The way Prowler Miles pronounces his name, with a heavier Spanish accent is such a nice touch. His mother's ethnicity obviously had more of an influence in that timeline after his dad died.

3:49 To refresh your memories, Spider-Man 2099 is Miguel O’Hara from the year 2099. His DNA was spliced with the DNA of a Spider, making him a Human-Spider hybrid. Stronger than OG Spider-Man, plus paralyzing fang bites, spider claws on his fingers and toes for climbing, but no spider senses.

So, all of the main characters aren't actually from their respective main comics universes. Miles isn't actually from 1610, since his story is different from Miles-1610's; he's actually from Earth-1610B. Likewise, Gwen is from Earth-65B, Peter B. is from Earth-616B and Miguel is from Earth-928B, etc. The comics don't follow these versions of the characters.

I LOVED the scene showing off all the different Spider-People because it showed my absolute favorite, Sun Spider. When they were doing the Spider-Verse comics they actually asked the fanbase to create their own Spider-People and then put them into the comics. Sun Spider, or Charlotte Webber, was created by a person with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that causes hyper mobility and a lot of pain, so they made a Spider-Person with EDS as well (she's the one with the crutches and the Spider Chair thing) I actually have the same disability, so I absolutely LOVE the representation.

I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force.

@@NewfieMovieReactions Miguel` s not exactly a villain but he`s a reformed corrupt corporate scientist turned self-appointed judge, jury and executioner of multiversal anomalies so he`s not as empathetic as the other Spider-People are. He`s basically a parallel to Captain Stacy and Captain Morales in the Film ironically considering his whole obsession with "The Captains have to die to preserve canon." He`s also a representation of toxic comic book fans who act like retcons are the worst thing ever despite the fact they are pretty much inevitable considering the way comic books are published and the way societies, political trends and demographics change over time. Also, a lot of times comic book editors, artists and writers disagree on how a story should go or they just have brainfarts due to being human, maybe they had one too many brewskies the other night and misremember what happened in previous issues so a lot of retcons are accidental as well.

little fun fact about the first movie that foreshadowed the ending of this one: When Miles met Peter for the first time in the collider, their spider sense activated. Peter's background was red and blue, Spider Man's colors. Meanwhile, Miles was purple and gree, the Prowler's colors, but at the contact of Peter they changed to red and blue. If Miles wouldn't have been bit, Peter would have had to save him and would have blown up the collider, and survived (as Miguel said). But the flip side is that as the time goes, Aaron would have let the Prowler's claws down, and passed them onto the person he's most likely the closest to: Miles. And seeing how Miles' relation with his dad was in the first movie (and that it was actually Aaron's death that really fixed thjings between them) it's very likely that Miles would have left the righteous path to follow down Aaron as the Prowler. Another fun fact : Peter Parker of earth 42 was never bit, and there has never been a Spider Man in Earth 42. When Spot did some exposition about his back story, we saw that Earth 42's radioactive spider was about to bite Miles. He would have been the one and only Spider Man friom this dimension, while our Miles would have been the Prowler from his dimension after Aaron would have retired. Now little bit of (potential) spoilers for Beyond The Spiderverse : I think that to get bitten, a person needs to be good at heart, even if their "path" leads them to be villains. That's how Miles turned out. He was supposed to be the prowler, but after getting bitter, and with some guidance, he became the new Spider Man, a super-hero. I think it's a similar thing about Earth 42's Miles, except that instead of getting bitten by a spider and getting Peter's guidance, he followed Aaron as the prowler, and go Aaron's guidance which definitely turned him from that righteous figure that is spiderman. That being said, I don't thing that he's a "bad" guy. I think that he definitely has methods that aren't super-hero like, but more vigilante, and looking at how Earth 42 is set up, I think he's actually fighting the sinister 6 in that timeline. Time will tell, but I think Earth-42 Miles will not end up being as much of a bad guy as we're supposing he is.

it's important to note that the main three inforcers of the spider society, Miguel, Ben Riley, and Jessica Drew, weren't bitten by spiders to get their powers, because the "canon" isn't real, they're hypocrites, they can't even agree on what exactly happens when a canon event is disrupted, the dead Miguel's universe glitched out and that was supposedly because of a disrupted canon event but then they claim the spots collapsing Pavitr's universe are due to the same reason, even though those are clearly Spot's doing, hell, they accepted Gwen into their group even though she never had or lost an uncle, and Peter B seems pretty high-ranking despite going against his canon story by getting back with MJ and having a child purely because he met Miles, a person not from his universe, it's a meaningless ruleset made for the sake of having rules and not because they benefit anyone or are even remotely based in reality, just like Hobie said, it's a metaphor for capitalism

What I do not understand about spider-powers, is how is that Gwen can sense danger from another reality, when she is searching for Miles, but she cannot sense Vulture diving at her, when she screams his name? Why does not the spidey-sense work sometimes when obviously a danger is coming right at them? Miguel did not sense Vulture's attack either, why?

Don't know about the first part, but spider-man 2099 doesn't have spider sense in his comics in exchange he has venom that paralyzes his opponents, and he cant stick to walls either thats why he uses his claws to climb (the reason why he needs to be so buffed, to use his muscles to climb through strength). It seems like the sense does not work reliable when it's against people from other dimensions, wich brings questions about how gwen could sense Miles a week BEFORE he was spider man ( not even bit yet ) and now senses him in danger in another dimension. Maybe the two of them are actually destined to each other or something, thats definitevely something special going on betwen the two, especially since there is a spider verse where the two of them are married even. Sry for my English if i made any mistakes, triyng to learn it since its not my mother language.

Ye well, I am not sure if Spider-sense this is a plot-convenicen thing in these movies or done right... That they are from other universe could maybe explain it, I dunno how tho. Spider-sense is not magic is it?.If it is an ability they have gotten from spider-DNA, it is special hair on their skin that senses changes in the air-pressure. It should work, no matter what, if something quick is coming their way. THat it works through another person's danger in another dimension is then a telephatic connection through which Gwen can have the sensations Miles has through his hair... but then, it should work, if a big men with wings dives towards you, no matter if from another universe...

You are gonna be waiting for that sequel for a while. It was supposed to come out next year, but there was a vocal outcry from the animators of this film with how Phil Lord lacked a vision, and they had to redo almost everything 10+ times. Which lead to over 100 animators quitting. The animators who did work on this one, stated they hadn't even started on Beyond The Spiderverse. so 2025 at the earliest.

@Newfie Movie Reactions, 4:22 I'm in disagreement on that. Kingpin's collider only pulled Spider-Man Variants to Universe 1610, Miles' universe. I think what's happening in this film is Universe 616's Peter Parker's doing. The last thing he said before he broke Doctor Strange's spell was "Basically everybody that knew that I was Spider-Man should still know." Toward the end of No Way Home, Doctor Strange admits that the spell had grown beyond his control, so Peter offered a compromise that saved their universe and it looks likely screwed everyone else--Miguel and his crew are going around cleaning up their mess. The only people popping up in random universes are Spider-Man villains! 5:14 This is Jessica "Jess" Drew the first Spider-Woman. This version of her didn't exist prior to this movie unless I'm mistaken. We are in the Multiverse now and this story is showing us a lot of Spider-Man Variants, and those Variants aren't always man, which explains all the Spider-woman in this universe. More interestingly, Spider-Man isn't always Peter Parker either, though in most universes that is the case. Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Miguel O'Hara, Jessica Drew, Hobie Brown, and Margo Kess are Spider-Man Variants. Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, Peter Parker (Noir), Peter Porker, Pavitra Prabhakar, and Peter Parkedcar are Peter Parker Variants. All of these people are Spider-Man Variants, so while their stories might be different they do overlap because they are all Variants of Spider-Man, and as Spider-Man they have shared Canon Events, which is what the MCU called Fixed Points (in their stories). 17:29 Yup, you knew =) 5:57 Miguel is unique among the Spider-Man Variants. He's the only one who wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider. He's a Spider-Man because he did it to himself--did you notice that he doesn't have Spider-Sense? He didn't sense Vulture behind him when Gwen told him to knock himself out while handling Vulture. 13:18 So Nice to see Universe 42 Miles just before the moment he was supposed to become Spider-Man. If the Multiverse has taught us anything it's that all variants go down the same path since they're living out the same story. Sure, things can be different, but they are linked by their Canon Events. Sylvie's the only one left out of much of this because the TVA removed her from her story early on, but all of the other Loki's have the same experiences 616 Loki had. Even Doctor Strange in What If? and Multiverse of Madness still lived a life that led him to be the Sorcerer Supreme. If Miles is Spider-Man in one Universe, well he's Spider-Man in other universes too. 18:25 Spider-Man Variants! 18:47 This is the one universe in which it's possible! In every other universe, Gwen Stacy dies. Gwen Stacy doesn't exist in Miles' universe. Gwen Stacy, being Spider-Man's first love interest is important to Spider-Man's story, she's one of his Canon Events, and Spider-Man is one of her Canon Events. They both fulfill the needs of each other's story. Did you catch the name of Gwen's band? They are called the Mary Janes! Gwen is a Mary Jane, and every Spider-Man fan knows that MJ and Spider-Man are inseparable. Unfortunately, this is the story in which Spider-Man's best friend betrays him--Gwen is Miles' Harry Osborn here, but they'll get past that, and grow. These two are going to make it =) 21:34 Keep an eye on Spot! Notice how he doesn't glitch like everyone else when outside their universe. I think Spot is what the cinematic universe will end up calling a Nexus Being. Spots' ability is to travel across the multiverse, since that's his powerset it makes sense that he should be able to exist wherever he goes, right? There's only one other person like that at present in the cinematic world and her name is America Chavez. And I think she and Spot have one more thing in common, they both don't have any variants! America confirmed that she didn't in Multiverse of Madness and this story is doing that subtly by way of focusing on the Spot from Miles' universe. Why just the one in Miles' universe when all Variants do the same things? Probably because there are no other Spots! 27:07 Yes! Pavitra Prabhakar is an Indian Peter Parker--he has Peter Parker's story. Gayatri Singh is his Gwen Stacy, and Police Inspector Singh is his Captain Stacy. This scene on what looks like Brooklyn Bridge is the bus incident full of school children, the one where Peter tried to save both Gwen and the kids--he couldn't save Gwen ='( Pavitra's story isn't exactly the same since Gayatri's on the bus, and her father's death, which happened much later of Captain Stacy, is taking place here as he trying to save a little girl on the bridge! 30:29 The Multiverse as we know it in the MCU, but this series does something better with the isolation of a single variant (30:33), Spider-Man, in the Multiverse and all the possibilities of that variant and the numerous shared events that make that variant the same person. 31:32 I think Miles caused an Incursion. Remember what happened in Doctor Strange when Stephen kept trying to stop one of his own Canon Events? He destroyed his own universe because he wanted to save Christine. We're about to see Miguel do just that by warping a universe's story. He replaced a variant that died, continuing a story that should have ended, changing Canon Event after Canon Event, but I don't think it was just that. I think Universe 838 Reed Richard's explanation sums up what happened to the universe Miguel went to. "An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes, and they collide, destroying one or both entirely." --838 Reed Richards Variants are tethered to their universes. Wherever they go, so too does their universe. The Universe that brought Miguel happiness is no more, and now he's back home in his own universe trying to prevent other universes from being destroyed. 36:14 Spider-Man never chooses to be Spider-Man. He's chosen by the spider that bites him. What did Universe 42's spider do when it ended up in a new universe? It didn't just bite some random person. It traveled from place to place looking for the variant of the person it was going to bite and it bit him, Miles! Miles was always supposed to be Spider-Man. 38:45 Spider-Man being betrayed by his best friend is a Canon Event. Spider-Man needs to get back up and save the day, and his MJ needs to be there to help him pick up the pieces after all is said and done =) 40:21 Gwen might have inadvertently broke her Canon Event by leaving, but her dad made the choice to quit all by himself--he changed his own fate. The Canon Even averted here is the one about a police captain close to Spider-Man must die. The next police captain will be fine, so long as Gwen doesn't form a relationship with him/her. Miles is close to his dad, and that's why Jeff is in trouble! Miles and Gwen shared the same problem. 42:50 Speaking of "glitching," I think this is Sony's way of showing Time Slipping. This doesn't make sense to me. 1610 Miles stopped being 1610 Miles the moment the radioactive spider's DNA transformed him into a hybrid that gave him Spider-Man powers. What happened to Miles was no different from any other Spider-Man, as they all undergo a transformation that gives them the powers they have. The only difference here is that Miles' DNA is of two universes, I mean it should be. Shouldn't he be okay to exist in both universes if his DNA is both him and the spider? I'll say this, however, the first story did show the spider Time Slipping in 1610, so I guess that's keeping with the story. But why doesn't Miles Time Slip in his own universe if DNA is of two universes? I hope this gets explained in the next story, but I won't be surprised if they don't mention this. 44:52 I thought that too at first, but variants have the same story. If Miles, this Miles, was supposed to be Spider-Man he should be a hero. We're being led to think he's bad because of his uncle Aaron, but Aaron always put his family before his job, and it got him killed. We shouldn't overlook the message on Jeff's mural, Miles saw his father as a hero! Do you remember how Miles welcomed Peter B. Parker? He tied him up to Aaron's punching bag too, lol. What happened to Peter B. Parker is now happening to Miles. Universe 42 Miles doesn't have superpowers, but thanks to his uncle Aaron, who likely made a turn for the better after his brother's death is helping Miles fight back. I think we're going to see 42 Miles and 1610 Miles team up and bring down the Sinister Six Cartel the radio is talking about in the background. Miles is going to feel responsible for what happened here. Uncle Aaron was an engineer who helped Kingpin build the collider, so I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle Aaron helps him get home, but maybe Gwen and her team would find him before that. In any case, I think 42 Miles is going to visit 1610 Miles' universe and help him defeat Spot. What a cliffhanger, yeah--the best I've seen in a long time! I can't wait for the conclusion. Nice reaction =)

A lot of people believe that the 616 timeline is the wrong timeline for the MCU version but it is earth 199999 is the right timeline for the MCU because when Spider-Man 2099 said about the annoying nerdy kid meaning Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Dr. Strange to Gwen Stacy and she said who's Dr. Strange so that means that the MCU is Earth 199999

Awesome. Poor Miles. Poor Gwen. He feels rejected and portrayed by her and the Peter B. She feels massive guilt because in her mind she blew it with the Peter of her dimension and now it’s seemingly happened again with Miles. Add in, she told Miles she didn’t want to get romantic with him because he’s a Spider-Man, but then has did the deed with Hobie another web slinger. Where do you guys think their relationship will go from hear? I’d kind of like to see an inverse and Miles be the arm’s at length one, and Gwen making the effort to repair their relationship as friends even if it never develops beyond that.

I don't think I will anytime soon. The interest (and views) of my DC content dropped off after Justice League. I'd still like to check it out, but I can't justify spending 20 hours editing it for nearly no interest. But maybe some day. :)

I really liked this but, i think mission impossible dead reckoning has rhe type of pacing and non cliff hanger i like in movies that are multiple films
