Thank you for this video and information. I've made a career change later in life after working in the sports media industry for over 20 years. I'm also a Veteran and was able to complete a CUSS program via a VRAP program. I've obtained ITIL 4, CompTia A+, and most recently SEC+ 701 certifications. I worked for an ISP for over a year and decided to move on to Cyber Security. I was having a hard time deciding which path to take but have decided to go with SOC Analyst. I just used your code with LetsDefend and saved 55% so thanks for that also. Keep doing what you do because your advice and knowledge help tremendously!

Are the labs in the learning path recognized as experience?
@Aries_AlphaАй бұрын
Home labs using relevant tools can be seen as practical experience. People seem to advise to have a github link to your physical projects.
@DerpinurfaceАй бұрын
@Aries_Alpha even tho most of labs in this are through browser?
@Aries_AlphaАй бұрын
@@Derpinurface I haven’t used any browser based simulations personally buy I know they do exist. All my labs are set up inside virtual machines at home so I can’t speak for any other type of practise. For example I use vms as clients via virtual box and then I use Elastic as my SIEM. I attack the SIEM via the vms with Nmap for example and then use the SEIM (elastic) to detect, document, implement rules, push alerts to certain locations and create dashboards that show the attacks in graphs and charts. Then I add that practical experience to my CV and my GitHub.

I have a question. I want to follow the SoC path on LetsDefend, and I would like to take the annual plan that charges $15 for VIP+. Obviously, it won't take me a year to finish the path, so I want to know if I can cancel the annual plan or if I can't until I finish the whole year?
@cycalo1707Ай бұрын
You would pay for the full year on one payment for annual option. It just explains if you were to split the annual payment into months then it would be 15$

Set the playback speed to 0.75 and she will sound normal. Also, Cybersecurity is not entry level. Knowing what a firewall is and configuring Fortinet/Check Point/Palo Alto/Cisco etc is not the same thing. Same with SIEM, SOAR, GRC, Risk Management/Assesment, Splunk/SQL/KQL/Python/Powershell. Create a portfolio and work your way up, magic pills don't exist.
