MSRP seems within the appropriate range, not the best deal by any means but not egregiously overpriced either. Any more expensive and I would say otherwise but this seems appropriate. That being said at the discounted price I would say it's a great deal.

However, for after investing for the movement they will use the movement for all the production. N most movement are use for at least 10 year before they come out with a new movement. So if they make 100000 watch a year that 1M watches in the 10 years the movement are in service. That make it $100/ movement. So investing in making a movement compare to it ROI actually are not expensive.. $100m look like a huge chuck of $$$$, but if u break it down actual it is nothing.. It is just investment up front.

It wasn’t that long ago that Oris was stuffing ETA 2824s into rather pedestrian looking watches and was charging $4000 for them. I looked at that and laughed and bought a Sinn and a Ward that had the same movement and had money leftover.

Blue/ grey version for me, definitely understated model for those who know. Accuracy is amazing. the way things are with petty crime having a watch that shrieks steal me is too risky. Price was a surprise for a watch with the 400 series movement, just hope Oris is around to honor the 10yr warrantee.

I can't see why naming the website/retailer is a problem. Surely Oris will know who it was & the main effect will be in publicising the level of discount, as opposed to which retailer it was. It's really not remarkable for the price. I think CW and Formex are eating their lunch and Oris doesn't have the brand recognition or specs to justify this price. The 5 day power reserve can't justify this. I'm honestly not sure what they were thinking

Great vid Jody. I have said watch and got a similar deal buying like new in excellent condition, right after they came out. I will say this about the watch: it is, short of my Longines Zulu Time x Hodinkee Ti 39mm, the most comfortable watch to wear, that I have ever put on my wrist. And I’ve had a few on my wrist. I do have the SS Pro Pilot Okevanga and love that one too. (Better lume, dial, hands legibility-and on an NDC style parachute strap) That said, I love the minamilist, futuristic look of the Pro Pilot X. I too love that Coulson!

Thanks for the review Jody! To me it's an attractive watch, but somewhat meh to be honest. Even for the 2K+ price, there are alternatives, though granted not with that movement and warranty, if that's what some find appealing. Agree with the niggle regarding the printed dial. And although not every watch needs to have a color-matched date wheel, it think it would have been appropriate in this case.

Oris screwed up initially with the pricing and it’s obvious. Even at the discounted price, that printed dial is hard to take given other options…bit of a swing and miss. But it is an Oris and other than the dial, it is a good looking piece…that could look better.
