Thanks for all the info Paul, it’s always good to hear real world numbers. I’ve run Hotshot EDT since the second tank of my 2021 3500 HO. I haven’t reset my mileage since day one and as of today is says I’m at 19.9mpg overall for 9850 miles (70% highway). I did pull 2400 miles of that 9850 pulling a 5000 pound 16 foot enclosed trailer. I’ll also start pulling the toy hauler here in a couple weeks. We will see how it does on a 1500 mile trip planned. Appreciate all the videos.

I have the same truck and have run Hot Shot EDT and your lie meter must be off especially with towing 25% of those miles and 30% being city. I can get 20mpg unloaded running 62 on the highway.

Props for using the long neck Stanadyne style bottles. I've been using 24 of those bottles to serve down a mix of Power Service and Hotshot from larger containers for over 140,000 miles now in my 3.0L Ecodiesel. I can tell a difference in sound and low boost throttle response if I don't add it after about 2 tanks. There's definitely a difference in towing fuel economy in the neighborhood of 1.5 mpg better with my blend than without. I've tried every additive I could get my hands on in almost 30 years of driving diesel trucks and equipment and silence seems to come from lubricity and power comes from Cetane. I've found that the PS and HS blend at about 200% of the recommended blend gives me the most noticeable gain for a only a few dollars per tank.

I was over the road trucker, ran test on Lucas, Howes, Power Service and each one was used over a year before trying the next one. Power Service worked best with a increase of at least 1 + mpg, that was in a Detroit 60 series. I have a Dodge Cummins HO 5.9 and the Power Service cleaned the injectors and made a difference in running and fuel mileage. When towing my 5th wheel I can add extra PS and raise my cetane number up and that’s my 2 cents worth.

Any opinion on R99 diesel? It's been replacing regular #2 Diesel at many stations here in California, which concerned me at first. However, after a running it off and on for some miles, I've been pretty impressed with it. It has a higher cetane rating than regular petroleum diesel. The engine runs a tiny bit smoother (kind of hard to tell, but you'll notice it with back to back full tanks), but there's definitely been about a 5-10% bump in fuel economy. For that reason, I've been running it almost exclusively now for about a year. I just did my fuel filter, and the thing was the cleanest I'd ever seen it, no carbon or crud at all in the filter, still white.

I run a ‘13 Durango with an afe cold air intake, I use (almost exclusively Shell V-Power, when available) and sea foam once a month (unless traveling and not using shell 93 or Sheets, then I use EVERY tank refill: 24.9-gallon tank.) I've noticed in my 260K+ miles, she responds, performs, and sips more efficiently in such conditions. (22C/22-26/Hwy. Yes, that's 600+ miles per tank. I can go from a suburb of Boston, MA to south of DC ON ONE tank! (1/8th fuel left when staying on 90/84/95S.) If I run southwest (90/84/287/81) I go from the suburbs of Boston to just inside the WV border - Sheetz on a tank! Just under a 1/8th tank. And I'm not light on my foot. It's worth it! I only notice a decrease in fuel econ when I'm west of the Mississippi. (AR, KS, OK, NM, AZ, NV) annual trip. *TX seems to return fuel econ to “normal”. Also, northern states like WI, MN, SD, MN, CO, UT, NE, IA even IL don't seem to have the same fuel econ as eastern states in my vehicle. Even when using E85 (flex-fuel- obvious drop in fuel econ. But all the states I mentioned decreased in econ drop fuel to the manufacturer's posted fuel econ numbers of 20/22.) I'm viewing this video as I have gained a set of dually (Ram 3500 and a Chevy 3500) 🎉and need to better understand diesel fuel econ for these trips. Thanks for reading my babbling.
