Anybody having trouble with this boss, go to Second Church of Marika, you'll get invaded and the invader will drop a crystal you can mix in your Flask of Wondrous physick, it gives you a shield that tanks his Nihil! Attack, all 3 rings will do nothing instead of making you bleed

You can just cheese him by going on the Tombstones right to his entrance and jump in to the Arena without using the Fogwall. He will not agro no matter what you do

From there just blast him with arrows or bolts and save yourself quite possibly the worst fight in the game.

Yup. This is like Iudex/Champion Gundyr. Although what weirds me out is that Elemer in Caelid is like legit two times stronger than his true self in Altus Plateau. The Caelid Bell Bearing Knight holds the record for killing me consecutively at five. By comparison, Malenia only killed me once, and Malekith, Godfrey, Placidusax and most others literally zero. He's the toughest boss in Soulsborne in my opinion. Kinda dumb.

I got here WAY earlier than I should have been. Like WAY earlier through Vare’s quest. I couldn’t do shit to him but also i didn’t want to leave. Eventually I kept getting him in his second phase and my +1 jellyfish wasn’t cutting it. So I summoned, thought at least distraction would be good. Both people I summoned started jumping on rocks and pointing to them. I thought there was an item or something. One of them made it up there and the other one and I were still jumping. Before long I realized boss’s health was going down like crazy. The other guy made it past too. I was just there. Entered the fog door and I see these guys just whacking at the boss with bleed without him moving. He started to move as soon as I entered and gained a little health back but by then it was too late. He was dead before I even got near him. I mean I was glad I got 300k runes and leveled me up insanely, but at the same time I felt cheated out of a win. But yeah. Apparently that’s an exploit

@@Skilow That's part of the reason why. Another is their speed, their incredible range, and their relatively high damage and great potential for weapon arts. Straight swords have horizontal slashes too, but aren't used in PvP at all. In fact it's interesting how straight swords, greatswords and curved swords have completely taken a backseat from where they were in DS3. I kinda miss them, especially greatswords. Once you got good with something like the Black Knight, Claymore, or Wolf Knight, it just felt incredible to use them both in PvE and PvP. Now they're too slow, and have far too little reach. It's like your character just doesn't put effort into his swings. In DS3 they were fluid, and your character stepped forward with each attack allowing you some sneaky hits.

If you ever wanna try DS3 again a fire build is rly helpful against that first boss! I am shit at souls games but that was the way I got past that guy (only to die to a dragon in the next zone and not advance 🥴 lmao). His name, Iudex, also means 'judge' in latin and learning that made me want to prove to him/the game that I was good enough to continue lol. Elemer's moveset upsets me greatly. You get his weapon and it is the single most disappointing weapon art in the game because of how cool the fight was. You get literally one move from his moveset and it is the worst one, not even a follow-up attack.

Fun fact: there is very few non-optional bosses, practically non to the end game. You need 2 great runes to enter the capital but not 2 in especific, so godrick,rennala, radahn, mogh, etc are all technically optional. You will always need 4 bosses to enter the capital, radahn* is the shardbearer with no prior bosses + draconic tree sentinel. Other shardbearers need 1 boss prior.

a tip for lots of free runes especially late game: Everytime I beat a big boss I immedietly eat a gold pickled fowl foot and quickly go into my inventory and swap the nearest talisman with the gold scarab. The window can be pretty tight sometimes but especially bosses who speak a line upon defeat take longer to grant their runes...that way Mogh gave me upwards of 620.000 runes and I didn't have to waste a precious talisman slot. But eat the fowl foot first as it takes a little until the buff gets applied and you can use the time it takes to eat it to go into your inventory and prepare the talisman swap...also it's kinda frustrating wasting a fowl foot by eating it just a second to late

You get like 500k souls without bonuses if you kill him so if you go to mohg straight after godrick via varre's quest you can easily get probably like 20 levels at that stage of the game.

I think Radahn is arguably the best boss in gaming history. He was the only boss that didn’t make me rage quit (even tho it took me at least 50 tries), and actually made me applaud the game after beating him. It was a challenge and it wasn’t unfair, and it was a helluva lot of fun. Plus the lore of the game is insane, so it really made the fight feel organic. Only one to rival it was probably Eredin at the end of The Witcher 3 but that’s about it. FromSoft really killed it with Radahn.

I love mohg. Technically you could call him a main boss since he gives a rune that can be one of two you use to access the capital. Also I would definitely say malenia is the hardest elden ring boss, but not the hardest souls boss. She has a lot more weaknesses like parry and bleed compared to someone like midir, plus elden ring is just overall one of the easiest souls games because you can become super op or use ash summons (they are an intentionally included part of the game that wouldn't be in it if you weren't meant to use them. We all summoned solaire for the ds1 gargoyles fight how is this any different)
