This is a great video! Thank you. I do have a question though, and I apologise if this is obvious, however, how do I shoot in verticle on a canon camera? Do I literally just turn the camera vertically? I'm a complete beginner, so apologies if this is a simple question!

Yes bro. Shooting in vertical is the best option, since the sensor doesn't flip

@@joaolucaspeiter1277 thank you for answering. With some experimenting recoring I realized how stupis this question was haha! I did learnt I had to rotate the video clip and change the setting on DaVinci to get a vertical video. Easy enough to change tho. Love DaVinci Resolve!

Thank you for the tips! The same happened to me too - having a selected clip and not noticing the selection before render. Then found that Render dropdown on the Deliver page above the timeline, next to the timeline zoom slider, that lets you select "In/Out Range" or "Entire Timeline". It makes it easy to select all the clips if needed, however, you lose the previously selected in/out range when you switch back. Hope it helps! :)

Hey thank you for tutorial. But you forgot about Audio Settings. In the stock audio settings there is no audio on instagram.

yeah I'm having the same issue. When I export a video to upload to IG, the audio does work.

Which colour space are you exporting to? I've tried SRGB and Rec.709 Gamma 2.2. The video looks normal on my PC and phone, but then looks washed out and hazy when uploaded to instagram.

@@northparkfilms3045 I would make sure you’re exporting in rec 709 gamma 2.4. Also make sure “enable high quality uploads” is checked on your Instagram settings

It could be making sure both export video AND audio boxes are check-marked under render settings

Use MP4 not MOV. Mov's are muted for some reason.

Using the same Bitrate will lease to bigger files, is that really what you want? You can upload any size, but I think IG will compress the file at any limit... What do you think?

thats the idea. didnt he speak on it . you need to get file under 15mb, or IG will do it for you . and they wont do as good job

Hi.. do I Film on my normal Sony 4K camera and just render it with the settings given? Or, when setting up the timeline I also need to choose this setting. I normally choose Ultra HD for my normal videos.

"render it with the settings given" this video just gave you a set of settings to use for render and export. this is pulling the quality down for IG . as it doesnt have 4k

nice video , just a question isn't 20k enough i found instagram tends to lower the bitrates to 16k anyways so at 45k im just taking longer to upload and it will be downsampled anyways.

Why i cant export an 4K Reel? Da Vinci always change the Export Resolution to 2160 x 2160 no matter if i correct it to 2160 x 3840. It always jump back if i press Add to Render Queue Have anyone an answer for me Thank you

45000 kbps ?????? prob more like 12000 , compression will be too big and h.265 is not really supported , better choose h.264

Must have watched 100 of these kind of videos and my videos look like garbage after I upload them to Instagram. I have tried 100 different settings. Are you verified on instagram? I have a feeling that unless you have that little blue check mark they don't allow your videos to be any quality worth watching.
