BEST Build for Going FAST - Poison Blade Vortex Assassin League Start Guide - Path of Exile 3.14

Just a heads up to anyone attempting this build - leave flame dash at level 15 unless you have a surplus of Int. You don't have the int to support it and it doesn't scale much anyway. You'll need about 20 more int from your tree or from items than this PoB includes to be able to use cold iron points. Obliterations require a lot more. He kind of glosses over the Despair on rings bit but reliably applying despair makes up a significant chunk of the build's damage against regular enemies. Rings work well, but you can also get despair on hit as a corrupted implicit on gloves - hands of the high templar are a common option once the league has progressed a bit. Impresence amulet also works while supporting despair with blasphemy for free - a potentially cheaper (at least after a week or two in league) but less efficient method than using curse on hit items. Something to notice - your chance to poison actually falls to 95% without Coralito's active in this build so you should look out for a [5% chance to poison, 8% poison duration] modifier on one of your jewels to compensate - not too hard to find. Lastly, the PoB shows 12 stacks of wither - you won't be able to achieve this with just withering step as far as I know, as it only applies 6, meaning the dps calculation is about 2m too high. Wither is another great way to scale damage if struggling against bosses - check out wither totem setups if you're interested. Enjoy the league!

@@goguma-cr3di I should say that I'm probably exaggerating a bit. Despair isn't strictly necessary to get good damage if the rest of your build is well-tuned. It's more that if you're able to get it it's a very efficient way to scale things up relative to other options if you can afford it. More of a consideration for extending into endgame mapping and bossing than a strict necessity for a league starter.

Ive spent many hours and exalts on my summoner this league, the first build ive managed to get to endgame with.. And I am blown away at how cheap and effective this one is compared to it.. Right out of the box without even an exalt of gear It is able to clear low red maps (without even unlocking all of the ascendancies!) I saved up a few exalts from your heist guide(also very useful to people needing currency without great endgame gear) to gear up for this, and didn't need to break a single one of them. Thanks for making this incredibly difficult game that much easier bigducks, peace.

Hey i was using this build for magic find in standard..but i suggest few damage upgrades.. Use impresence amulet for free despair blasphemy setup. And use blasphemer grasp gloves for more DOT. ( Can corrupted for temp chains on hit nd go whispers doom too) Wat u think on this damage upgrades?

How did you move from Cobra Lash to blade vortex ? I'm still on Cobra Lash at lvl 65. If i get near enemies with Blade Vortex as a main, they slap and kill me really fast, with Cobra at least i can stay away and be safe. How to fix this ?

Imo Burning Arrow starter is worst out of all presented by Big Ducks. You will be stuck with armageddon brand for pretty long time, and arma brand falls of itself on red maps anyway.

I just leveled one up yesterday in standard to 85 I think, damage was meh consider I was using a 6 linked xoph bow with anima stone and three eminences, all other gears are just random life res.

What about spell echo supporting blade vortex? Or maybe faster casting? For one less poison-related gem. I found myself spamming blade vortex too much, sucking more mana and sometime dying because of the cast taking too long. I will be taking more spell duration in the tree, but I was wondering what's your opinion on using either spell echo or faster casting

a good tip is to never recast in the middle of a pack, whirling out while keeping fortify up, cast and go back in. After i stopped doing that i found myself surviving way more, also with your onslaught flask and maybe a bit more casting speed (i use unholy grace on cluster since its way cheaper and the cast speed is nice) it should feel decent. I dont know how are you having mana problems tho, since we have eldritch battery on a energy shield helmet so that's weird. But well if you think your dmg is enough without a supp gem you can always go for one of your quality of life gems and try it out, its gonna be a big difference on bosses tho, because most of our clear is from plague bearer and not bv anyways. Hope this helps

It’s a dodge based build, if you can’t get your dodge up high enough early use a flask to get it, if you’re running a dodge based build without high dodge it will seem squishy Bc you arent spec’d far enough into any defense or dodge. Level 81 I’m sitting around 4.2k hp with high dodge and rarely get hit before something dies, you also have to practice being in melee range for bosses which also make it “seem” squishy but it’s just about pathing

Love the video - found a couple of questions, is the Rotgut quicksilver flask any good on this build? Is there an easy way to add frenzy? Cluster jewels? Also, with the cluster jewel, for one extra point you can get a large jewel slot at the bottom, who’s entry nodes give 8% evasion rating instead of the 4% projectile speed and I don’t think anything on the build counts as a projectile so would this make any difference?

Yep... You might want to change Cinderswallow out. Just tried it out and you do not ignite at all if you have Cold Point Irons Equipped. Easily noticeable when I switched off of Cold Point Irons to random rares when I do ignite, where you can see the ignite effect on the corpse.

He used a 6 link set up in his rare chest. Also, vaal blade vortex works as a regular skill as well. So just consider it the normal blade vortex and go for a 5-6link set up

I'm pretty sure it's not instant for him either. I've been playing this build since I started this League and I find using whirling blades/flame dash puts you far enough from the enemy to be able to cast it without putting yourself at too great of a risk of getting hit. The build also has enough cast speed so using your cry doesn't hinder you for too long

Hello, I have a question as I am quite newbie when it comes to game mechanics. There's a potion in this build called "Coralito's Signature", and one of its mods says "Your critical striked do not deal extra damage during flask effect". Why would we pick suggested keystones that increase critical strike multiplier then? Isnt it like that extra damage from critical strikes will be erased with the potion? Besides that question which bothers me, the build is awesome, thanks!

I'm not too sure myself, but I assume it has to do with increasing poison duration, which is the source of damage of this build. I think the purpose for crit is to increase chance of poisoning or some other form. I can verify this because in POB you don't actually lose much damage by equipping it, rather we increase poison duration. in any case I'm unsure as well but the program is fairly accurate and so trust the numbers :D

I think binos is still good for highly packed enemies with boss encounters specialy for simulacrums because. you get to kosis and all packs near him dies. instantly all poison is on kosis. it triples damage for it but other than that yeah binos are almost useless and has realy small radius

He just doesn't do a great job explaining where, when, or how I get the gears he talks about. I get it though, he doesn't say this is a beginners guide so I shouldn't expect it to be one. Hello, I got my build up to lvl 91 so far and enjoying it. First dagger has increased area of effect (blue gem), empower support (red gem), plague bearer (green gem). 2nd dagger all 3 red gems, increased duration, immortal call, and cast when damage taken. 3 links for both daggers. Enjoy!

any bow/quiver, if you can afford it use obliteration wands until you can get ahold of cold irons, and diadam. the wands provide really good clear, but if you use them with the diadam it sometimes doesn't give you corpses to use.

Start off as shadow. Once you do your normal lab, you will be able to ascend. Pick the assassin ascendency.

@@nomonetosaxl yes, you have to keep recasting it. Once you get unleash support, that'll help (you only need to cast 3 times instead of 10). You should also get skill effect duration from the tree - they are near the middle of the tree. BigDucks says in the video we can get them later, but I personally got them very early. They are a huge qol and you only need to recast every few seconds.

@@stoosh you won't do damage with the fire damage. it's meant to proc ignite on crit, and cinderswallow then recovers your life when your helm devours the ignited corpses. I ignored this mechanic as assassin life recovery from poison kills was more than enough to keep me topped up at full life!

The BV nerfs seem negligible to me IMO, as for ulti’s as long as you keep plague bearer, Vaal BV spinning, and are constantly moving with blade whirl/dash you should be fine, just stay away from the cold modifier on ulti’s most others we won’t care about

You summon 2 skitterbots. 1 of them shocks enemies near it (making them take 50% more dmg from all sources) and the other chills enemies near it (slowing them down in case you need to kite). I'm not sure if there's a better aura to use for this build but Big Ducks recommended this so...*shrug*

Stick with it. Maybe take the time to make sure you have good resists and a few +HP items. Also the ultimatum encounters are just hard and I wouldnt gauge the build off those while levelling

I always forget to keep my resists up. I am almost at max resist now and it seems a lot better. Still dying on boss fights but it's a lot better than it was before. Thanks guys.
