Curious Why you didn't include the Ego 20" Farm and Ranch? I was hoping to see what you thought! I have the 18" and it is a great saw.
@Protoolreviews7 ай бұрын
We actually just received that saw in the shop! We've got a lot more hands on testing to do before we can make a definitive call on it, but keep an eye out as it very well could be included in future updated articles/videos!

I also have been running the 18" for 3 years. What a stud. That said, I'm skipping over the 20" Ranch and going straight to the 20" Pro.

The CSX5000 commercial series Ego is out and that trumps the CS2000 20 inch. It will outcut a 60cc gas at 30m/s and probably the MSA300C. 3.5kw
@johnkrisovitch6911 сағат бұрын
@Protoolreviews i got one too. And I've had the 18 last year. Both run great. There is also a commercial grade ego 20". 72 drive link standard style chain. Wider bar. cs 2005 is a lp 69 drive link . 3/8 .05 Guage. Lil more pain for grabbing chains. But 5 trees in. No issues. Commercial grade also gives a load meter on the screen. And oiler adjustment. But the m18 20" coming out looks to be a beast.@ 70 cc " equivalent "

Lop, I take it you have never owned or used EGO?

All of the saws were of the same Chinese company with the exception of Stihl and Husqvarna. Not having a thing on DeWalt, which is the most used battery saw by pros after Stihl, with the exception of a quick mention is very questionable.

Project Farm does honest reviews and DeWalt and Echo stomped the majority of other saws. Disappointed to see an Ryobi but no DeWalt, considering I own BOTH I know the DeWalt blows the doors off the Ryobi.

I've got a 16" Ego chainsaw with 5ah battery and their 10" pole saw bare tool from 3 years ago and have been happy with both. Watching videos to get motivated to break them out this season and there is a heat wave. lol

When I read the positive endorsements of the ego chainsaw I am suspicious of how much these owners are actually using their devices. I'm a homeowner but with a large hardcore yard with major hedges and small trees. Even with what I consider minimal use the ego 16 inch chainsaw is a nightmare of chain slipping off after mere seconds at times. Regardless if it is small limbs, hedges, tree limbs that are free of twists, the chain will not stay on, and that includes professional tensioning. Interior parts of the machine around the sprockets are actually plastic, and I've been told this is the reason. If your chain constantly slips you simply can't use the device. I am NOT alone-this is a common problem. I was on a camping trip and met up with guys using STIHL battery chainsaws. The owner told me he has zero issues with chain slippage.

@@pf4773 i ended up buying the 16 inch chainsaw before hurricane Beryl hit and it’s been working well cutting all the fallen trees on my 4 acre property. haven’t had those issues with slipping. i also got the push mower and it’s cutting very thick tall grass after water settled. i’m surprised it’s capable enough to power through it all.

I bought the Milwaukee M12 hatchet just for pruning, and it has been excellent! I did look at the M18, but in the UK it was way too expensive!
@txvet77387 ай бұрын
I bought the M12 hatchet myself before Milwaukee came out with the M18 version. I swapped the 6” bar/chain for the M18 8” bar/chain and it still works great for me.

@reusefull there are work arounds, several videos on them on here. I have the 2000, works great, I havnt had any battery or charger problems myself, even with knock off batteries...
@reusefull22 күн бұрын
@joshuaclaygaines The 2000 has been pretty good, but I haven't found a good way to keep batteries from overheating with the 5000 if it's getting used hard. I figure that it will be OK when the next generation of batteries comes out. I tried the 10ah and the 12ah, I tried changing the 8 spur for a 7, but I get about 6 big cuts no matter what and the battery gets hot. I did some videos on it. So far of the electric chainsaws, the Ego CS2000 and Greenworks 60v 20 inch are my favorites. Not a fan of the 69 drive link chain just because of availability, but that's a pretty small complaint overall.
@txvet77387 ай бұрын
I went with the Milwaukee M18 Top handle as my all purpose saw and the Greenworks 20” 60v for my large jobs. That Greenworks is a beast! Would y’all consider the dedicated Milwaukee pole saw over the Quik-Lok pole saw attachment for a DIYer?
@reusefull4 ай бұрын
That 60v Greenworks is the best deal going on my opinion... especially kitted with the 8ah battery and charger for $500

The telescoping Milwaukee Pole saw is an absolute beast! It’s as fast through wood as my Stihl gas saw. Buy one! Factory Authorized outlet will have it 20% off for Memorial Day. $480 plus tax is a deal. It’s 10x the saw of the quick lock pole saw.

Yeah I was looking at a bigger electric chainsaw I have a small one really cheap but I was looking at this Toro chainsaw I saw online it was electric and it was only $150 don't know how good it was but it was 60 volts and I think a 16-in bar if I need to dig into it cuz it seems like a good price a good deal for the price

Why does no one evaluate the Kobalt 80-volt brushless 18" chainsaw with a 5ah battery? I have (2) Kobalt 80-volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and use (2) 5 AH Batteries. Using it on a Southeast LA farm that was devastated my Hurricane and has been working absolutely great even cutting huge logs and trees. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. We have cut 20"+_ logs and it works like a charm. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw. My first 80-volt 18" Bar Chain saw with a 5-AH Battery and charger was $400 in Jul 2021
