The customer service is great, mine that I bought in November (S1 baton II ) had the rechargeable battery fail. They are sending me a new battery no charge. Very well pleased with this. These new materials ones look very tempting.

The Olight S1R is maybe a millimeter longer and boosts to 900 lumes for the first 30 seconds and is chargable via USB. Just released, check it out!

Love my S1 baton, been flawless for me since day one. I'm currently carrying the S2 baton for my edc mainly for the battery life of the 3600 mah over the 650 mah. It was not easy to stop carrying my S1...for the first week, I carried both the S1 and S2 haha. Would love to see a S1r or S2r in the future. Personally I love the TIR lens and would be willing to make it a little longer to be able to throw it onto a dock. The lens is the whole reason I choose the S2 over the S30r. Great vid as always!

Check out the new Foursevens Preon. I tried the S1 Baton but found it to be too much trouble to properly index and fish out of my pocket. The new Preon puts out 200 lumens in 2xAAA size light and it is long enough to stay upright in the pocket along with having a tailswitch and being programmable.

I have the S1 black aluminum and the bead blasted titanium. Both are awesome lights. I run them on NItecore RCR-123. The aluminum has a Cree XM-L2-Cool White LED (max is 500 lumens). The Ti has a Cree XM-L2-Neutral White LED (max is 480 lumens)

I have a very similar life, a night core. I love this life, the only problem is finding the side button in the dark. That's a big problem.

This light is useless while using their rechargeable RCR123A. 500lm mode triggers battery protection and light is shutting off in matter of seconds. In order to restore functionality need to unscrew tail cap and put it back. Works great with Surefire CR123A batteries though.

Sootch, I've always tried to get lights that use common batteries (i.e. AA or AAA). I notice many of the lights you like use 3v batteries. What are your thoughts on prioritizing items with common battery types?

Question Sootch . What camera do you use to do your reviews ? ....I have been subscribed and looking at your videos about two years now , along with some of your Middle TN friends (My father lives in East TN , and I was born there as well , So to say I am partial to TN is an understatement) . When I am in the market for a product . I look at your channel to see if you have posted a review . I agree that besides a dog being #1 security warning device (I have 3) . A good flashlight is #2 so you can see what you are aiming at LOL....I have more than a dozen around the house . After seeing you had posted this & watching a few minutes. I clicked on your full review of the Olight S1 , and watched it . Then came back to watch the rest of this video . Before doing more research , and shopping for one . I Loved your review on the S1 . But after further research . I decided on getting the S2 for the same price . 950 lumens , 4 inches long with more purchase on the torch , and the time of use with the S2 was almost twice that of the S1 . But I respect your reviews , and will make purchases from your suggested sites when ever I can to help support your channel .

Will it take 16340s? That diffuser probably goes great with the magnet, since you can't point it exactly where you want. That magnet is the reason I wouldn't get the version with the rechargeable base... its one or the other, right?
