That new body that Shirou has basically adapted to his soul and became like Shirou's actual living body, and that's because Touko Aozaki is a genius when it comes to such things. In the visual novel they try buying several different bodies for Shirou, but he has trouble with using those since he would occasionally lose control over them (basically paralysing him for a moment regularly). In fact, in the visual novel he doesn't yet have that body by the end, they only mention that Rin finally found Touko (she's kind of a wanted person so finding her is hard) and they can finally commission her to make Shirou's body that would be close to the original. Also Shirou has no plot armor, there is literally an ending to Heaven's Feel where he projects Excalibur to destroy the Holy Grail and dies, and Sakura lives her entire life waiting for him to come home. She sees him when she dies of old age, happy to finally reunite with him.

The ENLGISH DUB of that scene is crazy, he's literally like "submit yourself to me and rest, be CRUSHED. it is only through DEATH that you can be granted the GIFT of eternal life". Kirei's english VA goes HARD for no reason. look up the english dub of his fight with Emiya at the end of the movie, Kirei is spittin' some Old Testament Wrath of God stuff in the en dub

12:53 - Berserker was corrupted by the Shadow the same way Saber was, however in Berserker's case before he was corrupted, he was pretty much nerfed as he still had injuries from his fight with Saber so he's not a perfect corruption. 20:49 - Wouldn't go that far, for one Shirou was able to that with Archer's arm, which should note does harm to him too. Also keep in mind Berserker was super nerfed here, lost all his lives before and still had his injuries from the fight with Saber Alter, plus his sense of sight and smell were lost so he was relying on hearing an attacking blindly. Also it wasn't shown clearly in the movie here, but Shirou only won because Berserker hesitated on the last blow, the original VN is clear Berserkers blow was going to land first and Shirou wasn't fast enough to dodge or counter but because Illya stepped forward Berserker noticed her and hesitated letting Shirou's blow land first. And when Berserkers are about to die there Madness Enhancement leave them at the moment letting them have sanity for their last few moments. 25:36 - Yes, his name is Zelretch, simply put he's a major figure in the entire Nasuverse lore, though usually operates in the background of things. To put simply he uses magic that lets him observe and travel between the multiverse and holds a lot of influence is Fate Mage society. ANything else is best looked up yourself. 25:45 - Yes, Nagato Tohsaka, the very first head of the Tohsaka family and thus Rin's ancestor, he's one of the ones responsible for establishing the Holy Grail Wars. 25:50 - In the case of Zouken, this was when he was originally known as Zolgen Makiri, the Makiri's had to move to Japan and changed their name to Matou. Zolgen who then changes his name to Zouken pretty lead the clan by keeping himself alive by turning himself into a swarm of bugs, some parasitizing his descendents and ruled the Matou's for 300 years in the shadow basically. The reason he got crusty is because his method caused him to deteriorate in the soul, turning him into a wraith hence his present appearance. 35:29 - Mystic Eyes of petrification, remember she's Medusa the Gorgon. She couldn't use them when she was under Shinji's control due to him weakening her due to his lack of aptitude as a Master but with her freed from him Rider shows her true power. The fact she manages to do that well against Saber, while she's being empowered and super charged by the Grail through Dark Sakura says a lot of how powerful Rider truly is when able to use her true power. 39:45 - Yes, that's her real Main NP, Pegasus. In Myth Medusa is the mother of Pegasus hence why it's her NP when she's summoned as a Rider Class. 41:00 - Keep in mind you haven't even seen the Fate route which is Saber's route, so can't really say you've seen it. Plus Heaven's feel is Sakura's route so not really part of Saber's arc. Generally people see this as "bad" ending for Saber where's Fate and UBW are her best endings, just the general opinion, to each their own. Overall Heaven's feel can be seen as the most "downer" of the Routes due to how things end up, especially for Shirou and Saber, but in the end there's no definite "true" ending as each Route is essentially its own timeline. All that aside, the Heaven's Feel movies got a lot of flack since they cut of a lot of context and how somethings were adapted.

52:02 for the record, this is what illya meant when she said, "There's no turning back". The moment Shirou took off the cloth, he had a timer to his death, regardless of whether he fought or not. Using Archer's arm just sped up the process, and the spikes you saw is the effect of Archer's Unlimited Blade Works affecting Saber's Avalon inside Shirou. Every time he used archer's arm, he'd be gravely damaged, and Avalon would heal it, but it would be healed with swords knitted together that would double as armor, but also damaged his internal organs...Shirou is most wreckless in this route...Also, you can notice when rider comes that shirou is starting to lose even his mnemories...that's how bad a shape he's in because he removed the cloth from archer's arm...

16:15 : spoiler : at the end of fate/zero we learn that kirei has no heartbeat/no heart anymore (his heart got replaced by mud/corruption from the grail after Kiritsugu put a bullet through it, that's why sakura can "grasp" his heart at will) 45:30 : actually rin went through a lot of shit as well. dad assassinated, mother disabled (both mentally and physically) and also had to deal with mage stuff (ok no gross insect stuff but it wasnt roses and rainbows and she was basically the "head of the family" so she had 0 help for anything)

Notes on riders eyes Riders true identity is Medusa which is what she was referring to when she said she was a monster. Saber has a high magical resistance so not only do the eyes have to take time to petrafy her but she can outright just resist it.

I don't think he could have just 'lived' after all the torture and mental breakdown his body took. His body and mind were irreparably damaged, which was heavily emphasized in the Visual Novel. So it was either a new body, or un-aliving. The cool thing about Touko's puppet bodies is that once they have a host soul, they completely turn into an organic human body from the inside, with a natural lifespan. So Shirou isn't a puppet, robot or an artificial person in any capacity. With his new body, and abandoned ideal, he's more human than ever before.

counters assassin in 2 ways. 1st: zabaniya replicates a heart whitch acts as the real thing; So think of it like a voodo doll. Because kirei’s heart was destroyed in the 4th holy grail war and was given a fake one by Angra Mainyu it made the Noble phantasm fail. 2nd: his black keys are made of holy scriptures whitch are made to deal with spirits and the undead which was why he was able to bind assassin to the wall. 17:43 there’s plenty more sides to illya that you’ll get to see if you read the vn and hollow ataraxia 19:47 all mages need some way to activate their magic circuits, for shirou, it’s the mental image of firing the trigger of a gun. 21:12 sad part is, he talks twice in the entirety of stay/night, and then they forget about that and never show him doing it again. 23:20 at this moment archer emiya’s feelings and thoughts override shirou. So it’s emiya talking at that moment not shirou 56:11 kirei is evil by nature, yet has rationality, after many years of holding himself back for many years the 4th grail war changed him into embracing his nature; the 5th one he seeks to know if a being evil by nature will doubt its function after being born. 58:38 yes it means illya dies, no route is she saved, and her route was scraped and Frankenstein bits and pieces into heavens feel.

It’s peak 🗣️ Man it sucks the stuff they cut out, and it’s impossible for some if it to get in (like Sparks Liner High, but don’t worry about that) but I love ufotable for going crazy on literally everything this movie. I swear I was tearing up on the action sequences, the animation and music goes hard. But maybe that’s just the flashing lights burning my eyes out. It would've been nice if he kept his body, but Archer's Arm basically destroyed his body beyond repair. The only way in universe to fix that would be to get Shirou a new body. I've waited for this reaction to give you this trivia. Shirou's character development through the three routes, Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel, mirror Kiritsugu's character development, not just in Fate/Zero. In the beginning, Kiritsugu, just like Shirou, dreamt of doing good for the world and essentially becoming a hero of justice like shirou most prominently in the Fate route. Then, the events of Fate/Zero including the flashbacks would be his Unlimited Blade Works. Kiritsugu is faced with the reality of his ideals and what he must do in order to make his ideals a reality, going into waters far deeper and darker than Shirou did in the UBW route. That may have been what it was like for Archer as his heart slowly died from the reality of his ideals. Heaven's Feel would be like the ending of Fate/Zero until Kiritsugu's life with Shirou, where he was forced to make a choice between his ideals and his own happiness where he chose the more "selfish" answer just like how Shirou abandoned his ideals to save Sakura in Heaven's Feel...

So, I just finished binging some of your reactions on Fate, I enjoyed yoyr reactions to it. My opinions on the Heaven's Feel movies are mixed... They're pretty good in some ways but butcher the source in others... Kirei is a big part of where it butchers it, we see so much of what makes Kirei an amazing villain and foil to Shirou in Visual Novel only stuff and it just... Is barely done any justice if not outright done no justice in the movie adaptation; it makes me incredibly sad because Kirei is one of my faorite characters in the Nasuverse not just Fate. I've read Tsukihime (and it's remake), +Disc, Kagetsu Tohya, all of the Melty Blood fighting game story content, Witch on the Holy Night, and watched Kara No Kyoukai, and more... I put Kirei over quite a few characters in series I actively enjoyed more than Fate like Tsukihime (tied with Archer EMIYA for favorite Fate character period), him not really being done full justice by these movies is one of my biggest gripes... But overall they're more than passable for the people not willing to/don't have time to sink hours into reading a Visual Novel.

That said at least Fate has good adaptations that can do some justice unlike Tsukihime (in case you didn't know Tsukihime was written by the same man who made F/SN, and it released a little over 3 years before F/SN did) which... Well... The community claims that there is no Tsukihime anime for a reason... But back to Zero, I really hope you enjoy Zero.

you dont need to finish zero to know anything of stay night. and while watching zero, remember its not a direct prequel, its in a different timeline, that was not supposed to be the case but zero's author fucked up here and there. Anyway, there are 5 true magics in nasuverse, Heaven's feel is 3rd magic, Rin is using Second magic : kaleidoscope : operation of parallel worlds, Sakura is gaining infinite mana from the grail, so Rin is using the jeweled sword to draw infinite mana from infinite parallel worlds to match sakura. Both of their mana output is similar but Rin is a trained mage, at that point the outcome is obvious. Nine lives is the NP of Heracles, its a combat technique he created to kill Hydra of Lerna, by destroying all its heads at once. This technique can be used with any weapons and even without any weapons, with just fists. Shirou copies heracles' stone sword, weapons retain memories, thus he is able to copy nine lives but he didn't have the physical stats to use it the same way heracles can, so he modified it to be nine lives blade works. As to why we never see heracles use nine lives in stay night is because of his berserker class, he can use it in grand order tho. Also heracles survived shirou's attack because of his battle continuation skill and was going to kill shirou, but stopped after seeing illya behind him, which is not very apparent in the movie

the reason behind why so many people don't like Heaven's Feel trilogy, it really adapted poorly the source material which is the visual novel. For me, it's still one of the best anime movies without a great execution. But my favorite always will be Fate/Zero.
