Best cheap leverless controller? hautepad g13 - g16 review (now Sehawei fight stick)

My GF got me this for my birthday and we also tried the larger T16 controller which is the size you "expected". We preferred the smaller one, especially because of the keyboard switches (I already exchanged the directional ones with some I had lying around). The large pad was really cool too.

It is a great device. In tekken though the technique of rapid scratching the lower tip of buttons for quick KBD won't work. The caps fly off the buttons.

@@MrEpicWinner would there be any negative effects to just supergluing the caps to the switches? I'm not too fond of the idea of caps flying off

@@Edooongular actually I found a better solution - just get different switches. I got OUTEMU OTM half height switches. No popping off with them at all. They are cheap.

Just as a future tip, when pulling switches from a board, you should insert the puller on the sides of the switch. In just about any switch there should be small pins that when presser inwards with the puller make the switch loosen up and come off easily.

I actually edited about 10 seconds of me fighting to get that switch out, it was in there real good and tried at every angle imaginable haha, wasn't anywhere near as bad on the other switches, that one was just super tough!

Nice review! The WSAD buttons are very close to the rest of the buttons, looks like you need to keep your hands close together, does it cause discomfort or does it feel ok?

Thanks bro! nope, ive got big fat hands and its super comfortable, especially with a wrist rest in a normal typing type position, can game for hours with it!!

what's the difference between the g13/16 and the s13/16 ?

g13 and 16 is just the number of switches, the g16 has 3 more buttons than the one in this video with 13 bottons. not sure what the S13/16 differences are other than the location of the mini screen? look very similar to me lol

@@YoukayTV ahh thanks. I was actually asking about the difference between the g and a series and after a little searching the differences seem to be the switches and the input screen locations. ig the extra up button is also moved over slightly on the g series to accommodate for the screen

@@jurkey6482 You are absolutely correct. The G series has mechanical switches the S series does not. Other than that its just weight and screen placement.

hey buddy, no that's just for connecting to different consoles, for PC, this is literally just plug in, set keybindings in your game, and play!!

Picked one up on sale for 40$ shipped, excited to try different switches as a keyboard enthusiast the full size hotswap sockets are a gamechanger compared to most other leverless style controllers that only offer low profile sockets.

I don't believe so, its listed as ps3/4/PC - there may be an adapter to make it compatible with xbox though! look into the mayflash adapters, hear they make good affordable stuff
