What do you think about ASICS’ latest running shoes? Are they making a comeback?

Great review. I think they are doing great at the moment. The Glideride and Evoride are two of my personal favorites.

tried once after dynaflyte 4. you are def correct about unstable sensation in the heel. not sure i will get used to it but definitely a good easy pace / recovery run option on tarmac. have you tried dynablast yet?

Sizing?

I went true to size with mine. Plenty of wiggle room for my toes but didn’t feel sloppy

has anyone tried both the tokyo version and a regular version? what are your thoughts. i own both versions and hands down to me the tokyo version feels better than the regular version . it does feel like it has more energy return .the upper feels better to me on the tokyo version as well. both shoes are amazing but to me i feel the tokyo is made a bit better.

Thanks for the comparison! Was wondering how they differed.

But do you feel that the tokyo version is slightly less breathable than the regular novablast? I do notice it is warmer than other shoes on summertime

New sub, thanks! I love this shoe. I sized down by 1/2 size because a lot of people complained about heel slippage which, I think, adds to the instability. I am having no issues with lockdown or instability by sizing down. I am a bit underwhelmed by the outsoles wear I’m already seeing after 65 miles. I previously ran in Gel Nimbus 19 and 20 and those were extremely fast wear shoes on the outsole. Had to retire at ~200 miles. This may be better but not hugely so. I hope I can get 300 out of it. I just bought another pair on eBay at a great price so am happy.

The Upper definitely looks different from the other engineered mesh on the other colorways of the novablast. interesting.

It does. Feels slightly warm

Great shoe for short run unfortunately not so favorable for 10km ( 6 miles ) run . Not stable and not so good for runner who has pronation. Experienced shin pain after a 10 km run . No issue with Kayano or GT 2000

You’re right on the stability (or lack of it). Not a shoe, in my opinion, for someone who over-pronates. Thanks for your input! And for watching!

Just sent mine back to ASICS. Without doubt the most fun midsole I’ve run in. Loads of bounce and comfort that lets you pick up the pace really easily. I have a very wide foot and found the toe box very roomy but getting a good lockdown was hard for me. Sadly it was just way to unstable. 90 degree cornering was sketchy and it emphasised my overpronation more than any other shoe I’ve tried. If they could strengthen the medial side a little and bevel the heel a little better I think this would suit many more runners.

Disco Matt Great thoughts! I do not disagree! Fun ride for sure! Being more of a neutral runner the inherent instability of the heel hasn’t developed into an issue for me at this point but for someone who over-pronates or requires any mild to moderate stability this may not be the shoe for them. I definitely agree with your statement on the sharper turns, as well. Thanks for watching!
