My grandmother house was made of red oxide. Soothing and earthy feeling. One maintenance issue with this is, spill of any acidic fruit juice like lemon or tamarind will discolour the floor.

Rs180 per sqft is huge difference between the sqft rate of tiles. It's not cost effective.

@@karthikrk9538 brother .. I think in new ages tiles wil be good .. I live in a old home ..it's already filled with redoxide floor .. it has not damaged mauch nor colur has diminished .. ( some rooms little damages are there ) but it's manageable. . So I don't know how much would have coated that time .. now a days ..ungues if you wanna get these oxide floors it will be cheaper.. compared to granite or tiles. .per sqfeet..

I am always fascinated with traditional houses and especially red oxide flooring.. I wish to lay red oxide flooring in my house to be constructed in a year. But the cost per square feet makes me to reconsider the idea becoz it's tooooo high if we even compare with granite. If cost made affordable, this traditional flooring have a bright future.

Floor will not be slippery ? In such polished floors , whether it is mosaic or marble, if water spills , it is not visible and chances for skid is more
