Given how much Raspberry PI4B is selling for now-a-days, you might as well get a mini PC instead.

Nuc with the N6005 is a great machine. I have been using it as my daily workstation for web browsing, email etc and it is very snappy! Definitely chugs at times, but the PCIE 3.0 x2 NVME is fast enough to help it feel fast. I am going to upgrade it to a Ryzen 7000 series mini PC when they come to market.
@VeryIntellijent Жыл бұрын
I'd steer cleer of a Ryzen 7000 series mini PC purely because of thermals...they have a thick IHS to keep compatibility with AM4 coolers. Really hurts them.

@robtech I hadn't found your channel until a few months ago and completely missed this review until now. Having seen the link on the brand new 'best of...' for the more expensive models, it was fun to see this one and I think separating them and judging them fairly (based on cost category) was a great idea.

In the meanwhile a GK3V Pro came out, it only costs 140 usd and has the 5105 cpu, and i think the 8gb version comes with 2x4gb config, so dual channel.

I'm waiting for an Intel NUC with the N100 processor. The non NUC models reviewed seem affordable but are risky - high failure rate after a few months due to low quality no-brand internals.

So the beelink u59 is the best on this list for prebuilt options. The 16gb 500 model is $215 right now, thinking about getting one to bring media streaming direct to my TV. Mirroring my tablet with the chromecast gets old fast.

Hi! Can you include gaming streaming tests like Steam Streaming or Parsec or Moonlight? Most of the time I use mini PCs like these I won't play games directly on them but use the streaming function. Thanks
@Robtech2 жыл бұрын
Okay, it's something I can add. What are you looking for in the streaming function? Is it latency or something else (as I don't stream)?
@kiss4luna2 жыл бұрын
@@Robtech yeah. streaming latency, resolution, color integrity, etc. On my J4160 mini PC the streaming can't even keep constant connection or FPS, so I think a benchmark like this kind would be very useful.

@@Robtech Line 6 Helix Native just suggests a 2 core at 2GHz as the requirement but I don't know if I should go significantly higher in order to make sure there is no lag. Past a certain price, it makes more sense to get a dedicated device.

Which of these can run a video editor like Davinci Resolve?
@Robtech2 жыл бұрын
None of these budget minis will be very good for video editing. They can run Davinci Resolve, but depending on what you're doing, it's likely to be a slow, sluggish or unusable experience. You'll need to go something more mid-range or higher, but it's a hard question to answer since it depends on so many factors during the edit (resolution, length of project, no. of tracks, bitrate, effects etc.)
