This is true. I mentioned the constants and conversions because they helped me in some of my classes so I thought it's worth sharing. (Especially water resources!) For the FE I don't recall needing to convert anything or use any of the constants. I probably should've put the conversions toward the end of the tutorial and mention that they take away the cover. That being said, I still think it's a a valuable tool to know outside of the FE. Thanks for pointing this out so others aren't caught off guard!

The Casio 115ES plus is a good calculator and will do everything that you need on the FE exam. However, the Casio ClassWiz and TI-36PRO are more capable machines with one important issue. They can actually “solve within solve.” It is especially advantageous with more advanced mathematics working with differentiation and numerical integration. Even though the 115ES Plus has differentiation and integration, it can’t use these functions in conjunction with the numerical solver where the Casio ClassWiz and TI-36PRO can.

Very true. The fx-115es plus is a bit more basic BUT it's pretty advanced for what's allowed on the FE .

can you make a video using the solve button for hydrology- Bernoulli's Equation, i know its possible since both sides have to be equal.
@ThatCivilEngineer3 жыл бұрын
I haven't done Bernoulli since undergrad but I'll make a quick short soon! I'll reply to this thread so you can access it. Please let me know (send a link) if you have a particular example you'd like to solve.

Difference 115ES vs. 991ES? Who can tell? Thx!
@ThatCivilEngineer6 ай бұрын
I only have experience with the Fx-115ES Plus but based on what I've seen online, it looks like the 115 is cheaper but the 991 gives you an additional line (or two) of text. I would go with the cheaper one as the I never really needed the tables functions and if I did I didn't mind scrolling a few times.

What about casio 991ex?
@ThatCivilEngineer2 жыл бұрын
The Casio FX-991EX appears to have many of the same functions as the FX-115ES (with some improvements to the display). I personally went through college using the FX115ES which is why it's my preferable calculator. Both are allowed on the FE exam: ncees.org/exams/calculator/ Check out his article for a better comparison: decalculators.com/fx-115es-plus-vs-fx-991ex/

On the table mode I have just one function how you have two ?
@ThatCivilEngineer3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. After you put in you f(x) you don't get an option to put in another function g(x)? This can be fixed doing the following: "shift" > "mode" (SETUP) > "🔽" down arrow for more options > "5" *Table* > "2" *f(x), g(x)* This should solve the problem! Good luck and let me know if this helps!

@@saidmoudja193 Did you press the down arrow after selecting Setup? This gives more options where you should find "5:Table". Please double-check that you are using the same calculator and model as shown on-screen.
