It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book kzbin.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

Oh yeah! You are getting there! Center front door so the wheelchair/rollator can get in even easier. ADA recommended, talk to them. Prefer private side-by-side W/D. Please put handheld shower head holder at a lower level, about 3' above the floor. Closet 36" pocket door to take-up less room. Finally you are thinking of disabled Vets & Seniors. We thank you, thank you, thank you! GOD BLESS! Love it! Watched several times.

A compliant idea to implement is a bracket lower in the shower where the handheld can be situated so someone on a showing bench can reach it. I'm impressed that you didn't fru-fru up the bedroom and that the hanging bar in the closet was situated lower. I like the touches of wood and I would personally put the bed against the feature wall. A washer and dryer (stacking) won't work for someone in a wheelchair and neither will all of those upper cabinet cubbies. ' A nice convertible sofa will solve the issue of a handicapped person needing assistance, as someone in that situation should not be left alone, ever.

Thank you for listening regarding wheelchair access! The bathroom and bedroom doorways seem wide enough. The front door area seems problematic. You nailed it with a roll-in shower. And, you placed assist rails in the bathroom. Way to go! Would consider a floorplan with a 2nd sleeping area? Many times, people will have a care-giver living with them. Have you seen the tiny homes where the bed is raised and lowered from the ceiling via motor or chain? It saves space, and it could function like a loft that lowers. Mr. Tiny, thank you for listening. One more thing, full size washer and dryer, not stackable.

The leaded glass door is an excellent choice. It compliments the home in just the right way. I appreciate how some of the wood is not throughout the home but rather touches of it here and there to give the "cabin" feeling but it doesn't dominate the home. Beautiful cabin style home. Love the wood trim. This one looks more ADA compliant than others you've shown. Good for you for trying to do this right for disabled people so that they can enjoy tiny house living too. You should have a chair height bracket for the shower head too. Disabled people couldn't get the hand shower down from up there. Microwave is too high. Cabinets too high unless they have pull down shelves. Need front loading side by side washer and dryer. Sliding barn door would be more accessible for the closet. Not sure if aisles are wide enough with the appliances sticking out. Check out federal ADA standards. They're easy to find.

Definitely on the big side of tiny houses at 385sqft, but it looks like a practical, livable size for 1 or 2 people. A bed you can actually walk around. A space for a small kitchen table. The kitchen is lacking counter space for food prep, but some tweaking of the kitchen layout could fix that. I love the clerestory windows that let in more natural light, while also still giving privacy. The sitting porch is great feature so your living can expand out onto the porch. This is intelligently designed and I like it a lot.

It doesn't look like there's enough room in front of the fridge and stove to get a wheelchair in there, and then open either of them. I'm disabled, but not wheelchair-bound (but a walker is soon to be in my future). I can see this being an issue even with a walker. The height of the cabinets and showerhead would be an issue for someone unable to stand from a wheelchair - and for those who are unable to reach even if they can stand (balance issues). I love the layout - but saw these problems right away.

Well done ! For the ramp, an inside iron handrail is needed. Has to be handgrip, just below the top. Vevor has them in various lengths. Perfect sense, from a wheelchair, can’t get a full hand grip otherwise. I like when he says…just because we can. That’s why we did it, just because we can. It’s up to us. Designers don’t get it. We have to teach them as we go along. There's been nothing to follow, but catch up shouldn’t take this long. We should have Open Source. Show plans, let them be downloaded for free. Save this excellent vid to watch again. Share using the Share Arrow, everybody should see and subscribe. I opened transcript to take screenshots of the copy, I’ll be using the detail notes. With screenshots, they become like flashcards for me to study and use as talking points. Design is our friend. Share what we know, be ready with suggestions through information sharing.

@michelb.895310 ай бұрын
Some aspects are good like the wider doorways and how the bedroom was done, and the wheelchair ramp. However, the shower hand sprayer was mounted too high and the entertainment center is in the way to roll in and out of the door. If I had one built, I'd want all the kitchen counters made lower, with a separate range top and separate ADA oven that opens to the side like a microwave. Mr. Tiny needs to get a manual wheelchair from the thrift store and see how easy it is to use that type kitchen and not crash into the entertainment center when he rolls in. 😂 I'll say you did make this home easier than the rest for a wheelchair, but still needs tweaking for full-time living.
@CarolR.91493 жыл бұрын
This is beautiful! But there are a lot of issues to be addressed. Such as storage, the shower head, etc.. you offer this for $64,000. But all the extras? How much is the ramp? And a washer dryer is that a must have.
