So you asked, I am an older retired guy and I live in Kona Hawaii. I am going to use this bike to go out and about and visit the nice beaches along the coastal Road where I live. It’s perfect for that! I live on the water about four miles from the tourist boardwalk--I like to visit that area two or three times a week--parking is difficult down there so the bike is perfect for that!

I got two ebikes myself and I agree with the rack situation. I think the only realistic way to transport ebikes without damaging/limiting bike racks is definitely a tailgate pad for trucks but I know how you feel about those

They make racks that are ebike capable, I just don’t own one currently. Bit of a bummer!

In 2019 I converted a 2005 Trek Fuel to a hub-motor e-bike. 1500 watts with a huge battery pack made by a guy in Jersey. I know, right? Due to the Fuel's suspension setup, I couldn't mount the pedal assist speed monitor on the BB, so I just used it as a throttle-only bike. That would hit 32mph on the flats. It was a blast, but I sold it to help pay for my D7. I do miss that torque.

With these gas prices I ride my ebike more and if the distance you want to travel is within the range of the ebike ride it.
