How exciting! I can't keep up with your videos now! Been moving for almost a month now. Lived in the old house almost 30 years, a lot to sort thru. I will get it all done one day! Kitchen is almost done. Didn't have a fridge until last weekend, a lot of eating out! I am so proud of you for accomplishing this goal so quickly. A lot of channels take many years to get to where you are now. You are unique, and are filling a void. You know you are needed when so many people share your channel and it grows so quickly! We all miss our favorite foods when we try to eat better, and you have given them back to us. Thank you!!

Sorry if this has already been asked in the comments-Is the parmesan the kind in the can? I made the breading last night, but I shredded some parmesan. I coated some sliced green tomatoes and fried them for my husband. He loved it!
@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 10 күн бұрын
You can use either. If you shred your own I suggest using a food processor or something to grind it finer so it sticks better. But either way is fine. 😊

Chris, most of the time I don't have the time to try most of your recipes, but was wondering if you had ever tried to make a carnivore ketchup? I grew up eating ketchup on my eggs, and is really the only thing I miss on the carnivore diet. Don't know if its possible but thought I would ask.
@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 8 күн бұрын
Hey Lyle! Thanks for watching. Carnivore condiments are tough because most condiments and sauces rely on plant products for combinations of flavor and texture, and modern ketchup is heavily reliant on tomato and spices. I could easily come up with a keto version but a carnivore version is probably not very likely. There are lots of ways I make carnivore sauces but none of them is going to be anything like the ketchup you’re missing unfortunately as that is so heavily based on tomato and a combination of acidic and sweet flavors. That being said if you want to make the keto compromise for the ketchup on occasion I don’t think anyone here will fault you for it (or if they do in a dogmatic way they’re probably not worth listening to anyway). It’s really up to you. I ate ketchup on my eggs growing up too so I understand what you’re after and why. 😊👍🏼

I'm curious... historically you have been anti-black pepper because of the oxalates. What has changed?? (I bought white pepper because of you!) This recipe look delicious!
@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 10 күн бұрын
Hi Nancy. I’ve never been anti black pepper at all, and many of my recipes use it as I use it almost daily. That being said I sometimes use white pepper for the flavor difference and I’ve also mentioned white pepper is lower in oxalates as that may be important to some people who are sensitive to it. Anita at Ketogenic woman is a good example of someone who cannot use black pepper, but I personally don’t have an issue with it or have a reason to be anti black pepper at all.

What is the burner you are using? I'm living in a place with a "kitchenette" (that's being generous - it's an odd set-up!) and my only burner is one a friend so kindly gifted me, but it doesn't really work for temperature control. Looks great. I was wondering, what about the 1:1 to 2:1 fat to protein ratio which is the standards promoted by the carnivore doctors that I watch. Do your recipes work in that dietary model. The only reason I ask is that when I have a consistent diet of these recipes I notice more hunger issues sometimes than I do on my standard fatty meats. I have been told I wasn't eating enough fat. But I don't know for sure if that is really the case.
@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 10 күн бұрын
Honestly I don’t follow dietary models or count macros or ratios. Every doctor recommends something different, and I think you just need to do what makes you feel the best. If you’re hungry eat more. If you feel better with more or less fat eat more or less. It’s really that simple for me. Everything else is people complicating it thinking we’re smarter than our own body in my opinion. My two cents is just experiment and see what makes you feel best.
@brookecoach
@brookecoach 11 күн бұрын
I have a question for those of you who follow his recipes Do you find that you eat more because these things seem so yummy? I only concerned about doing these recipes is that it’s going to make me eat a lot more than just eating plain old meat.
@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 11 күн бұрын
I imagine this is individual for each person. But if you don’t have a specific trigger to cause you to overeat there shouldn’t be any reason this makes you eat more. If overeating is a physiological response to the carb intake then this isn’t going to cause that. What it looks like doesn’t affect what it is chemically in your body. That being said if you are psychologically influenced then that’s a different issue that has more to do with your mental state, and I imagine many foods (meat included) could potentially become an issue there as well. Depends on what your particular journey is I think.
@brookecoach
@brookecoach 11 күн бұрын

@ChrisCookingNashville
@ChrisCookingNashville 11 күн бұрын
Depend on how much you eat as a serving. Things like this are widely variable based on what you eat and what you buy. I suggest you download a macro calculator and do your own calculations based on your recipe and your purchases rather than trust anyone else’s calculations. If you’re tracking macros you’ll never get an accurate outcome by using someone else’s calculations for it.

Sorry, But I WAS watching from the beginning. So I have made this recipe...repeatedly. I can never get tge "mashed potatoes" to turn out. So. I'M going to pay close attention to this portion of the video. So far, I don't like them...and I WANT TO so here we go🎉🎉😢.

@@ChrisCookingNashville I'm sure I must be doing something wrong but I've never had one of your recipes not turn out well. I use all the same brands of ingredients, also. I just have an excuse to make them again. My dogs love the failures...lol
