@moderntentcamping I ride an ATV & Suzuki Samurai. I 🏕 camp/ride in the Tillamook State Forest (Diamond Mill) 250miles of trails.wilderness & also Oregon Dunes. I tent/truck camp in remote area. It has lots of steep ridges & trails not for family or novices, Beautiful scenery hardly see anyone

Great info. I carry a variety of knives for different reasons. I have about 5 that I carry in my kitchen box. Nice to know I’m not alone😊.

What knives do you have ad what do you use them for?

Thank you for the note. I hope it was helpful. The more I use a mid-size knife - the more I love them. And I use them both in our camp kitchen and our home kitchen. Hope you have a great Christmas or holiday season.

Interesting....I used alot of Stainless steel MORA camp knives ...but then... I noticed one of the cook elders in my community, using a Fish Fillet knife for food prep, and was amazed at the easy slicing done by it, with meat, and veggies...I switched to a small fillet knife , which I cut the blade down from 7inches to 4.5 inches...for 20 yrs I've been using this & never looked back. The blade has enough flex in it , to get those super thin meat slices but doesn't break. It is full tang for the strength and the handle is non slip. I also spent some time with a japanese stone , to get the desired sharpness .

Sounds like you discovered the best multi-purpose food prep kitchen knife long before I did. If we ever sat down together, we might have a lot to talk about.

The Wustof 4.5! I did not realize how many knives there were out there until I started looking for that one 😃

@@moderntentcamping I did not find the exact one. I found something like it similar on Amazon. I was looking to see if you had links on your website so I could support your website but I didn't see anything 😕

How about the Opinel Garden knife instead of a No. 10 as it's stainless steel
@moderntentcamping Жыл бұрын
I think our #10 is stainless. Never used the garden knife. In general, Opinel is good as a secondary knife and we pack 2 of them - but I would not pack one as my ONLY kitchen knife. It’s too lightweight and flimsy. A good fixed blade would be a much more versatile knife. Thanks for watching and sending this note.
