I am almost 45 and I have been wearing mostly cropped tops in the last year as I am petite and this paired with a high wasted bottom is my go to. Just a sliver of skin changes the outfit for the best, especially coupled under an oversized button down or blazer. I own an assortment of wide leg bottoms as they have always been a staple for me. A pop of color will be my way to try something new.

Cropped -no, very short-yes, to the waistband. I’m too old to show tummy skin (61). Wide-leg pants-yes, knit bottoms and dresses-yes. I love all the knitted dresses, especially, and just lived in them last winter and spring (I’m a dress gal). I can’t wait to get a few more this upcoming season.

You can definitely wear cropped pieces no matter your body size or shape. If you are not comfortable showing skin, you can pick a longer kind of cropped top paired with a high waisted pants or skirt. It is flattering because it highlights the waist :)

I actually don’t have an issue with seeing lumps and bumps to be honest - pretty much everyone has them regardless of size and shape. I’m not an advocate for shapewear as I think comfort is key but that is possibly the only way to disguise the odd lump or bump. Sorry I know that’s not very helpful 😊

Yes, and if it is a bit above the waist, you can wear a thin T-shirt, fitted top, tank top, underneath or a wide belt to hide the gap a bit. That is quite flattering if you don't like your midriff like me (I'm a senior, very slim, but after two kids and many years..........not my favourite spot! On the other hand, in colder climes, young ladies beware of showing off your pretty midriff section. Last time this look was in, many young girls ended in hospital with kidney problems from exposing their waists to the elements.

We are kindred spirit because I never get rid of pieces that so call go out of style. The wide leg trouser/denim/pants was a big thing this summer and not surprised that it will be a thing for colder season. I have my collection of wide legs pants and always willing to add to that collection because it pleasing for any figure type and give me, with heels, very long legs. My favorite are my wool wide leg trousers (some of them print) and wide leg denims. I just thrifted a pair Target brand A New Day dark stretchy denim extreme wide leg pants. I was hoping that they would fit tight again my hip area and just flare out but it loose around that no hip area sigh but the legs are so much a yes. We don't have try on options in Missouri thrift stores yet. I will figure it out. Fall is fast approaching here (depression not far behind) but I am looking into keeping bold color pieces in rotation in my Fall/Winter wardrobe to see if that will help squash that mood. I do have some crop sweaters but they will be only worn with high waisted bottoms (for now at 59) or with a very wide belt that covers that area like a corset. Thank you! Unfortunately I do wear a strapless bra but I must say it took me a long time to find a good one. It's still not perfect but it works. I do sometimes just wear some of my nicer bras underneath and don't mind seeing double straps - esp if the bra straps are pretty!

For petite person I would advice a shorter blazer ( although I LOVE longlines but i cannit wear that as a petite). Also would be careful with oversized because the shoulders are then wider then they should and that also shrinks you. So as a petite I would not go with the trend but wear what suits you. Oh and I think the cropped sweater is very good for petite. Love that trend and it doesn’t have to be so short that it shows skin

I bought a pair of Ferragamo striped wide leg linen pants in the mid eighties for fifty cents at a charity shop. They are the most beautifully constructed pants I ever owned. All the stripes match…even the placket on the front pockets. They are a size 2 maybe 4 and I haven’t been for two decades but I did see them in the bottom of my summer bin. Perhaps I could wear them belted over a slip dress. Like an apron…

I prefer the cropped tops with high waisted to pants over the tucked in fitted shirts. (I really can't get into the latter. Great video! Do u find your converse platform comfortable? I will wear cropped tops but with a thin layer underneath usually the same colour as my bottom half. Short waisted and curvy so it helps keep the line my fav is black underneath and pop of colour in the sweater or top.

💟 So it's a definite " no " for me on the crop top look... mainly because of my mature age bracket!!! Wearing a shorter top that just meets the top of a skirt, pants or shorts is more sensible for me & I would opt for that instead !
