I picked up 7 different colors a few months ago. I'm super happy with them. Amberglow is like a one coat rust which I love. Like all paint, these are a tool to be used in different ways. I never just slap on contrast and call it done. So I don't expect that from these dippings inks. Love that some are thin so I can build up layers and control the intensity of the final result.

Well said! I did find myself using both versions. I just think it's something to be aware of if it's being bought as a budget option.

Damn I was really looking forward to these, but I think it's a hard pass for me, maybe I'll pick up the purple series, cause I've got a huge slaanesh army to paint.

Did you have to use a varnice over the dipping inks before using speedpaints ?

No, the dipping inks don't reactivate.

I try to avoid GSW as a rule, considering their history of poor business practices. Taking artist work without permission, credit, or payment, patenting existing products and suing the inventor out of business, all while using a product they don't own as their business name.

I fully agree with you Bret and will go out of my way to avoid GSW products. Some people are callous and don't care, but some people do. To each their own. But GSW is a scum company and I will celebrate when they some day shut down.

It takes a lot of practice to get good at it. I try not to compare my painting skills to other ppl. It's also not for everybody. Like if you enjoy other aspects of the hobby more than the painting, and don't want to put too much effort into it, there's nothing wrong with that.
