Best Font Editor Software- MAKING your own FONTS!

I have *four* questions about this software. *1)* Is it possible to draw the letters using a Bezier pen tool instead of drawing them by hand? Can we make adjustments to the shape of each letter by moving nodes around? *2)* When creating script fonts, how can we make sure that each of the letters connects well to the other letters? Is there a way to make sure that each of them is lined up properly when touching other letters? *3)* Can we create alternate characters of letters in our font? *4)* Is there a way to preview the font to see what it looks like in a paragraph, and how each letter looks next to other letters? Yes so I covered all these questions in this video, so the professional edition has all of the features only the professional edition has the tools to assist in connecting the letters and aligning them I cover that towards the end of the video, I highly recommend watching the video thoroughly except for the last and first question, so yes it has a Bezier pen tool, I am thinking to make another video shorter just covering those four questions.

It’s true that I went through this video quickly because this is the first time I heard about this program and I really wanted to know what it could do. I was mainly focused on figuring out if this program has the features that I would find useful. I think it seems like a nice font creator and I’d definitely be interested in watching more videos that demonstrate its features.

@@PhotohackLovers I thought of one more question that I think is important. *5)* Would it be possible to add a texture to the font? For example, can we add a weathered texture? I’m curious because I’ve seen text that has this type of effect.

Google- common letter spacing distance for computers -" The rule of thumb is that the space in between the letters in a word should be half of the letter width and the space in between words should be the width of one letter. If your letters are two inches wide, then the space between letters should be one inch and the space between words should be two inches. So take letter distance into account. Space your letters evenly and have them connect based on your preferred letter distance and record your distance for reference so you can log that data in wherever, Also, maybe dont use pressure thinkness on stylus unless you want uneven connection or if you're good at evening out the stroke thickness

Every time I think “It might be fun to create my own font” I realize how difficult it is to make all the styles, kerning, special characters and everything work together in harmony and I just deflate.

I don't expect it to make sense to you at ll but your voice mixed with the way you speak feels sooo deeply familiar for some reason, who knows, maybe I remember seeing or knowing someone speaking that way and for some reasons it stood in the unconscious lol love your passion for fonts btw! The other day I came across your 2021 ultimate font software, it didn't work well to me but short after found the proper one for me called FontExpert. As for this one, it looks fantastic, too bad I ain't font designer specifically but pretty interesting to kinda see the in depth of how they're done. Great video!

well im from tampa florida n i have traveled some but not much the only other states ive been is north carolina n texas im a wilding so maybe so lotta of my viewers say im ruth from ozark 😭 I love fonts, i'm not a font designer either I just had lotta people wonder how they are made and I wanted to create an solution. You can do anything if you believe n have the courage to try. Im not better at anything in my life i primarily suck. Im just a stubborn ginger that never gives up.

Every software has training, I have spent over a decade in photoshop and still learn things new everyday. The manual is tiny compared to what other software's require as far as learning curves go.

yes they do, because all fonts are formatted the same way either true type font or open type font, it is the font generator in photoshop that doesnt work right I go over that in the video as to why.

As with any software it takes time to learn, and you must take your time and put in effort. Font making is not easy to say the least. however I have tried many font editors and the easy ones rarely work well and the ones built better do have more functionality and take a little more time to learn, I can tell you this is the best and most well built font editor on the market there is none other that compares. I can tell you that fonts are the most purchased item if you are looking to get into the digital assets game, There are font designers who make millions off of just a few fonts they have created. I know some people who are non designers who make six figures selling fonts.

One question, can this software also be used to re-create existing fonts and/or fonts you can't find anywhere, and maybe even your own version's of existing fonts? Oh, and I just found out that it's a paid program which leads me to another question. Do you think it's possible to uninstall the free trial and restart it when it's close to expiring? Or are there any other font creating programs I can use that I can get free unlimited access to?

Hi, Do you know the size, in pixels, of the individual glyph boxes in Font Creator so that when we draw the letters in Procreate we can draw them at a size that will fit into the Font Creator squares when imported? Thanks

i go over this 5 minutes into the video I talk about this "there is no measurement per say needed, it will automatically create the size needed once you upload the image but you will need your font at least big enough to be read by the software and in good enough condition not pixelated" I will have to create another video on that specifically but with the basics I've taught here if you watch the whole video you should be able to create a font easily. I have done it many times and I had no clue prior on the process.

Another question I eventually just gotten, am I able to generate a existing font, and images involving a certain font to the program say like if I want to make another version of that said font so I could trace it and use the existing font as a guide?

Yes you can do that there is a option to upload an image or a font. In the tutorial I did it mentions all that its important to watch the whole video.

you can actually scan them all in and use photoshop or illustrator to automatically vectorize and separate the letters you can than import them into a font creator.

Yes, you can create true type fonts all of that was covered in the video. Installing your own fonts and turning them into a font was also covered in the video. I cover this around the 7:40 mark of importing your images content ect.

I have to disagree. This is not the best. I've been using FontCreator 14.0 Pro on Windows. My cons: -No batch import: I have all characters as .eps, I want a quick import and assignment to glyphs. -No snapping: Can't snap to baseline etc. I'm used to Photoshop, snapping to boundaries, guides etc. -Confusing interface: OT Class, LSB, RSB, AW?? I don't wanna read a manual. -Bitmap tracing not accurate: Too curvy. But I use Vector Magic for that. -Font validation wizard: It found 203 errors in Arial. So how can I trust it? *Fontself* : basic, but decent for simple fonts, non-commercial. *FontCreator* : steep learning curve, will take ages to make a font, lacking in automation. This is the age of A.I. There must be something better out there.

It is the best for PC there are some mac rivals but there is nothing compared to this for the pc. The owner reads these Im sure he will update or upgrade or ad these features but it does have some of the features you said it doesn't. The manual isn't that large its not like you have to read a book or something and most of the interface is common sense except for the eraser tool in which i commented about that.
