Recommendation for anyone new to boots, get a boot dryer! Keeps all the nasty stuff from festering in your sweaty boot, will allow them to last longer and will have them dry for the next ride!

Years ago I had my A Star Tech 8’s resoled and the company used Gaerne soles. Great quality. Currently have some SG12 LE’s still in the box from 2019. Bought for under $500. Should be great boots 👍

I got Gaerne Fastback - Love them. I would like to get the SG22, I saw them come into stores here in Asia back in Feb. But I can't afford them realistically. My Fastback seemed perfect right out of the box, no break in required. They are not nearly as hot and stuffy as my old cheap Oneals. I highly rate Gaerne as a brand.

My only complaint about a lot of these boots is the lack of any kind of pattern on the sole for traction. I get it, their meant for MX. But they just don't make trail boots that offer this much protection for trail use. And, dang, if you've ever dumped your bike in the mud on any kind of slope and had to try and get any kind of traction with these boots......you invent new 4 letter words.

The biggest problem of Sg12 for me is memory foam. It can absorb up to 300g of water and you need days(!) to dry it even with a heat blower. If you live in humid climate, don't even expect it to dry it out naturally between weekends. As I understood sg22 use same foam.

@@DirtBikeChannel I leave mine on, and replace them when they ultimately disappear on a ride (which happens every 6 months or so). I find that if you happen to hit a rock with the front of the boot, having the metal toe cap, it tends to 'glance off' the rock, whereas with the softer rubber/leather/fabric front (without the toe cap), then tend to catch a little more. I just feel I'm less likely to get caught on something and also seem less likely to get injured since the boot tends to bounce off rocks more easily.

Gaerne enduro boots felt great on my feet I loved the fit and finish but I couldn’t feel the shifter or brake. Went to the alpenstar 7 drystar. The tow box is smaller so I run a thinner sock and that makes them comfortable. I can actually feel the brake and shifter now. I wander to love my Gaerne but was disappointed. I’m a 10.5 as well I went 11 in both. I prob could have and should have gone 10 in the Gaerne. I make custom orthotics and have them in both. The alpenstars also grip the bike better. Support and protection is basically the same

The SG-22's make the SG-12's feel like concrete space boots. They are much lighter. The toe box is alot more roomier. It is much easier to shift and you have alot more feel on the pegs. They feel like they are broken in out of the box yet they are still very stiff and they hug your ankle. Hands down.... they best boots on the market today.

Sorry for the ignorance but I’m brand new to motocross boots and I’m not sure how the SG22s should fit. I wear a size 11 USA in nearly every tennis shoe, but 10.5 in work boots. Do you think I’d be better off with the 11s? And as far as fitting with motocross boots do you follow the general rule of “thumb” as the space between your toes and the end of the boot?
