When Miles is activating the Go-Home-Machine, the moment it scans his DNA you can read on its screen that it says Earth-42. I remember noticing that and saying to my friend "Hey, but his universe is 1610..." *(Miles arrives at his house)* "...oh no, wait, I was wrong..." *(Rio doesn't know any Spider-Man )* "...OH NO SHIT I WAS RIGHT"

3:47-To answer your question, no, Miguel does not have Spider-Sense. Let's just say that his brand of powers are rather unique compared to most other Spider-Men. Also, the reveal that Miles-42 is Spider-Man was foreshadowed all the way back in the first movie when Peter and Miles first triggered each other's Spider-Sense; Mile's was originally green and purple(Prowler's colors), but resonating with Peter's changed it to the Spider-Man red and blue. His destiny changed, right there and then.

Both ATSV and EEAAO being the best multiverse movies ever made and having bagel related super villains is actually crazy. Because the little detail of The Spot getting hit with a bagel was animated years ago and also publicly known but never revealed to be important. But they did not make up The Spot AFTER ITSV. The entire trilogy was already written at that point (except for ofc editing and little changes etc.). So the fact that EEAAO also has a bagel related villain is so insane to me. Crazy coincidence

I love how well Miguel as a villain represents the fundamental flaw of the Spider Society’s doctrine: that Spider-People are defined by their trauma and that their trauma is essential.

Wouldn’t say Miguel was a villain. He’s the main antagonist of part 1 for sure, but he’s not the “villain”. From the looks of it, Miguel will be more of a neutral character in part 2, just there to pace the film. Overall, yes, Miguel, along with most if not all of spider society are tied by the same trauma. But Miguel’s point still stands. Before sending Gwen home, Gwen questioned Miguel about the accuracy of his theory. To which Miguel responds, “do YOU want to find out?”. In this moment, its not about Miguel proving he’s omniscient, it’s about prioritizing calculated risks above all else. This spider society storyline isn’t necessarily about right or wrong, just theories and extraordinary risks. Nobody is certain in what they’re doing, but they are justified. It’s an adventure film with everyone simultaneously improvising, and having to accept the results. It’s only a matter of time to find out what they are.

As a queer person I can confirm that I tend to relate a lot to heroes who have a secret identity because it resonates a lot with my experience of being in the closet. Spiderman has always been my favorite superhero, and OMG there's so many headcanons within the fandom about past series/comics 😅. I spent so much time within this little fandom communities back when I was struggling with my identity, and all the fanart about Peter Parker being queer in some way or another brought me so much happiness. To this day one of my favorite headcanons is Peter Parker being trans ✨

I left the theater counting the days until _Beyond the Spider-Verse,_ because of how crazy that cliffhanger was. Now, due to the strikes, BTSV doesn't have a release date anymore. 😟 If you want to see the cliffhanger resolved as much as I do, I recommend calling the AMPTP and asking them to give the WGA and SAG-AFTRA what they want.

I'm right there with you Eric; when I first saw this in theaters I could have sat through an entire other Spiderverse movie. I had no idea there was going to be a "to be continued" so I was sitting in shock and disappointment when that flashed on the screen. I wanted more! but I will say that my theater was super hyped during the entire film and I hope you got to enjoy this movie on the big screen: it's so worth it! 💓💜💙

The issue with canon events is that every possibility in the multiverse that hasn’t happened yet is supposed to be possible. Even comic versions of Hobie and Jessica never experienced the death of a police captain.

So for Miguel when he messed with another universe to be with a family and be happy (probably for the first time in his life) and than later on he was probably the cause for its destruction and his kid, he probably thought protecting the multiverse his way was the only way, not only because he's is extremely serious and doesn't want to see any other options but also to make up for his mistake and now Miles is about to do something that he did and honestly it makes sense why Miguel is acting the way he is, does that make him right? No not really but I simply understand

One thing to keep in mind is that Miguel is essentially correct about the canon events themselves, given what's seen in the movies, but he only knows that because he broke one himself. It's dangerous on a universal scale to mess with them, and because of what he went through, he's doing everything in his power to keep people from breaking them, even if it means going too far. What he's trying to do is good and bad at the same time. He's trying to save universes, and to do that he tries to ensure specific events aren't changed because changing them causes the universe to unravel. It's pretty much the same thing as the set points in time introduced in the marvel what if series where Doctor Strange gets obsessed with bringing back Christine, and in doing so, destroys his universe. Because her death is what led to him becoming a sorcerer in that universe and changing that dooms the universe because he wouldn't have been able to save it from various threats. It's like Peter B Parker said, if these certain events hadn't happened, then all the good things they've done afterwards wouldn't have happened. It causes a paradox that destroys the universe. Of course Miles wouldn't just let his dad die, and i don't blame him for trying to save him, but unless they figure something out in the next movie, he's probably going to Doom his universe if he saves his dad

Pavitr has become the sole version of Peter Parker who sucessfully rescue two version of Gwen from falling to their deaths on the same day . Firstly, he saved his teammate Spider-Gwen from falling, . Then after some times, he saved his girlfriend Gayatri.

I think it kinda funny that the 3 most well-received multiverse project kinda have something in common: Spider-Verse and EEAAO have something related to bagel Spider-Verse and Loki S1 is involved the main character discover Canon Event/Sacred Timeline - something they were told need to happen to maintain the stability of the Spider-Verse/Multiverse. AtSV even use the timeline branch first shown in Loki. Loki S2 and EEAAO have Ke Huy Quan Loki S2 and Spider-Verse have some one got glitched.

2:24. This scene contradicts Miguel's speech about canon events; Inspector Singh would have died from this event caused by The Spot & Miles, but they are from another Universe which means they shouldn't cause a canon event that would effect Pavitr's life as Spider-Man.

Not necessarily. They just said the canon event is that a captain dies while the Spider-Person is fighting a nemesis. Pavitr is there and fighting Spot during the same fight, so it still fits the canon description.

@Eric Reacts, 31:12 Miguel is wrong. Becoming Spider-Man is never a choice made by the person that becomes Spider-Man. That choice was made by the radioactive spider, and that spider chose Miles TWICE! This was the first time (9:56), Universe 42 the moment before it was going to bite Miles! Even after being sent to a completely different universe and just dying, that spider crawled all over New York looking for a Miles Variant to bite, and once it found him it gave him powers. Miguel has the ability to see across the Multiverse and see all the other Spider-Man Variants and their Canon Events, but for some reason, he couldn't see that Miles is just another Spider-Man Variant? In most universes Peter Parker is Spider-Man and Peter has numerous variants: Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, Peter Parkedcar, and technically Ben Reilly too to name a few. Miles is no different from the other Spider-Man Variants like Jessica Drew, Miguel O'Hara, Gwen Stacy, Maro Kess, Hobie Brown, and many others. What I really enjoyed about this story is that it tells that the Multiverse is more than an infinite number of the same universe full of the same variants living out similar stories, but that alter egos ALSO variants, which explains why Peter Parker isn't always Spider-Man! If Miles was supposed to be Spider-Man in one universe, he's supposed to Spider-Man in many other universes too! Even if you wanted to ignore all the things the MCU told us about the Multiverse, which shouldn't, this story tells us enough to know that the same rules apply here too. Gwen tells Miles that Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man in every other universe and that it never ends well. This story has already shown us a lot of Peter Parker Spider-Man variants, and we can't ignore the canon events that are the same for every Spider-Man variant--universe in the Multiverse rhyme! Personally, I think Miguel is lowkey jealous of Miles. Miguel was never bitten by a spider, his powers came from genetic manipulation, but I don't think it's that simple either. Miguel has had many sleepless nights cleaning up the fallout created by Doctor Strange's botched spell. Doctor Strange managed to save his world at the end of No Way Home, but the spell had already grown passed his ability to fix what he had unleashed. This story shows us that all of those random Spider-Man villains ended up popping up in various other universes across the Multiverse and Miguel and his team of Spider-Man Variants have been busy capturing them and sending them back. This was such a cool nod to No Way Home and a really good Multiverse story. Maybe the best one yet! Did you notice that Spot doesn't glitch in other universes? Something tells me that he'll be later explained as a Nexus Being. Spot is blinded by tunnel vision, but once he takes his eyes off Miles he could be a major threat to all who live in the Multiverse. Miguel inadvertently caused an Incursion by replacing his variant, and sadly Miguel found out too late that that's not possible since variants are tied to their respective universes--where they go, so too does their universe. "An incursion occurs when the boundary between two universes erodes, and they collide, destroying one or both entirely." --Universe 838, Reed Richards Spot probably doesn't glitch because he has no variants. The Spider Society isn't looking for numerous spots causing trouble across the Multiverse, but a single person. Universes in the Multiverse rhyme remember? If one Spot does something, other Spots have to too, but we aren't seeing that! There's another character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who doesn't have a variant, and her name is America Chavez. Incidentally, she doesn't have a variant either! Like Spot, she too can travel across the Multiverse without consequence! Their lack of variants and identical powers can't be a coincidence, can it? I'm curious to see what the MCU is going to do with sorts of beings. Is this how they defeat Kang? I'm getting ahead of myself, so back to Across the Spider-Verse! 39:45 What a twist, yeah?! I think there's a twist with Uncle Aaron and Universe 42 Miles too--how did Miles welcome Peter B. Parker into his universe? He tied him up to Uncle Aaron's punching bag too, lol. Miles thought Peter was bad too or didn't know exactly what to expect. Isn't that what's going on here too? Universe 42 has gone through it and so has Miles' family. The Sinister Six Cartel is likely responsible for Miles' father's murder. Jeff's death might also be the reason why Uncle Aaron isn't the Prowler--he always puts family before business, and his family needs him right now. Uncle Aaron is Miles' man in the chair. Universe 42 honored his dad in the same Miles honored Uncle Aaron and the message he left shows that he respected the fact that his father was a hero. Universe 42 is more likely an antihero than anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if he joins Miles back to Universe 1610 to fight Spot after they both fix Universe 42. Miles still has two days to get back home and he's not going to figure out how just yet. Into the Spider-Verse was such an amazing story, and I thought it would never be topped. MAN WAS I WRONG! This team has set the bar really high for the finale, but I'm confident that they'll stick the landing. I don't know how everyone else feels about these stories, but I think this is by far the best Spider-Man story to date. That said, it is what it is BECAUSE of all the other Spider-Man movies, so it didn't get here by itself. Well done Sony, well done. Nice reaction man =)

This would be either the best or worst idea for a final live action Spider-Man film: Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6, but each member is from a different universe & their goal is to wipe out every Spider-Man across the Spider-Verse (similar to the finale of the Spider-Man 1994 series). The only way to stop The Sinister 6 would be 12 Spider-Men from across the Spider-Verse teaming up to stop them, & the 12 would be Toby, Andrew, Tom, Miles, Peter B., Gwen, Noir, Peni, Ham, Pavitr, Hobie, & Margo. We could finally get some of these characters in live action, but we could also see different art styles used for Toby, Andrew, & Tom.

Miguel is obviously not a reliable narrator and I'm sure big reveal next movie explaining his backstory and exactly the nature of how he decanonized his native universe... but the biggest obvious paradox in the logic to me is that if Miles was never "supposed" to be Spider-Man then why would he get an "Uncle Ben" moment with Uncle Aaron? Or have the "keep sticking" parallels with the comic book origin.

There's been a running theory that Miguel cause the universe where his daughter existed to disappear because she was supposed to be come the spider-man equivalent. remember the first movie when they all volunteered to stay stop the hadron collider despite the possibility of being ripped apart and miles is not ready? yes, he managed to do all the Spiderman shit and all but this time in part two of this movie, i believe it will be just like john wick. all the spidies will help but miles will fulfill that ultimate sense that with great power comes with great responsibility. and he will be the greatest sacrifice. his dad will be captain, life will go on earth-42. but mles morales will be on all universes coz death is just a point of view in all parallel universe. miles morales will be a god more than a celestial and shall be blessed by THE ONE ABOVE ALL all who is the strongest marvel character. it's what i believe.

i think you should definitely do video essays for things you're passion about like this movie as you offer really good insight. I handnt even thought about how this film is a perfect (I assume because I don't have first hand knowledge) allegory for the lgbtq+ experience of feeling alone and isolated due to being different, finding a community that you fit into because you deviate from the majority, having to hide a part of yourself and coming out to ones parents/people closest to you. Completely changed how I see the film and level it up even higher than I already had it.

Something I didn’t think about until now is… I wonder why Earth-42 doesn’t have a Peter Spider-Man? 🤔 Or maybe it did and he just also died. Maybe Miles not getting bitten in that universe caused Peter to die whereas its flipped in 1610 (or so says Miguel at least). Though I would wonder why Miles’ mom doesn’t even recognize the name if that’s the case.

From my understanding and with help from Spot's quick explanation; the Earth-42 spider was supposed to bite the Miles Morales in that universe, but didn't because it got to Earth-1610 through the collider during one of Spot's tests. Since it was supposed to bite the Miles Morales in 42, it bit our Miles in 1610. Because there was no spider in Earth-42 to bite Miles to give the powers to, there was no Spider-Man in that universe. It is possible that the Earth-42 spider could have been destined to bite the Peter Parker in that universe, but during Spot's origin explanation we get a quick back view of 42's Miles Morales (Can tell by the braids in the back) with the spider about to bite him before it gets teleported by 1610's collider during one of their tests. The only time there has been 2 Spider-Men where Peter has lived is with Insomniac's Spider-Man. But the difference between Insomniac and 1610's Miles is that Insomniac's Miles got bit by a spider from his own dimension so it qualifies as canon. Earth-1610 Miles was never supposed to be bitten, especially by a spider not from his own universe, so when he did it broke the canon which as a result made him an anomaly.

There's one thing that always bothered me about Miguel's 'Canon Event' story. If Miles was never meant to be Spider-Man, then how come his universe didn't glitch into oblivion the way it happened with Miguel? Or Earth-42, for that matter? I do not trust Miguel/Spider-Man 2099.

If anything, it's kind of a disappointment saver, the fact that you knew that this would be a part one. Because, as now confirmed with the strikes and meager progress on the next movie's animation, it's going to be a LONG time before Beyond the Spider-Verse comes out. They said that it would take, maximum, another year before the third movie came out, but things started to allude that that was far from the case. Hailee Steinfeld, in a post-release interview, revealed that she hasn't even begun recording for Beyond the Spider-Verse, and typically animators have to have the recordings from the actors in order to animate the characters correctly. Top that with some employees confirming the movie's only being in the production stages and we've good reason to believe that the third movie, despite the very maddening cliff hanger, is probably going to take a similar time to release as Across did, if not longer.

As a gay person, Gwen's and Miles' speeches to their parents (Miles "coming out" as Spider-Man in his case) 100% feel as coming out as gay/qu33r moments. Idk if the parallel was intentional, but it's definitely there, and honestly that's a valid as heck reading. Great reaction! :D

@@alolaninetales but the whole scene is manely pastel pink, pastel blue and white which are specifically the shades of the trans flag. The bi flag is dark blue dark purple, bright pink and no white.
