It seems like everything I eat lately requires flour, which isn't doing my waistline any favors, but this is the tastiest way I know to prepare cube steak. I wonder how cube steak would take to a steak au poivre treatment? kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2aWdGyMjNycbKs I've never used a cubed steak cut for that recipe, but I'm gonna give it a go the next time I buy cube steak. If you've got a healthier, DELICIOUS use for cube steak, feel free to enlighten us all below! CG and I hope everyone is doing well, and we'll see you next time...

I love your recipe for cube steak. I can't say that mine is any healthier but here is what I do. Cook steak the same as you, however I double up the amount of gravy. Before adding the flour I add some chopped onion to the oil, then add flour, then beef broth. I pour the gravy over the steak in a baking pan and cook in oven for about an hour. Helps tenderize the meat even more for a melt in your mouth steak. Love watching all your videos.
@ChefBuckRecipes4 жыл бұрын
I've had that kind of gravy steak before, but never cooked it myself at home...it's a great suggestion. I generally make more gravy than I did in this video, because I usually like an awful lot on my steak, and I like having leftover gravy too to go on biscuits and home fries for breakfast, but I've just been eating too many calories in lock down, I've got to put the brakes on!

Love 🥰 cube steak - grew up with chicken fried cube steak, onion and gravy over mashed potatoes. These days, I cook it in the pan with just a little flour but not breaded and out my Lea &Perrins steak sauce on it and it tastes great. Most times it’s tender enough, some times you will get some grizzly pieces but not usually. I like to get it cooked and then put in the crock pot and braise in Progresso French Onion soup mix - the flour it’s breaded with will thicken it as it cooks for an hour or two and it will be fall apart tender. No milk needed so it saves a few calories. I do my stew beef the same way, but add in baby carrots and the onions already sautéed first and the french onion soup. You don’t have to have a special machine - use a Jaccard meat tenderizer on any cheap meat and marinade it with worstershire sauce (not steak sauce) over night on really tough cuts like top round. I let the tougher cuts after tenderizing and marinating braise in the crockpot all day instead of 3-4 hours. At about 4 hours I add in,p. the veggies. If you want a thicker gravy, corn starch thickens well and not as many calories nor lumps but read the directions. It’s not the same as flour.

Hi chef buck can you do us a best lamb saag curry i love your best tikka masala so I came to your site first to look for a recipe to use up my left over roast lamb Thanks for all your good work from Mike UK
@ChefBuckRecipes4 жыл бұрын
I love lamb curries and have enjoyed them at restaurants, but I don't think I've ever used lamb at home in an Indian dish, which I guess is weird now that I think about it and how much I enjoy lamb and Indian flavors. I generally cook up lamb cuts fairly simply with onion and garlic, or if it's ground lamb, I like to use it as a burger or in an omelet with cream cheese. I have a lentil and lamb stew dish I love, which is great for lamb odds and ends. I'll have to branch out on using lamb at home and try some curry variations. We're currently bunkered down at my mother-in-law's house, and she loves Indian food, so it'll be an easy way for me to stay on her good side.

I usually* add some baking powder to the flour, too. And leave the cube steak along for at least 15 minutes, preferably 30 minutes, so that the breading doesn't flake off. Using the remainder of the flour to make the gravy doesn't seem to matter if there is some baking powder mixed in. * unless I forget.

I'm a new subscriber Chef Buck, was lucky to find your channel. You requested another method to try on the cubed steak. Would love for you to try out a Boricua recipe and maybe do a tutorial after you've tested the method. HERE IT GOES :) ♡ In a large bowl with the same amount of cubed steak YOU USED IN YOUR RECIPE(LEAVE STEAKS OUT UNTILS LIQUID MIXTURE IS COMPLETED)place half teaspoon of salt and 3 tablespoons of sasonador total(GOYA seasoning green cap)and 1 1/2 cup water and 1/2 CUP apple cider vinegar then wisk together. When combined place the cubed steaks into that mixture(liquid mixture should cover steaks completely) dice a large onion or 2 if you love them as much as I do! Place unions on top of steaks. Cover bowl and leave overnight in the refrigerator. Heat a large skillet with about 3 table spoons of olive oil(or oil of preference) THEN place steaks WITHOUT THE LIQUID AND ONION MIXTURE. Cook the steaks fully on either side and remove from skillet. In the same skillet WITH THE STEAK JUICES pour 1 more tablespoon oil then using tongs place your onions and cook to preference or until translucent (i prefer my onions slightly crunchy)continue to mix/stir fry WITH the oil and steak juices. The onions will pick up all that flavor! When serving place these flavored onions over steaks. These flavors go great with boiled yuca(cassava roots). Enjoy, hopefully I'll get to see you're interpretation of this recipe in one of your tutorials. Greetings from Chicago.
