Doesn’t the sweat then drain down into your gloves and socks/skates? This was the downfall of Rebook Edge 1.0 jersey material after just 1 season.
@jordanclancy38225 жыл бұрын
I can only see those keeping you more sweaty. The point of moisture wicking is to spread and expose the sweat to open air where it can be evaporated. Water repellent fabrics are never breathable enough to allow enough air to enter for an adequate rate of cooling. The aim of sweat is not to cling to the body, but to evaporate and therefore cool you down through that process.
@joshw6043 жыл бұрын
exactly. you don't want sweat to be stuck on your skin, you want it to be evaporated off. think about being in a very humid place where your sweat doesn't leave your skin, how is that better? In fact, this reminds me of wetsuits for surfers/divers that trap a layer of water/sweat between the wetsuit and your skin allowing you to stay warm, not cool.

Hockey Tutorial, this is a good video but I don’t think these are worth it. With shipping and taxes included, the pants alone will cost you well over $100. I don’t know where you guys are buying your base layers, but the way you describe them makes it sound like you’ve bought them at the dollar store. I don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve bought multiple other base layers for well under this price and they have lasted for multiple years and they have held up fine (I’ve only had to buy new pairs every few years because I’ve grown out of them). Maybe I just haven’t noticed these problems because I am focused on the game. If you’re sitting on the bench during a game and thinking about your underclothes, you should probably get your head in the game. In my opinion you should be putting this money into equipment that will have a greater impact on your performance like sticks or skates.
@bobbutts44025 жыл бұрын
To be fair, this product does everything that they said it does. I'm sure developing new fabrics like that isn't cheap. there's a lot of products in hockey that some people think are worth it, and others don't. I don't see why this stuff is any different
@HockeyTutorialOfficial5 жыл бұрын
I get you but at the same time base layers are a very important part of the game for multiple reasons which I shared in this video. Being cooler and more comfortable does have a massive impact on your performance. I completely understand that not everyone can and will spend this amount but it's always great to know how our equipment actually works and what can be done to help our performance and comfort. This is the next step for fabrics in hockey and we're all about giving insight on new hockey tech.. For example; Think about if hockey gloves were lined with Zenkai? No more bacteria buildup and bad smell. Healthier and better for all players. You have to see past just base layers and think about how this fabric will impact hockey.. sports!... it's big!

I agree and wash my base layers after every skate BUT a lot of players don't. Aside from that.. even after washing, they never truly smell great if you've had them for awhile. The base layers in this video will never smell.
