Mizuno 20k jacket is also an excellent option. 20,000 hydrostatic head, lightweight, strong chest pocket, packable and accepted at mandatory kit for almost all trail races. RRP £140, but can be found for as cheap as £70. A regularly updated jacket (much like the Brooks Canopy and NB Impact models). Older versions ncan be found too.

Harrier Exmoor & Dartmoor Waterproof Jackets. 89 Pounds. Bought it to run in the winter here in Canada, since it allows for wearing the jacket over or under a running vest. Since I was having terrible issues with my chest mounted soft flasks freezing solid. It's 15k water proof rating, and 15k breathable. It can get a bit warm on hard/long efforts. But it includes side vents and a press stud mid chest so you can wear it unzipped and not flap around. Lots of pockets, 2 side, 1 lower back and 1 breast pocket. And it rolls and clips around the waist, which allows the lower back pocket to turn into a belt pack. Also has a great hood, double chest zips to access both soft flasks when worn over the vest. And thumb loops, which I liked since I found the sleeves just slightly long. Can't recommend this enough.

Thanks for the running jacket video.The weather is starting to warm up where I live in South East USA and from April through about Mid September I rarely where a jacket.Back in 2008 through about 2013 I bought too many jackets from thicker Asics shell jackets for cold weather and wind to lighter Saucony ,Adidas Nike and Brooks jackets.I probably have aboit 8 or 9 jackets that still work great even though newer models came out.Sometimes I might do something cooky just for fun like run in a Nike half zip nylon shirt and wear an old Army camo jacket over it for low 40,s mid 30's F for an easy laid back casual run just for the looks of it Running at an easy recovery pace I am not pushing the pace or heating up much so it doesn't matter for the mellow easy run and it would be nice if some running jackets had a wider variety of colors to pick from.But I know you can't expect much from a budget jacket.i use to really like a mid night blue color running jackets but sometimes this can be hard to find. If I see a nice running jacket I like I will buy it. Saucony had a real cool nice bright orange running jacket which had a small battery connected inside which would light up these L.E.D lights through the inside of the jacket.They were out of the large size fast but that was a cool jacket back in 2012 or 2013 that wish I bought.I think it was around 130 .US dollars back then. Last week running in a hailstorm soaked to the skin I would have paid a lot of money for a cool and dry jacket. Now I am more rational and looking for something I can actually afford for those kinds of days (which I do love).

Love the New Balance jacket, just wish the hood was adjustable. If it is very windy is like a parachute over my head, but I suppose its good for resistance training!

Higher State gear is top class! Not just top class value for money but top class - full stop! Bought one of their jackets recently; it does everything you want; waterproof, breathable, comfortable. Higher State vests , shorts, tees etc are also top class. Who on earth would pay £40+ for a pair of shorts when you can get two vests and two pairs of race shorts for well under that price?
