Mr. Lake said Potassium is a metallic not combustible for DPF. High levels of potassium, sodium, calcium, magesium, Zinc, phosphorus, these metal components (that Ash) plugs up the DPF which is going to cause you to regen at sooner intervals.

If the potassium was from this fuel additive, my DPF would’ve plugged long ago. I have almost 180,000 miles on my original DPF

I believe hot shots edt was used in a study on Columbus municipal powerstroke fleet trucks and there was a documented 50 percent reduction in regens and overall lower maintenance costs and downtime: something to look at -I use hot shot edt in my glad ecodiesel and have used the archoil dpf cleaning product very 5k miles . Something to look into-the columbus fleet truck study was interesting

I recently purchased a 2017 6.7 with a little over 47k on it. Should I start running additives now or wait for a while and get some more miles on it? And by the way I appreciate this channel good info for the first time diesel owner.
