Lol, I earned (2) GIAC certs, GFACT and GISF. Pursuing GSEC. Currently, hold the Security+. Yes, I am currently working for a company and a SANS student in the BACS program. But I would not discourage anyone to pursue GIAC certs. Network+ is a waste of time and money. I would go for the CCNA. Cheers!

The problem is that Cybersecurity is unfortunately the next SWE. It gets too romanticized and people think that they can break in without much- IT’S A MASSIVE CHALLENGE TO BREAK IN. I think the Helpdesk route is a more viable way to break into it rather than trying to brute force your way in.

How was your transition from SWE to Cyber Security? I'm a Front End Engineer and my recent experience is with AWS so on-call/ops was also part of the job. I was told that I would have an advantage because of my background, but I'm also worried and scared that I might have a hard time looking for a cyber security role and that it might take a while.

STAY AWAY FROM SIMPLILEARN!!! I spent $4k on Simplilearn which half of it was paid by my employer but it was a total waste!! It just wasted my time for a few months and then I just put it aside and moved on. Just go for Udemy courses or other cheap courses. no need to spend a fortune!! My program had an MIT course! after I purchased the program I then realized it's only a one hour session with someone from MIT, kind of an introduction and then all teachers for main course are in India, teaching remotely. Second course I was hearing a lot of noises in the background and I stopped attending and some teachers had bad mics or bad accents which I could hardly understand. overall I attended a few classes from 3 or 4 courses and then I gave up.

Great video! I just passed my A+ certification. I spent two months studying for the 1101, but then refined my study strategy and completed the 1102 in just three weeks. I wouldn’t recommend cramming to anyone, but finding ways to make the study process smoother and less stressful is definitely important.

For security software developer interviews, do candidates need to prep on leetcode for ds and algos?

I really enjoy watching your videos but honestly, I think you're speeding it up. Can you please stop so we can actually understand what you're saying completely. If you are someone that knows exactly already the industry it makes sense but for anyone that's not and we're looking to get into the industry or we're looking to learn from you. You're speaking way too fast or you're speeding up the tape a little bit maybe so it doesn't waste people's times I'm sure you're doing something in editing to help speed of the process but honestly, it doesn't help at all. I hope you read this because it would be really helpful for newer people that really like your content to be able to retain it better.
