Big fat THANKS to you my dude, my laptop is about to die and I am freaking tired of laptops Im done with them, I will get for the first time ever a Desktop PC around Black Friday (not for gaming, Im a console gamer) but for casual video editing/image editing and most importantly surfing on the internet.. @@vmuzika not completely but there is a driver that you can download from the Samsung's website that helped a bit. and I'd recommend you to try out the settings and you'll find a better image quaility.

I have this monitor too , the thing about it that bothers me kind of is the colors they look really good but they are kinda weird i feel like ive tweaked the settings a million times and each time it looks totally different, even if you set the refresh rate on standard or fastest it looks very different idk what settings should i stick to at this point

Yep, theres a dynamic setting somewhere in the display that makes it change its brightness/contrast depending on the content being displayed. Its somewhere hidden in the settings but you can turn it off and then it won't look weird anymore. Mine did the same

Samsung has always been known for oversaturating colors to unnatural levels, now they are doing it on a budget monitor like this. These budget series all have 6 bit + FRC panels. I put my LG IPS of the same budget level side by side with an OLD TV with 10 bit TN panel. And it looked like comparing a color display with a black and white one (The 6 bit + FRC panel). You really can't expect any better from a 6 bit monitor. Specially when It's made by a company like Samsung which is well known for twisting the colors to unnatural oversaturated levels. Sorry bout that.

@@PersiaAhmad These are some of the cheapest monitors you can find with an 8 bit native panel, no FRC. They're actually quite color accurate out of the box, depending on your luck with IPS glow.

Great review! Could you force the resolution from 1920x1080 to bigger resolution in this monitor? I have some issued that the display of some application might be bigger than using "more space" in retina display in macbook. Thank you!

Hey, thank you! It doesn't seem like it's possible to force a bigger resolution, however you can change the scale of the resolution on your built in Retina display on your MacBook by heading over to System Preferences>Displays>Resolution: and change it to scaled. You can pick how you want the built in Retina display to scale. Hope this helps :-)

My question for you before I buy this monitor is: How is ghosting? When you showed us a zoomed view of your pointer (to compare the refresh rate) it seemed like there was a bit of ghosting there. Is it really noticeable (especially during gaming or in dark areas)? Very good review!

Thank you! It could be because of my shutter speed, but I haven't noticed any ghosting at normal and a slightly higher response rates. I have noticed it when playing with my Switch in an accelerated response (highest) state. My assumption is that those modes will work best with computers that support FreeSync. Other than then, I haven't noticed any at all. :-)

Hey thank you! If you’ve got an HDMI splitter cable for audio, maybe. But if you’re plugging in your laptop to it, outputting to your laptop or connecting an audio device to your laptop is the best bet.

Yeah, I use macOS. So in display settings I lowered the refresh rate to 60Hz. I think by default it runs at 60Hz on devices that aren’t compatible with 75.

Yes, it can be angled to face upward and downward. It’s stiff enough to stay still and good enough to adjust it easily

Hey great video! Few questions: 1. Seems like yours is S24R356 instead of LS24R350 (Since 350 has a silver border). Can you confirm? 2. There are mixed comments regarding the neck angle adjustment for this monitor. What's the reality? 3. Currently there is a price difference of appx 2k in between both the models. Hey, thank you! 1. Yep, I've got the S24R356 2. Neck Angle adjustment is present, it moves the monitor back (up tilt) and slightly forward (tilt down). 3. As far as I know I haven't seen any differences between the two, I've looked into both listings and I can't see anything. Hope that answers your queries :-)
