I have tried it and the bigger the holes the better,Eric Hoffman used a fork to punch his foil, so does hookah John.I actually use this pattern all the time now ..Thanks.

Don't you think the holes are too big? They may let too much air or ash in? Or is that nor a problem?

for my personal tastes the holes are just right. I have seen other smokers make much bigger holes which I don't think would make the session enjoyable. Because of the size of the holes I make, there's no need to poke a lot of holes all over the foil. Then again I do like my sessions to be a bit hotter than normal.

I'm afraid I don't understand your question? what do you mean by big pipe working with a medium hookah? The pipe is the hookah for us in the US. Can you elaborate on your question please? Thanks.
