But this video happens to be published by the German television. Thanks for reacting to this appreciated Eurovision masterpiece. 🙋♀️🎶. Most of the elements they talk about and show in this performance are from different countries previous entries in Eurovision. So the audience recognize everything. 👍

Hi👋🏻 I just want to clarify a few things. First and foremost, these are my favorite Eurovision interval acts (with a few modifications). A lot of people wanted ‘Flashmob’ on the list, so I included it. ‘Swedish Smörgåsbord’ isn’t one of my personal top five, but we have some inside jokes on this channel that made it fun to include! (For example, Mike & Joe eat Swedish licorice in the video.) Otherwise, I was thinking of replacing it with ‘Mix & Switch Song’ from 2019. As for ‘Riverdance,’ I wasn’t aware that it existed. If I had known about it, I would definitely have included it! I also want to mention that I took the videos from the German KZbin channel because they had the most views and the best quality. I didn’t realize that this might cause any confusion. I hope these explanations give you a bit more clarity on everything.

The impressive thing about this is, all the examples they give - the old women baking bread, the man in the hamster wheel, the piano on fire - have all featured in entries :-) But no, hosts are drawn from the country hosting, so both these hosts are Swedish. As others have mentioned, this interval act was a parody of a lot of the more memorable and/or meme'd acts through the years. I believe you've already seen the song with the Russian Grandmas' baking bread on stage, you've seen Lordi. But the violin player is Alexander Rybak who won with Fairytales and became a massive hit, the lady churning butter was part of a Dutch (i believe) act where there were women churning button in a verry suggestive way on stage. The man in the hamsterwheel was even a joke in the Eurovision movie with Will Ferrell. The Russian man on skates is a reference to a year when Russia was pissed that they never won, so they hired the top russian figure skater to do some moves on a miniature ice rink that they wheeled up on stage and they also hired a real stradivarius violin for a LOT of money (which is kinda fun because no music played on stage is heard during performances, it is all playback and only the singing is live so when you see musicians on stage it is all pretend). It is a song full of in-jokes for the Eurovision fans and I think you might have recognized a few of them as you've seen some Eurovision acts on your channel!

The real winner should be between Riverdance and The flash mob. They met a lot of obstacles during the Flash mob because of the ash cloud of the Volcano eruption so it was extremely hard to be executed. Even the film crew had o travel around Europe by bus and car because of the cancelled and delayed flights. They faced several problems and had to scale it down, still it become a success and bonded all of Europe.
@oliviera.dochez28649 күн бұрын
@In_my_own_mind no, that flashmob was a great idea, but the execution was not. The Rotterdam lit buildings got my hairs stand up and got me crying at he same time. That flashmob, however, just got lost in its idea. Flashmobs were a thing that was pretty much over back then, and though the idea is still one of the best in Eurovision history, the execution was just not. A lot of countries didn't participate because local broadcasters weren't interested, and the London part was mayhem. Also the volcano ash was an excuse as many other live shows through satellite had no issues, including the main event. Also the countries most affected were the once that got broadcast. Israel, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, etc... had very little ash. I remember this because I was working for a company to get people back home and we redirected them to Spain and Italy. Riverdance, however, will always be the performance that eclipsed the main event. It is so rare and exceptional that it can probably not be repeated. However, Petra Mede as an entity and everything during her three times as a host are just as groundbreaking as Riverdance. She is the best host by far. I can only see the Dutch presentation of 2021 as fluid and professional in the history of the song contest. But it is my opinion based on those facts I stated, and I understand why so many people think that flashmob was epic. It must be an age thing, maybe?

The host are chosen by the national tv of the host country each year. So they are usually artists from the country which is hosting that year. Petra and Mans are both from sweden and they are usually asked to host when sweden wins (sweden wins a lot, so thats why they have hosted so many times) and they also have great chemistry together and they both have good voices, so they are often asked to be the interval act themselves, instead of just hosting the show. Other years the host dont sing, so the interval act is done by other artists. About the number of interval acts, you first need to know Eurovision is a full week of shows, so usually there is one interval act in each of the semi finals (tuesday and thursday) and the big interval act the night of the grand final (saturday) while they count the votes from the televote. Also there is the openning ceremony and flag parade which also include musical numbers, some bigger that others. It depends of the country which is hosting and the money they have that year to organize. But every year the bigger interval is the night of the final and that is the one everyone wants to watch.

I personally love this interval act but I’d love it if you watched the grey people interval act from Eurovision 2016. It was kind of controversial because people got mad (I don’t remember why tho). If you'd like something different (not Swedish), Ukraine had a great one in 2017 - mix of electronic and medieval orchestra, I think you guys would enjoy it: 'Onuka feat. NAONI Orchestra - Interval act'. (Her English is not so good, just pretend its a different language... Not a lot of singing and her voice is cool)

This was Sweden of course! Germany would never have been this ironic and making fun of themselves!

I agree with this number 1 but where is Riverdance and Liverpool songbook?

How have Mike and Joe not reacted to Alexander Rybak yet?! They would have no idea who the guy with the violin is

Three intervals. Two semi finals and the grand final

This is just like all interval acts with Petra Mede Sweden hosting. This clip is just taken from Germain TV. Check out Loreens interval act from 2024 and her Eurovision intro 2013.

Honestly, I think Loreen’s interval act from this year was underwhelming… I expected way more from her

This is an Interval that every Eurovision fan will immediately kmow the reference, and former Eurovision Winners Aleksander Rybak and Lordi made their appearence there, again this is Sweden 2016.

Måns Zelmerlöv, Petra Mede, Benjamin Ingrosso is from Sweden. It was from a Sweden host.
@Anna-Gunilla179210 күн бұрын
Sweden won a couple of times lately, that's why Petra Mede and Måns Zelmerlöf could hos it several times, 2013 and 2016 after winning the year before.

What is a bit ironic is that this year 2016 Ukraine won with Jamala and her song about a real forced removal of her ancestors from the Krim peninsula. When she won she said that it is all about peace and that it should be. For some countries that is a real word that can only be taking seriously. Hope you put pressure on your leaders to help Ukraine or other countries than Iran will want to kill your current president.

Why is this number 1? 😑

I developed a crush on Måns, in 2015. When he hosted, the next year, I fell in love... Especially, when the shirt opened 😂 After this, he met his wife, who is a UK actress and moved here. He co-presented our selection show, too, in 2018 (I think). Now, he's entering Melodifestivalen, in an attempt to represent Sweden in Eurovision, next year. I really hope he gets the votes to do it.

Really… he’s coming back? I know Loreen won twice, but really. 10th anniversary, I suppose.

Riverdance 1994 is the interval act that made the interval act actually mean something. Scandalous it was not in the Top5

There are 3 interval acts every year. One for each of the Semi-finals (Tuesday and Thursday) and one for the Grand Finale (Saturday). They happen after all the songs, while the votes are counted and the result can be presented.

Since noone mentioned it on any of the three videos with Petra Mede i just thought I would mention that no.. NOT Germany... It's Sweden... *rolleyes*

What is this, the best Swedish intervall acts? Where's the best intervall act of all time: Riverdance 1994??!! There's also a lot other intervall acts, like epic Apocalyptica 2007 in Finland hosted Eurovision. Please react them at least! Not this endless Petra/Måns crap, which only young hardcore-fan prefer and even remember! ☝

Benjamin Ingrosso is in this list, but Riverdance isn't... that's a little absurd, to be honest. Riverdance is by far the most successful Eurovision interval act of all time, debuting to rapturous applause in 1994, before going on to be one of the most commercially successful stage shows of all time.
