@3:51 RENDERING a higher framerate does not remove motion blur. The camera already captures blur depending on the RECORDING framerate. In post you can only ADD motion blur as an fx, and only remove it with AI tools
@galanlefont16005 ай бұрын
Motion Blur does not has anything to do with framerate either, but with shutter speed. You can film 24 FPS at 1/400 or 60FPS at 1/60 and the 60FPS video will have much more motion blur

Out of all videos, this is the most detailed I've watched! Thank you! On the other hand, what about the fps?
@RyanPavoneMedia2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Kenneth im glad you enjoyed it! Currently the max FPS instagram reels supports is 30 so whenever you export I would export in a 30fps timeline. In camera you can record at any framerate above 30fps though which will give you the smoothest playback and also allow you to slowdown your footage if you'd like and have it remain smooth.
@shaji6481 Жыл бұрын
@@RyanPavoneMedia What if you've recorded at 24 FPS (23.976)? I've noticed my footage is a bit choppy when uploading as a reel.
@RyanPavoneMedia Жыл бұрын
@@shaji6481 if you've recorded your footage at 24fps then it isnt going to appear as smooth as 30 or 60fps. Unfortunately there isn't any way to increase the frame rate of footage after it is shot, but if you want to have smoother playback in the future then you can switch your record setting to 30 or 60fps

@@RyanPavoneMedia any problems with exporting at 24fps? since I usually shoot in 24fps
@RyanPavoneMedia Жыл бұрын
@@kylewiltshire nope no problem shooting in 24fps it just depends on what kind of a feel you are trying to achieve. If you shoot in 24fps your footage will appear more cinematic due to the fact that it will have more motion blur between frames. If you shoot in a high frame rate you wont get that motion blur which will make your footage appear smoother. There is no right or wrong way to do it

Rarely touched on in these type of guides is the 24 framerate. It depends on your content, but the gold standard for that dreamy music-video look is to film in 30 and slow it down by 20% on a 24 timeline. Then export in 24. BUT, the IG minimum is 30 and there are mixed observations on whether the 24 would look choppy or not once uploaded. The running theory is that IG will force the 24 to 30, therefore losing frames. But there isn't a single definitive answer it seems. Safe bet would be to just stick with 30 but you do lose out on that nice dreamy look to your movements.

Just edit in a 1080 timeline, no need to edit in a UHD timeline if it's going to be 1080. For quality, then the final determining factor should be the compression used for encoding.

What do you recommend for the target and max bitrates when exporting in 4k?
@RyanPavoneMedia2 жыл бұрын
According to Adobe, for best quality 4k exports you want a bitrate between 60-80mbps. It really depends on what you are hoping to do with the video but if file size is not an issue then I would aim for closer to 80. as long as you are above 60 though I dont think anyone will be able to notice a difference. Instagram started downgrading stories and reels to 720p now. It used to be 1080p. If you download some of your reels you can check the quality of the videos. It’s so annoying. They’re trying to save on storage space and bandwidth from what I’ve read online. I wish someone can make a video on this because many people are experiencing this issue.

From instagrams official page: 'Reels should have a minimum frame rate of 30 FPS (frames per second) and a minimum resolution of 720 pixels.' So when they say 30fps they mean 29.97? And what do they mean by a minimum of 30. It makes it sound as if you could post more than 30fps but I have tried to post 60 fps many times and it always gets rencoded to 30fps. But I feel like i've seen buttery smooth 60 fps reels before. There is no such thing as support in these major social media corporations cause you're not the customer, so I can't ask them either why I can't post in 60fps but seemingly others can.

Hello. I'm reaching out here again because I'm at my wits' end. I use a GoPro 11 camera primarily for my bike trips. I shoot videos vertically as I intend to upload them on Instagram. All the videos look great on my phone or in the Quick app. I record in 2.7k 60fps or 4k60fps. However, when I upload the footage to Instagram, the video is completely ruined. It doesn't matter how I export the video, whether in HD, FHD, 2k, or 4k. Reels always end up being of poor quality. Additionally, when I record with my phone in 4k 30fps, those videos look good on Instagram as well. Please help, as I'm about to throw this camera in the trash.
