Anything not damaged can be salvaged. Seats, radio, body panels. The motor may not work, but you can still pull things from it like valves or pistons. He can part out the car and maybe get 25-50% of the value.

I'm really not sure.... The viper crashed off the road so idk how it could have left behind oil, that oil could have been left by the mitsu, hell it could be break fluid from the evo breaking a break line when that dude stood on the breaks at 215mph. Franky I doubt the big guy who noticed it is really qualified to figure that out. Not to mention that evo was smoking like chimney before it hit the oil / crashed. So either somthing mechanical went terribly wrong (which could explain the oil and or crash) or he stood on the breaks from super high speeds on street tires (exactly not what to do). Plus they are on a road that is half as wide as a drag strip, in a car that wasn't designed to ever go that fast, one that just got built. So its reasonable to assume it was untested and possibly not ready to go that fast.

The original car certainly wasn't made to go that fast and at that speed cars are so sensitive and twitchy that any problems with any car or breaks would be disastrous. Especially in that little mitsu because it's not making down force like a true modern super car or racecar would. It's not parachute assisted, it's not super low, it's not on the right tires, it's a nightmare. I don't want you to get the wrong idea I don't think Mitsubishi is a crap. I had a gallant for my first car. The transmission was drunk but other than that the car was pretty great and so was my dad's Outlander he had for years. But in the nineties mitsu's quality wasn't the best. Well I'm sure you could make an EVO from that period fast I'm not so sure it's a good idea to be making 215 mile per hour runs in one that's been built for what looks like a rally.

+aram442 well they are insured, im sure he makes sure he only buys cars that are below market value gets profit from renting it then when this happens he is already made some profit and even if the insurance gives out a lower than market value chances he might just cover the cost of the car thinking the company does not hold the cars for more than 6 months that way it keeps the depreciation to a minimal, worse case scenario insurance does not cover the whole cost of the car its a tax write off the loss.

First off those 'cool' 18+ inch rims may handle nice on a race-track but will not last long over real world Spring pot-holes. Second, those exotic sports cars are not meant for real world roads that most of us drive on with big bumps, holes, surface sand, etc. Their main use is looking pretty in the garage and the occasional stint on the local race-track. Oh yeah, those exotics have a roofline so low that it is easy to get in a head-on collision with an on-coming car passing a car cos the low exotic is obscured by a mild dip in the road. Of course big-egos, with more money than brains and driving skills, have no business buying these things. Whether a Hyundai or exotic, you can get in a traffic accident if you are not a defensive and cautious driver.

Supercars are for race-tracks where huge run-off areas mitigate the effects of crashes. Btw you should realize that the damage from a crash is exponential as the speed doubles; supercar or not.

nice! his chevelle isnt that conservative LOL. last dyno showed around 780 at the wheels with around 813 in the torque department. we had a. 1100 horse engine in it at one point that we yanked from a racing boat but when we ran it, the front lifted about 4 feet off the ground on one side and only 3 on the other, tweaked the whole frame and chasis took us better part of 2 months to straighten her out, and then put the old motor back in hahaha
