Good video. I also have the Bonaire 5900 and swapped pads this year to doubled up Aspen because the replacement rigid pads were really expensive. Today it's 108 outside and 75 inside. 33 degree temp drop. These things (evap in general) are ridiculously inexpensive to run as opposed to AC. Key things that I'm glad to see you brought up - AIRFLOW is KEY for evap to work. I've seen countless complaints from people that say evap "doesn't work" - it's because they have NO window or other exit path open. It will NOT work if you don't have a far side window / door open. Like trying to blow air into a bottle. It's a simple thing to understand - your're pulling 5900 CFM of air from outside the house - you cannot have flow if you don't allow for an exit path for all that air. And no, "the hot air isn't coming in the open window / door" because you are constantly pulling air in at the cooler and pushing it out the exit path. The other thing I've seen people complain about these Bonaires is "water leakage" - the system is designed that way to prevent scale buildup / stagnant water. It's not like it's doing a total refill every hour for tank volume. Anyway, I hope some people got some good info from your vid. Thanks!

I use swamp coolers to cool my house for most of the summer, I live in the hills North of Las Vegas a little bit higher in elevation so I can get a couple more months of swamp cooler in, but I even have to use the air conditioner during the very humid days of the monsoon season. right now I have both styles of the swamp cooler the old squirrel cage style and also the new bon air style, the newer plastic swamp coolers are definitely cooler. my little dirt bike shop has an old style swamp cooler on it but it stays pretty cool in the summer, I designed the building the shop is in with the intention of using a swamp cooler to cool it and it vents very nicely. painting the roof White made a huge difference in how cool the building stays even though the building is metal and has no insulation, oh and I planted a few big trees next to it.

"Scorching" at 106 lol we're at over 50 days over 110 and 7 or 8 days over 116 this summer in Phoenix. Its a dry heat though. ;) Seriously, nice review. Thinking of putting one on my garage.

My tank cracked when I was pushing it with water it got cracked because it got wedged in a crack in the cement been leaking and it doesn’t go straight when I push it

add some solar panels and a couple of deep cycle batteries and a inverter and will be more energy friendly

Not well made, it's all plastic. screws strip out easily, pump is difficult to replace. Not a good buy........but it does cool in a dry climate.

I have mine for 12 years now original pads, and no rust.. Mostly because it's plastic. Look at any other coolers out there made out of metal, I'm sure they don't hold water by now...

@@TheCrazyRomanian, we have very hard water making pads last three years is great, twelve would be a miracle! Perhaps they were made better 12 years ago than today, now made in China. Tank part of it cracked that I fixed with a plastic weld.

So I have business in an old building that doesn't have central a/c. Had a top mounted swamp cooler but it has finally died. Been looking at these new evap coolers but I only have 1 exit point the main door. Would the portable still work if put in front of the door? Business space is about 1100 sqft

We have the 5900 just installed it yesterday and it's great indeed we have a 32-33 degree drop in temperature here in Bakersfield and that magic number keeps coming up 106° outside, it was 76° in the house. Could not be happier. I replaced a large mastercool with the bonAir 5900.
