So there's a method of dealing with panic attacks and anxiety that's just "say something so absurd you alt+f4 the panic attack", right? Now, I imagine that the same thing works for general anxiety on any level. So a compliment that's just kind of absurd cuts right through the self criticism and hits you unfiltered. Because, absurd as it is, she's right. You do have a good voice for bingo.
