I had the opposite experience, for some reason the beginning part of the haligtree killed me more times than melania did. Only boss that took me more than like 30 mins was Radahan. He took me 2 hours, that was brutal.

@@BlackOrkid777 yea I had way harder time with Radahan and other bosses. then I did with Melania. I think its because Radahan you have to know hi s pattern as he delays his hits so much only for them to come out lightening quick. Same with other bosses. Whereas melana came out the gate swinging fast as fuck and allowed me to go back to turning off my brain and just reacting. That probably also part of the reason people found her so difficult to fight. The whole game basically trains you to not react and actually learn the bosses patterns and Melania comes in and says "fuck that if your thinking your too slow".

@@virtualmartini well that is a stretch because of course repetition eventually makes a hard thing easy. Not every strat is necessarily hard to do but some are. So i would say taking everything together it is hard to do a speedrun because you need to learn everything, apply it and you also need a lot of patience which is like the most important component. You will play the same game on end and eventually it comes down to seconds and you will have countless runs where some dumb shit happens that makes you restart again. So yeah it is tons of repetition but that doesn't make it less hard.

Most of the tech in this speedrun was nerfed last night. - Hoarfrost stomp doing significantly less dmg and the royal knights resolve doesn't work on spells and arts anymore. Wrong warps still working but some runners are saying the record will be 30-40 mins with the new patch

Keep in mind to anyone watching, the v1.03 update that was just pushed out killed +9 Hoarfrost and Royal Knight's Resolve buff. The speedrun as it stands simply doesn't exist on v1.03, and new runs will either be on the old patch or have a different route. It's not clear if the Elden God glitch works in v1.03 either.

@penguinz0 for the Godskin Duo's rolling attack, if you manage to get to the side of the roll you can just target lock and strafe in the opposite direction he is rolling if you are close enough because his turn speed is not high enough to catch you. It's really hilarious dodging it that way and doesn't require panic rolling (except maybe the first time if you are too far away when he starts it). Although I haven't tried it, but if his turn speed is truly low enough you might be able to just get close enough to stand still and maybe get some hits in.

50% of a speedrun is learning your route, the other 50% is then executing your route and boss fights down to a T. Specially now for guys like Dist, he's got his runs so clean now that if a bosses AI doesn't do the right attack or he misses one attack it can literally kill a run and even on the best of runs because you reset for small mistakes fatigue becomes a thing and then mistakes happen even more. It's really a true skill to do these. Yes anyone can run the game fast using these methods and skips but you might cut your runs down to a few hours. These guys are already sub 30 and still shaving minutes off their times.

It's not "hard if you don't use certain weapons" it's just hard. Moonveil needs to be nerfed as well. Also as someone who used hoarfrost, it 100% needed a nerf. The game shouldn't just be roll, L2. That's how it's been in every other souls game except it was roll, R1. Everyone complained about that. There was no point to using anything else, and it got old fast.

What i suggest is get your steam save files and keep save files for Maliketh, Radagon, and Elden Beast That way you can kill them then retry their fight till you mastered their AI

Unless this is an older video pre patch the weapon buffing doesn't effect spells and skills anymore. Also then just assume he is playing an unpatched version.

If you get into their arena in the not intended way they don’t register that the battle has started yet so they don’t do anything

Devs sometimes purposely code things specifically with speedrunners in mind. IGN has a dev reacts to speedruns playlist and they seem to love the runs

It would probably be more disheartening if it was one of those glitch abusing speedruns where they do some flashy trick, clip through the entire map and fling themselves at mach 689 thousand and then beat the final boss by smashing their keyboards with a hammer and closing and opening the game repeatedly. and then get a 20 second world record for a game with a 200 hour long main campaign. Like imagine spending years to make a game as perfect as possible and then you see someones live stream is entirely dedicated to abusing all of the flaws in your game.
