I was in Philippines for a month in March and found the internet quality was better than pre pandemic it also seemed pretty good in Dumaguete.
@gmsimon

the local ISPs were forced to step up because of the increased usage during the pandemic due to everyone using it at home for work / school. That said, if you are staying in Makati / BGC or the more industry-heavy areas of Quezon City in Manila, net speeds shouldn't be an issue. Though it is wise to ask for a speed test before renting a place, especially if it's a complex, as the landlord may only be using 1 connection for the entire thing, thus slowing things down.

Hi Isabella. There is lots of great information here that would be of value to anyone really. As a digital nomad, my biggest priority is internet access and speed. As long as I have that, I'm golden. But in the downtime, having somewhere to exercise, relax, and eat are all necessities as well. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see part 2.

This is great to hear, thank you! Being a digital nomad has great perks but can be a real hassle if internet access is unreliable. So this topic is precious to me as well ⭐️ We’ll be posting Part 2 soon! 😄

This video was full of helpful information. I like that you also shared a bit of the personality of each place. I would have liked to have more relevant information like internet access/speed, co-working spaces, and accommodations prioritized. That info was kind of lost within all of the general activities mentioned. I’m looking forward to part 2!

Great to see your new video. I love living in Makati. It gets my Western needs met before I head out to the provinces. I'm not sure I am a digital nomad. I am just a freelance photographer. Great seeing this video. I know your audience made mostly of pensioners, so I love that you took the time to make a video for those of us still doing the grind. My needs as a digital creator are, great coffee, wifi, and and a physical activity to burn some calories. My favorite is biking.

@@Isabella-ky8kx I L♥️VE your description of Makati. What a place! Would you say neighboring BGC would also be a good digital nomad location (consistent, fast internet and power), with things to do in our free time (dine, nightlife)?

One more request (that I would cut off 5 toes to see from you) is a video discussing, in detail like this video does, Boracay. I would consider spending a lot of time there if the internet and power was good. I thought I heard Mega World was building a project on Boracay, and that Boracay has really been coming along with development the past so many years.

Since the video is aimed at digital nomads, it would be better served by depicting the results of Speedtest benchmarks showing typical upload and download Internet speeds for the different locations. Several foreigner vloggers cut short their trip to El Nido, Palawan because they couldn't get a decent speed Internet connection to upload their KZbin video. So the destination of the benchmarks should be KZbin servers in the US or whatever foreign country the KZbin servers are located or mirrored. The historic buildings and amenities in this video can be highlighted in a different episode.

Curious why BGC wasn't in the list for top Digital Nomad locations however? I would have thought it would be. I am assuming it has fast fiber internet, and things to do in our free time?

@Ryhamz
@Ryhamz Жыл бұрын
Does Siargao not have internet issues? I understand that not every remote worker needs consistent internet or internet over 50 MBPS, but maybe that is what didn't get it considered. That said, there are definitely more options than just cebu and makati available. I feel like a video overviewing 10 locations would be appropriate.
