When we lived in Cornwall, our friends owned a wholefood shop. Unfortunately they had to give it up and a well known chain of 'healthfood' shops took it on and in their wisdom, refused to sell saffron! Many elderly Katie's refused to enter the shop after that! They should have done their homework as they must have lost £s by not doing their homework on local sales! Thank you for a lovely video, thank you for all your hard work, filming, editing and finding interesting stories for us all. Cornwall, we miss you!❤❤ Merry Christmas to you both😊

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do on here. You really are the most lovely couple & have subscribed to you for many years. So glad that your mum is recovering Sarah. Never ever do I get tired of watching a Sarah & Andrew video & this Xmas walk was right up my street as one of my favourite areas of Cornwall, apart from Tintagel. Just along the coast the other way is the little house on the cliff they used for Dr. Enys' house in Poldark. I think that was the last time I came to Cornwall, over 5-6years ago now as I became unwell then & cannot do the long journey down there anymore. I also have one of Sarah's gorgeous art works on my shelf here with sea glass. So a little bit of Cornwall here & a video every week to remind me how I loved that area. Looking forward to your new adventures in 2024...if you get a chance hop on a ferry over to the IOW...it's like a mini Cornwall in places there & think you would both love it. Merry Xmas & Happy New Year to you both & the lovely doggies x J x

@@bonitawyke7259 Oh, that was a nice surprise message to read! Thank you. Have been watching S & A for sooo many years now. Like inviting friends into your house once a week isn't it?! I live in Kent but it's a long old trek from there to Cornwall & as I can't walk much anymore it's a journey too far for me these days. Have a peaceful Christmas & thanks for your nice message. x J x

Lovely presentation of intrigue, mystery & things going through the walls. Thank you. I'm my band days, Friday night was music night, but now it's Cornwall night. Best wishes regards your new year plans. The media that you use is superior to tele' because it's interactive, as we are corresponding with you. So when your productions are such high quality, I don't just mean picture quality, the documentary from you that comes with it, just brings it alive video after video. So when you make a comment about the recovery of your family member, we all there with you. Thank you for the delight that you have brought to my household in just a few months. God bless.

We visited Wniwalloe church in 2022 and I looked around to get a view of the Hatman, having watched your previous video about it. But I didn't se him. Thank you for this festive and lovely video. These hot chocolates looked tasty 😄I haven't been to very many places in the South of England outside of Cornwall. But I spent a couple of days in Farnham this January, attending to a friend's 80 years birthday. Farnham looks really beautiful and there is a number of self guided walks available to download online. One is called The Tree Walk, and there is also a sculpture park. I was sadly not able to do any long walking myself due to a twisted ankle, but I took a small stroll in the streets which I really enjoyed.I stayed at the Bush Hotel which was really good. Thank you for all your great videos and all your effort. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a really good road trip! Torunn 🥰

If your (south) UK road trip does take you into Wales, I'd suggest going to Llantwit Major, where we lived for four years after mistakenly leaving Cornwall! It's on the coast, about 15 miles west of Cardiff and is quite rustic in parts, with nice old lanes, buildings including St Illtyd church (Grade 1 listed), Dovecote and Boverton Place. St Illtud's College saw attacks by Saxons, Danes, Vikings and Normans. There are pleasant walks down to Colhugh Beach, which has the remnants of an Iron Age fort and Jurassic Period fossils ... not forgetting a popular beach cafe! There's a tourist office in town too.

Have a great Christmas! When you go on your grand tour, please come and visit East Devon (via Dartmoor on the B3212 of course!). Sidmouth, a regency seaside town with lots of castellated hotels and buildings is a lovely place to stay, especially the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel. There’s lots of sea glass on the beach, and the sandstone cliffs give the sea and the sand a reddish pink tinge. The sandstone cliffs along the beach towards Jacob’s Ladder beach have the imprints of plant roots showing from when the sandstone was a prehistoric desert, and you can continue the walk up onto the SW Coast Path for the most amazing views at Peak Hill (free car park up on the road there), and continue on to High Peak to the site of an old Iron Age hillfort, and then onto Ladram Bay with its sea stacks. Nearby is Otterton Mill, an old working flour mill with restaurant and lovely gift shop, which has amazing cream teas by the River Otter, where you can see beavers, kingfishers, and yes…otters!

That cafe at Poldhu is amazing always visit it when I'm in Cornwall. I order a new bobble hat from them every year for the mrs she has quite a collection now. Love the idea of a road trip on the south coast and if you venture out to the Kent coast there are some very interesting walks and places to visit. Maybe the Romney Marsh and Dymchurch with its tales of Dr Syn and pirates. A lovely walk along the white cliffs of Dover visiting Samphire hoe and caple le ferne. A lovely cafe on top of the cliff at caple looking out over the channel towards France which you can see on a clear day. Also the battle of Britain memorial is in caple aswell well worth a visit and if your lucky in the summer spitfires regularly fly over the site for visitors to see. Merry Christmas guys have a good one 👍

I did think Hat Man was wearing a fedora, lol. Your channel is magic, with the sights and sounds of your gorgeous coastline, 'then and now' photo comparisons, great old stories, and the spirit of adventure. Puns and 'Dad jokes' at no extra cost. Glad to hear your Mum is better, Sarah. It is the way of things, that when KZbinrs become more popular, they have less time to reply to comments on every video. You do an admirable job. I'm always glad to see your responses, but know it's better for all if you have more subscribers. Last Christmas you inspired me to walk with my husband along our coastline at La Jolla, California, enjoying the surf, sea lions, sea gulls, and cormorants that live in the Marine Refuge there. Best wishes to you and your family for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers!

Can’t wait for your road trip! Some places in the South you could visit are: Wells, Glastonbury, Bath, Lacock, Avebury Stone Circle, Dartmoor (specifically i love the Hound Tor and Fingle Bridge walks!), and in Wales: Tintern Abbey, Skirrid Mountain Inn (supposedly the most haunted pub in the UK) and the whole of the Brecon Beacons area which is stunning and very underrated. Check out Pen Y Fan or the Four Waterfalls walk. And if you like historical museums you must go the Big Pit museum and St Fagans. Oh and Caerphilly Castle to see the dragon! Have fun ❤

I recommend Beddgelert in Northern Wales for its stunning beauty and its legend of the famous noble hound who died tragically. You are dog lovers and may already know the story of the prince's faithful canine companion. I sat under a tree where he was buried.

Surprised you didn't cover the grave of the little boy who got killed by landmines on the beach there in WW2. He moved to Cornwall to avoid the blitz in London and lived with a Cornish family leaving his own family in London. He was playing on the beach and got blown up. His family were haunted by his death and were later also killed in the London blitz. His grave would make an interesting video.

Happy Christmas to both of you. Thanks for all your efforts with the videos. Can I suggest a couple of places for your South of England tour. Rye and Petworth, both historical towns in Sussex. Also Arundel with its castle. 🎄🎄🎅🎅

Oh my goodness, as soon as i saw the guy in the graveyard i recognised him as 'Hat man' he's identical to the figure i saw at the foot as my bed as a child, it absolutely petrified me at the time and all these years later i watched a video on youtube that mentioned the shadowy figure is a demon, i dont believe in ghosts myself so it made total sense to me. Horrible experience that thankfully has never been repeated in the 40+ years since.
