Hello Foodies, we're starting a new food hunt series, this time in London! Let's begin by having 2 of the most iconic dishes of Britain, the English Breakfast as well as the Fish & Chips! Join us as we visit a local greasy spoon that serves up a hearty fry up as well as walk over 2 hours to get to what some say could be the best chippy in London! In the spirit of keeping us on our toes to continue improving our videos, here's our thoughts on this vlog from a technical perspective: We felt this vlog was done decently with some pretty nice looking close ups. Music choices were generally satisfactory. Our gripe remains with our audio which could be a lot better by paying more attention to the surroundings (Also Wei Loon's voice doesn't help 😂). The segment for Knight's Fish Bar wasn't done well as we didn't expect it to be take out only & were rushing to find a spot quickly to avoid the fish turning soggy. We will be more careful and alert in the future in reducing this type of incident. We also made the mistake of filming the 'Plating Time' segment in our hotel room where there's an echo (we didn't detect during filming but microphone picked it up) we couldn't remove completely in editing. Other than the above we felt it's a pretty alright vlog & look forward to improving our future vlogs so it's more enjoyable! 😬

Just found you guys and absolutely loving your in-depth and honest reviews! We're headed to London in a few weeks so I'm doing research. Since Knight's is so far, is there a better fish and chips place in central London that you would recommend?
@TheGourmetPlate8 ай бұрын
Hi Angel, glad you’ve enjoyed our vlogs so far and nice to e-meet you 👋! We’re afraid we can’t provide any recommendations for fish & chips in central London as we haven’t tried enough of them but we are sure other food vloggers will have you guys covered! Have fun in London & stay hungry!!!! 😝

I love a full English breakfast. And the one that you got looked wonderful. I love black pudding especially but the entire breakfast looked great. A lot of people are turned off by black pudding but they shouldn’t be - it’s delicious. I’ve never seen bubble and squeak served with a full English but I’m sure that would be great, too.

It does look beautiful doesn't it 😝. We love black pudding too! That bubble and squeak was an add on cause we're greedy hahaa!

Another awesome video production from you guys! The camerawork is excellent, we get a glimpse of Quet working with the camera at Terry's Cafe. 😄 Definitely will try the English Breakfast and Fish & Chips when I'm visiting London, such a shame that you can't eat in at Knight's Fish Bar. Imagine getting to taste the fish and chips when it is fresh and crispy. 😋See you guys in the next video! 👋

Hello Jian Cheng, glad you enjoyed this vlog! 😁 Quet works the camera rather well hahaha! As for Knight's Fish Bar, not having dine in option is really a pity as we really find it to be a pretty good chippy! 😋 See you in the next one hehe!
@stuartheard49276 ай бұрын
Great chippy ,my family have used it for years, great family that run it too, it's one sadly one of the last surviving old family shops in west Norwood, the cafe next door is also original family owned, and Ross and Tina and Linda still have the fruit stall.❤
@TheGourmetPlate6 ай бұрын
Hello there, yes it is indeed some tasty fish & chips! Didn't know about the family owned cafe next door else we would've visited hahaha! 😋

@@TheGourmetPlate sorry couple of doors up, electric cafe, I don't think the decors changed since I was 15, 51 now 😂 the bread and butter pudding is the best it's very stodgy, ideal for a hard day's graft.

What a rip off for £14.5, with 1 slice of toast for another £1. I mean £1 for i slice of bread????? haha But i guess in central London thats the price. I think i paid about £7-8 in Finchley Nice video
@TheGourmetPlate Жыл бұрын
Hey Charles, yes, it is indeed rather steep in price but through our 3 week visit it seems that's the general price point of London😂. Glad you enjoyed this episode & we look forward to see you in our future vlogs!

The chips in traditional fish and chips are usually kind of soggy. Firstly they're not that crispy to begin with secondly they loads of malt vinegar on top, finally it often gets wrapped which steams everything. As a British born Chinese Londoner I want to eat fish and chips maybe once every five years. There are much better things to eat in London.

Looks like the English breakfast is loaded with cholesterol
@TheGourmetPlate Жыл бұрын
Haha Thomas, you're right on this one! It is loaded with cholesterol 😂 (Fish & Chips too...We are so...screwed...) 😱😱😱
@jonlincoln6069 Жыл бұрын
Cholesterol in moderation is actually good for you and as someone from the UK we don’t eat either of these everyday, although back in the day onwards till say the mid 1970’s a full English was a daily thing purely as it was high calorie and most men still worked in heavy industries etc so it set them up for the day my grand father had a full English atleast 3/4 times a week working in a ship yard and he lived till he was 97
