Today I compare and contrast the three 1/3 scale Dark Knight Batman statues that have been released so far. Prime 1 Studio, Queen Studios, and JND Studio have all put out their versions of this incredible movie character, and a viewer asked me to talk about which ones I think are the best. Which one do you like the most?

Great comparison video !!! The real battle is between JND and PRIME1. For me personally the winner is JND...but at the end it's all about the money. So Prime 1 wins this ! Thumbs up for Prime 1 👍

Jnd has the best cowl portrait,but it is also 2800,so it's for perfectionists.I am not a perfectionist,so I am pretty happy with my hot toys 1/4 and 1/6 and also their upcoming revised versions, however among these considering both value and accuracy, queen wins

I think the jnd is the best . If they where together and you just look at the jnd glass eyes and the realistic skin . You would say the QS and P1 look like toys compared to jnd

Mate, all 3 pieces are beautiful! Maybe,JND has biggest likeness in the face sculpt, but it is silicone, don't know, if I have space and money I would buy all 3. Nice video

I 100% agree with Chris on his comments re the face texture of the JND. I have the Queen Studio Dark Knight with the rooted hair and I can assure you in hand the head sculpt is a hundred times better than the example shown in this video 👍 Thanks again Chris for once again putting together a timely and relevant video.

The Bruce Wayne headsculpt on the QS is fantastic, its perfect they captured his age in TDK & in person the whole piece is great but hard to capture on camera. JND looks abit too aged

Wow thanks for sharing this side-by-side-by-side comparison with the community Chris 😎👍 To be completely honest, I like the masked JND version the best. But none of the unmasked portraits look great in my opinion. The JND headsculpt may be a little "too accurate" as the texture on the skin is very unflattering. The Queen studios headsculpt looked okay in the one pictured but then really weird around the hairline and lips to me in the next. I'll probably get the masked JND version, but unless the portraits look drastically better in person, I'll never use them 🤷‍♂️ Edit: If i can find the Prime 1 piece for a reasonable price shipped I might pick it up as a placeholder until the JND studios version arrives 🤔

Very cool video! Always love your insights! The JND silicone head and rooted hair on the regular version, might help justify the price a bit for some people. I agree with you that all 3 are really good. You can't go wrong with any of them. I have the Queen Studios, and absolutely love it!

Totally agree with the assessments here,spot on! I own the prime 1 specifically and thought it was bulky also but the amazing job on his armor won me over/evens things out. Also your right 1/3 dynamic poses should be a thing given these price points: I mean look at deathstroke... probably one of the more dynamic pieces I've seen and it's a slam dunk of a statue bar none. Would love see more this way.

Total agree with you. I would not pay a extra $1400 when the Prime1 is at that price. I don't know if it is the photo but the Prime 1 lower part of the chest looks translucent. The Jnd I would not pay that for a silicon chin. I might be in a minority here but I do not like the Batman Begins Suit at all. I remember 12" figure for kids and he looks like he could not tie his shoelace let alone fight crime. Great episode and looking healthy my friend. Have you got to the stage where you blend down chocolate just so you can eat it. Just kidding

JND has best Likeness, but the Price is ridiculous. Overall the Prime1 has the best Package: good Likeness, Swap-outs, Price, Size, best Pose and Cape. The QS is a Fail ... the Headsculpt is horrible. I canceled the QS-1/3-Scale-Ledger, because I didn't wanted to pair him with that Batman. So I switched to 1/4-Scale and ordered the 1/4-Scale-Ledger-Joker from QS and the Batman begins PF from SS instead.

I'm very interested in the upcoming Hot Toys 1/4 scale. Would love to hear a review of it once it's released. The JND Looks amazing but frankly the 1/4 Hot Toys looks fantastic too. The Hot Toys seems to have an excellent Bale sculpt to go with it. There is the added benefit of posability for a more dynamic display. Also the display base of the JND is kind of boring. At the price point I'm leaning more towards Hot Toys. If money wasn't an issue then JND.

Great Video, Value definitely Prime 1 - though one thing you didn’t mention is that the Prime 1 scaling can sometimes be off, and their 1/2 and 1/3 statues can be larger than other manufacturers this can be important if you’re trying to keep scales and displays in line. I also agree that the JND Studios piece is the best, and I pre-ordered the DUO version and cant wait to review it end of next year or beginning of 2023. I personally don’t own the Prime 1 version, but I do own the Queen Studios Deluxe version with rooted hair, and love it - I have it displayed with the Christian Bale head sculpt. I agree that the masked head-sculpt is a little bit off, and the Prime 1 version is closer. Overall agree with your assignment.

Love the JND! My choice. Price hurts for sure. You forgot to mention the over scaling by prime 1 also. JND needs to work on the cape and the unmasked has some serious flaws in my opinion on the nose being too short and narrow, as well as the chin not behind wide enough. Batman portrait is spot on

So, where are you standing with this comparison after 1 year? I'm considering buying one. There's a great deal on the Queen Studios' version in my area but it does seem to look the worse - especially unmasked sculpt wise (I keep all my Batmans unmasked so it matters to me quite a bit for the portrait to be good. I am not bothered by the color of the belt and I loved the slimmed down body though, prime 1 looks way too huge). Love JND's version most from this video but the price for the double pack is almost there with Infinity Studio's upcoming 1:1 bust that I am soooo tempted to get (plus I'm kind of boycotting jnd these days...). Which version would you go for now?

I honestly feel that JND pieces are over rated and much too expensive. I have the prime 1 piece and am extremely satisfied with the likeness and value. Your comment on the prime 1 pose didn’t really make sense to me as all of the statue have similar poses yet prime 1 is the only one with swap out options.

If JND fixes the face texture and the cape, it will be as close to perfect as possible. The Prime 1 is excellent, but I still don't know why the right (when facing figure) carbon fiber pattern on the chest is running at an angle. I'm not sure if you'll ever see really dynamic movie statues. When people see pictures of actors in different poses, the proportions of their faces and bodies can look different. If a company made statues of these characters in specific poses, there would be a lot of complaints about proportions even if the proportions were correct.

I felt like the JND was flawless and a good bunch of steps ahead of the other two. I totally get the budget thing but of course JND is on top here. Especially with the option to have both Bruce Wayne & Batman at the same time in 1/3. Interesting to see the comparisons…there have been a flood of Christian Bale Batman statues etc lately. I agree they should do something amazingly dynamic instead of another standing strong museum pose.

I think the Prime 1 is still the best of the three, I actually like the pose and like that it has arm swap outs. Both of the portraits are quite good and I love the cape. I hate to say it but I just don't see Bale at all in the Queen Studio's masked head. I haven't seen Bale at all in any of the pics I've seen of that statue. I also think the paintjob on the unmasked head makes him look feminine. Time will tell with the JND piece. In their video I thought the headsculpts looked quite good but their actual product pics definitely make him look very old. I think this comes down to the silicone which I'm still not sold on when it comes to 1:3. I think 1:1 or even 1:2 could make better use of it as it has a larger area to work with.

The JND piece looks next level. The QS piece looks possibly too skinny. The Christian Bale likeness looks off. The Prime piece looks excellent. I really like the look of the Prime 1 piece. While the base is nothing special, i do like the concept. I prefer the base compared to the other two. If i am honest, i do not like any of the portraits without the cowl. To some degree.

Purchased the Premium statue from Queen Studios. Unfortunately it arrived damaged and there weren't any replacements available, so I got my money back. A bit disappointed because I'd love the chance to own that one without paying the aftermarket premium. I like JND but it's way too expensive for me and his face looks very haggard. I thought about pulling the trigger on the Batman/Bruce Wayne but it sold out as I was deciding.

P1 brings the best variety but he looks way too stiff IMO. They all are going for the same type of pose but I think P1 misses the mark. The pose for the P1 1/2 scale is much better.

I share the same opinion as yours, in terms of likeness/price the winner is P1, JND just asked too much money for a little more likeness. Curiously JND Bruce head on Batman body looks identical to Queens so i would say JNDs is definitely overrated

I may be in the minority here but the JND statue is way too expensive and not an upgrade from the QS piece. Bale's unmasked portrait is borderline bad on the JND. He looks way older and the textures are bad. Just can't justify the $1400 difference in price. I also don't trust their prototypes vs final production. Either way, you might want to redo this video when we have the final production photos of all 3.

@@maxsgeekdom8514 I have and it looks great but I am waiting to see the movie and see how I feel about the movie before I purchase it. I don't buy any and all things Batman just cause. I have to have some kind of significant connection to the material for me to want it. The Dark Knight has been one of my favorite movies since it came out. I probably saw it in theatres at least 4 times. Also I love The Dark Knight Returns Graphic Novel and the Arkham Games. So there are a few things from those pieces I want to get as well. While I liked Afflecks Batman, I just never could get into the Snyderverse movies. So I don't bother collecting those items. So a lot of these things ultimately depends on my love for the specific movie, game, or novel.

The Prime 1 head is a little fat in my opinion and I hate the base. It's got good swap-outs and a good cape. The JND is a little too scary good I mean it makes bruce Wayne look like he's seen a few too many trust fund people. It's good but WAYYYY too pricey. For the price and the overall ascetic, of the queen studios wins out for me. I think it's the best base of the bunch, The cape looks great and long and the likeness while not perfect is good enough for me. it also helps it's about 200 bucks cheaper than its nearest competitor.

Great video Chris. I’m probably repeating other but I do think you have to give credit to the companion element of the Queen piece - the fact it pairs with an excellent joker on a tailored base is difficult to compete with. The Prime One piece is excellent but it’s Dark Knight Rises and the JND piece is awesome but I’m not so convinced by their joker? So, overall I think the Queen combo (with combined base) has a lot to commend it.

I don't think it's fair to include price in the equation. The "judgement" should consider the art of the statue on it's physical merits - because cost vs affordability is relative.

I am surprised how bad the photos are of the QS being used for this comparison, especially the Bale headsculpt. I'm looking at the thing in person and that Bale head sculpt is so overlit and washed out it looks nothing like mine which is way better. The thing is pics in the wild are too hard to use for comparison against production photos from the studios so either you put all three together in the same environment and compare or you use production photos of all three which is the only way possible now as JND was just announced and nobody has it. So if you compare production photos then it is hard to justify twice the price for JND based on the way it looks against the Queen and Prime1 production photos. I personally like the Queen better because he looks "darker" and ready to pummel a bad guy with the lighter gold and chin not bothering as much. I think Queen is slight improvement on Prime1 and as for JND, not sure how you you charge that much and not have a perfect cape, a better pose, a more screen accurate depiction of age, etc. I think you got it right with the QS batman you bought and I am happy with mine. Someone else commented about the Hot Toys 1/6 or 1/4 which I agree are good but 1/3 or 1/2 are in a different ballgame because of the presence they give. Thanks for the content.

I don't know how the JND one is getting so much praise, I honestly think it has the worst sculpt of any bale Batman above $100, he looks like an old man and not Bale. Queen studios batman has weird lips to the point where they're honestly distracting to me because of how much they don't look like Bale, and Prime 1 is just okay. With movie pieces I care about accuracy the most, and I would never buy any of these over the Hot Toys figures because of that. It would never sit well with me owning any of these and thinking about how they don't look like Bale to me each time I see them.

You didn't review Queen studios with real hair wait till you get that that's the best out of all portraits, Also the picture you showed from prime one , photo shopped and touched up, Prime one does that with all their pieces online they photoshop and touch up pictures. prime one swap outs are useless don't look good terrible base, The winner for me is Queen studios most Bang for your buck and looks the best.

Wrong hot toys is best and for much cheaper and you can pose it. If you can't pose you can get these poses just take out the box and done. None of these look like bale. It is static. All three. I honestly would never pay for any of these and with the price.
