When you were talking about Walmart not technically considered a Grocery Store according to American Express Walmart Neighborhood Market actually does in fact code as a Grocery Store but not the Supercenter they code as a Discount Store It works on the Blue Cash cards, Hilton cards, and Gold
@MarkReese11 сағат бұрын
Correct, 'Walmart Neighborhood Market' is different. That's a true grocery store. 'Walmart' as mentioned in the video refers to the superstore.

@boondoggle482022 сағат бұрын
It’s not the credits that make the Amex cards too much work. It’s the redemptions. It’s not easy searching for flights based on reward points and that’s the only way you get good value from the gold card.

I downgraded mine back to green last August 15 of 2024. In another year, the green will be gone. I have the blue business plus to keep my points alive. I’m also gonna downgrade my blue cash preferred to the blue cash everyday. Those are the only two cards I have with annual fees. I have the no fee savor, Venmo Visa, two citi custom cashes that one was through product change from a double cash. When they come up as quarterly categories, the Discover it cashback and the Chase freedom flex

I plan to pick up the Venmo Visa sooner than later as well as the Huntington Voice 3x card both have no AF. Right now Amex Gold, C1 Savor, C1 Venture, Elan Max Cash Preferred cards are my go to cards along with Hilton Surpass, Marriott Bonvoy Bevy, Amex BBP.

How did a Chase card that doesn't work at a grocery store make the best grocery store card list?
@paulstein916Күн бұрын
There’s a way to get the CSP 3x in store at some grocery stores if you pay at the register using the store phone app.
@AdiscretefirmКүн бұрын
@paulstein916 there is a way to trigger the online grocery bonus, that doesn't make it one of the best cards, and there are other cards like Kroger or USBAR that give better bonuses for mobile wallets when used the same way. Also, does that work at the register or just Publix self check? Not all Publix stores have those

@MarkReese11 сағат бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I'll consider a video about no-AF cards that earn cash back. However, it'll likely be focused on the large national banks. The reason I don't cover the smaller regional banks is because a lot of people won't be eligible to apply for their products.

I think the BCP needs an update. If it offered 6% on groceries and 6% on gas and kept the $95 fee, that would be a game changer imo

It’s been 6k for groceries for 10 years. There been a bit of food inflation in past so it needs to account for it.

Who would've thought AAA / Comenity Capital Bank would release a REALLY compelling card 🤨
@naveenthemachineКүн бұрын
But you’d have to be weary about the bank behind it. I read that bank isn’t all that good in customer service
@johnt6806Күн бұрын
The grocery category is much broader for the AAA daily advantage, at least with respect to the Amex BCP. My farmers market gets 5% with the AAA, but only ever got 1% with the BCP.
@sk6056Күн бұрын
wait until someone double charges you and you have to challenge the charge. Or some random charge you want to dispute and the vendor states that the charge is valid (when it's not). GOOD LUCK. Comenity does a lot of high pressure, low level store cards w/ terrible benefits. Try searching for the AAA card online. The most common response is likely to be 3% cash back on groceries regardless of which browser you use.
@MH_6160Күн бұрын
@@naveenthemachine I have not had a single issue with Commity, I thought the same going in… It is my primary gas card which I easily max out. I have not had a single issue with customer service, they are friendly and efficient and seem to be domestic. The website and app can be glitchy, but 5% back on gas or Groceries is something that you cannot ignore.

Wondering why nobody does any reviews or videos about the HSBC cards? Especially the premium one. You had some videos many years ago but everyone went radio silent on them 3 years ago, despite the good checking account with international Presence they hold!
@MarkReese11 сағат бұрын
For me, it's a matter of a card either not being competitive enough or having requirements I'm not a fan of. For instance, the HSBC Elite credit card requires a Premier checking account. And that Premier checking account requires at least one of the following: - At least $100,000 in total deposits and/or investments - At least $5,000 in total direct deposits per month - An HSBC U.S. residential mortgage loan serviced by HSBC Too much work for most people to get a card that isn't all that great.
@dgasmd111 сағат бұрын
@ I hear you. But there is also plenty of cards in the space that have worst requirements and I see people selling their unborn children for it. Makes no sense to me same as this makes no sense to you😂😂🤷🏽
@dgasmd111 сағат бұрын
@ an update of those cards would be nice regardless!!! 95% of people can’t use or won’t use points the same ways you all sell it. So why not be realistic and educate those that use them the way the majority of people use them as opposed to the unicorn users??🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽

A slight correction: the AAA daily advantage has a $500 cash back cap, not a 10k spend cap. So for example, you could spend 7k at grocery stores and 5k at wholesale clubs before you hit the $500 cap.
@MarkReese11 сағат бұрын
Their website says, "Combined earn of 5% cash back on grocery store and 3% cash back on wholesale club & gas purchases on the first $10,000 spent in a calendar year, then 1% thereafter." Source: www.ace.aaa.com/financial/aaa-credit-card.html

@@MarkReese I think the link to the ToC I tried to post didn't go through. It clearly says $500 cap and makes no reference to 10K spend
@MarkReese6 сағат бұрын
@@johnt6806 - Ah I see it now on the same page the $10K cap is mentioned. Thanks! It says, "Maximum of $500 USD cash back earned in a calendar year at grocery stores, wholesale clubs and gas stations combined." ^ Which means some 3% categories aren't included in that (i.e., streaming services, pharmacy, and AAA purchases). It shouldn't be this complicated 😆
