In today’s digital world, I actually prefer imperfect lenses. They add certain characteristics that are reminiscent of vintage lenses and will help add a unique look to your work!

I use this lens professionally when I'm trying to create a vintage look. When paired with the original Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, it helps create a beautiful vintage look. Has a lot of character to it. And in this day of 8K video... I'm way more interested in style than sharpness.

I bought this a few weeks ago for the BMPCC4K and had pretty good results so far. When I first discovered this lens on B&H I wondered what the catch was. So the sharpness is the catch, though I haven't noticed it. Before finding this lens I had unsuccessfully searched for lenses compatible with the BMPCC4K that don't cost as much as an entire new DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema camera body.

I have three Kamlan lenses and they are really impressive you should try them out. The 50mm f1.1 mk2 is a bokeh beast combined with their 28mm f1.4 and using a high end variable ND on them both for aperture control gives amazing shots. Add a mattebox to increase contrast and control flares and you'll get even more beautiful cinematic images. In the right hands some of these inexpensive dslr lenses do deliver on character with that needed slight hint of softness found in legacy cine lenses of Hollywood fame. Most DP's will tell you that the modern cine lenses lack character, are far to sharp for filming people and have to use filters and lighting tricks to give a more palliative image and that's why some of the older famous cine lenses are selling for huge money if they come on the market.

@cameronnotcamron95685 жыл бұрын
@@kingsamvisuals thank you . I'm a fairly new to all this. I'm mainly trying to make videos but I dont really care to much about 4k. iv heard alot of bad things about working with 4k footage and but I could be swayed. if I did get a fuji or the a6400 I would probably get it used .. what do you think ? Are there significant upgrades from the fuji to the a6000 and from a6000 to a6400? I was looking at the M50 because the screen is awsome and people act like sony is way more complicated then canon .
@kingsamvisuals5 жыл бұрын
@@cameronnotcamron9568 I'D say as a beginner Canon m50 is the best bet. Less than $600 with kit lens especially on ebay. The a6400 and xt30 are about $1000. The a6000 is pretty old and lacks touchscreen, has no mic input and the viewfinder is meh. I stick with Canon for their user experience. The only other system I'd consider is fuji because I love their film simulations. So yeah get the m50. There are some nice affordable efs lenses if you get the adapter.
